This is the same torch I have, mine's just black. It works great on the lotus, as long as you adjust it to the lowest setting. And I like it much better than the premium torch I got as part of my lotus package. Amazing hits, and it doesn't get hot!

honestly it doesn't say a brand name anywhere on it? lol Just happen to find it at a hookah store only because me and my gf were driving by and she goes "holy shit!! is that a store full of Hookah's?" and sure enough we stopped and it was lol. Damn me and my gf just ran one little itty bitty bowl with some wand hash added and I am absolutely fucking blazed!!! This thing is efficient.

I know that Max Jitter will probably frown on it, but I'm also using a monster torch with the lotus. It is made of aluminum and has 4 butane jets. The head is adjustable from vertical to 30*. In it's vertical position, it is the same length as the short lotus. I'm taking medium draw speed, 5s draws with log vape size loads. I control the heat by moving the flame away from the plate as needed.

Seems to be holding up fine. I get instant vapor. Compared to the small torch, the lotus is cooler at the end of the bowl. I can also finish the bbowl a whole lot quicker. Small torch took 2 min., large torch is 45 sec. If I try to be really quick, I can finish a bowl in under 30 sec. A combination of my preferred inhalation technique and the ability to dial in a small 1/4" flame, the large torch is perfect for me. I'll be ordering spare parts, just in case this isn't a good idea :spliff:

What a beast Professor!!! I bet you don't need to draw circles with this right? Due to the larger area of heating...

But as I can finish a bowl (especially log vape loads, 0,05gr) in a hit or two and under 30secs with the supplied torch as well, I don't feel the need for such a monster... It depends on your lungs if you can finish it in one hit of course. With the flame set at aprox. 1/2" you also get instant vapor with the single flame torch.

It looks sweet though! How much and from where?

You're right on the frowning. You could easily overheat the hot plate and also scorch the wood frame where it touches the hot plate. Other than that, it is fun to vape a small load in an instant.

Yup, no circles. I got the torch on ebay for ~$15 shipped. Just search ebay for 'honest torch' and browse till you find it. Only 1 or two sellers. It's also the only adjustable angle one I've seen. Overkill for the lotus, but its a badass portable torch. It's well made too. I think it should last a few years, even with constant use of the adjustable head. As long as the igniter keeps ticking.

I need to check on the wood/plate interface for scorching. Thanks for mentioning that. I'm heating the plate for less than 2 sec., it doesn't seem too intense. Oh well, it is fun to use. I'm a die hard lotus fan boy now, so I don't mind if I need to pickup a few extra :freak:

Teach me your lotus jedi ways :bowdown: Maybe I just suck at using the lotus. Must be very forgiving of user error :doh:

Is there a noticeable difference between the short stem and long stem version?

I'll be picking one of these up in the near future and I was thinking of getting the shorter version for portability and it seems like it might be easier to feel and control the heat/airflow with a shorter stem. When I had a vaporgenie I liked it best with the mouthpiece off. Am I missing out on anything by not getting the longer stem?

Needless to say I'm pretty sure I'm good with that for quite some time. Although, as soon as I put some in my butane lighter, the lighter breaks :/ Go figure.

Now it's time to reorder that lotus water pipe kit and hope the j hooks will be in any day now!

Hahaha! As I see it, it's you that excels in the Jedi ways since you can tame the four horned beast called "Honest"!!! :p
And now that I think about it you said instant, right? Like, no preheat at all... I always do a couple secs preheat and I begin the draw slightly slower for another second or two and then a little harder for the rest of the hit. So, you might be right about the instant vapor and I am not so much... :)
If and when I get my hands on such a beast, I'd like to try it... Don't tell Max! :p
I'd love to watch a short vid as well if you could. ;)

EDIT: For J-hooks feel welcome to check the new thread I made... @Max Jitter, maybe you can find a proper candidate in there too for the store?

Thanks for making the new thread! I can't believe how quickly and thoroughly people have responded.
We've been struggling to find quality J hooks and overnight all these options were found. Totally impressed.

If you find something custom for the Lotus, make sure it has a couple of legs to sit on, that would be great! :nod: Or a small wooden stand?

Yup, no preheat. I start inhaling at my normal speed, then apply the flame. I've been doing shorter inhales lately to keep the heat down.

Eventually, I would like it if you carried worked J-hooks. I never see those, though I could probably get a custom. +1 to natural's stand comment.

The durable nature of the Lotus lends itself to easy cleaning. I'm using a handheld steamer to blast the stem clean. The screen stays spotless and the taste of the herb is great. Off to try a new batch of blue dream :spliff:

Here's a basically pure hash session. Well not the whole session as it went a few more hits afterwards. :) Had to use the front camera again but I made sure you could see it this time. Also I was pretty high when I started making this so I called it a solo in the beginning but nevermind that haha

New forum member and new lotus user here. I actually purchased this vape at the beginning of a mini tolerance break and have been admiring it for a week or so now. Last night, I tried it for the first time. On my third attempt at hitting it, I got huge amounts of vapor, thick and tasty. Safe to say, I was creamed! However, after that I couldn't seem to get the technique down again. This might be because I was getting drunker and drunker but I was wondering if some day to day users could post some hints! I've looked through many pages but haven't really found much by the way of tips.

How ground up should the flower be and how packed up should the bowl be? It seems like it should be packed fatter to be closer to the hot plate, but the sheeet says less is more. Is 1/4 '' really the best lighter setting? How long do you preheat the plate and how long does it take for the visual hot spot to appear? I don't really remember ever seeing that hot spot.

Ground small but not powdery. Basically as small as you can get it without it falling through the screen.

You shouldn't "pack" it in the sense of compacting the weed. I generally fill the bowl to about 2/3. Lighter flame at 1/2" to 5/8" may get you better results.
