The Lotus Vaporizer

Pace yourself... I rarely use my wpa any more and usually just opt for either a shorty or long stem. Broke my j-hook a few months in and never bothered replacing it. The visual vapor production was nice at first but I prefer the instant, low volume feedback and nimble "feel" of the aluminum, kind of like driving a high performance stick vs a luxury automatic.

Good choice on the lighter, it is a perfect match for the Lotus and the standard (honest) lighters included are also a good choice for out and about. Many of the torches you see around at retail shops end up being cheap junk. Good lighters and butane will improve your experience and are worth sourcing.

How would you rate the quality of the vapors? How smooth are the vapors?

Welp here she is in all her glory. This lovely lady definitely lives up to the hype. Lets see I've used the mighty, the pax 2, FF2, Linx Gaia, davinci ascent and this beats em all. First hit managed to get some nice tasty vapor, I was a little cautious with the flame. Second hit screw it lets put it to the test. It heated up red and it was straight milk city. Smooth cool vapor though through the jhook. Glass def makes the learning curve easy. I have not tried the stem yet. Couldn't believe after my 2nd hit i figured itd be kicked. Low and behold I open it and its still green as grass. I cant stress efficiency enough here. My all time favorite thing to do though is load a fresh bowl and just wipe it in one hit. You can feel a wave wash over you from you heads to your toes. Something about the hands on experience and definitely delightful. A+ product. Welp okay time to do more "testing" i can barely see haha

PS really liking the sleek lighter so far as well refilled it with good vector butane and working like a champ now, heats so much better than the stock butane. Anyways cheers all catch you in lotus land and thanks for all the good info best purchase ever

Happy to hear your enjoying it @rvp5032 ! The lotus really is an amazing vape, I always tend to reach for it before any other portable unless I’m leaving the house, it’s hard to beat that flavor and output!

I’d just recommend not getting your cap red hot! It’s not needed... Your gonna tarnish and degrade your cap even quicker by making it glow.. keep that flame moving quick and a moderate draw after your heat up and you’ll be golden

Ya Ill prob only use my other vape on the go and in a group but this thing is nice. Def the closest to smoking but smooth. I can't remember the last time I was this high.

Ya I agree I was honestly just trying to find the combustion point but with the newest cap you'd really have to touch it. I find success with a bouncing lighter technique. Just up and down off the center of the plate hitting the inner flame on the furthest point down. Spinning the cap also is a nice trick. I find when you do this you don't have to move the lighter.

Well after a few days of use my zico light broke that came with it. I had high hopes but the bottom actually blew out haha. Scared the hell out of me. My back up I got from Amazon has been working quite well though. Here is the link:

It funny also because no my favorite thing to use the lotus with is the aluminum stem. I find to get the biggest and most potent cloud with this. Still enjoying it very much. It's ironic that the lotus is so efficient yet I find myself smoking more because the experience is so great also primal like haha (my first butane vape) Anyways I'm outta here cheers!

Has anyone found a place to order replacement o rings? I broke my big o ring and the little one is hanging by a thread. I would have thought they are available at any hardware store but no luck for me so far in finding it locally.

Iirc Max has offered to replace them at no or nominal charge so I would probably order a new lighter from MT and ask if they will throw a set of rings in. Truth be told, I would more likely just use it as an excuse to buy another Lotus but that's just me. Otherwise, find the good hardware store in your area or other store/shop that deal in hydraulics and they should have suitable replacements at dime store prices.

Order something (screen pack) from our website and mention the o-rings in the comment section. We'll throw them in no charge.

@Max Jitter

Hi There,

I was looking at picking up a Lotus vape, but your website is not working. I am getting a "502 Bad Gateway" message.

Thanx

Almost there...
Had an early morning sesh with the Lotus!
Space queen Sativa to get the day started.
Perfect ABC with minimal material!
Light blue to thick vapor and anything in between!
I was using the Al pipe and it gave really cool vapor that was super tasty!

I will have to go back in the thread and look for the glass j-hooks that some members had custom made!

This is a really under rated and unknown vape to a lot of people!
It's a great vape for out and about for super quick, potent hits!

I have a cloud evo, volcano digit, dynavap, and the lotus is now my daily driver. It seems to produce vapor slightly less in density than my dynavap, but I think that with the dynavap's restriction, it doesn't get the vapor to my lungs as fast as the lotus. As a result, with my high tolerance I choose to use the lotus as my daily driver. Just gets me more medicated than any of my other vapes.

only con i've found is that it seems to work best with my draw rate through only ONE of my pieces. When I use other glass, I tend to draw to fast or too slow and combust by adapting away from my already good technique through the glass I use usually with my lotus. Also I received my hot plate kit. Always great to see a package ship from Medocino county (former resident). Very nice to have a nice looking lotus again after all the torching and damage I did perfecting my technique on the original plate. RIP plate, you will be missed but not forgotten.

Cheers! Oh and if I could change only ONE thing about the lotus, would be an air constrictor similar to my dynavap omni mouthpiece. Being able to constrict the airflow would make it easier to adapt to glass pieces that have more airflow than what my daily driver has. my 2 cents!

I love my lotus but I always seem to combust with my glass. Is that because of too much oxygen?
What technique can I use to prevent that? I gave up on using it through water, I just use the AL stem.

Actually it's because it's not getting ENOUGH oxygen. The faster you pull, the more fresh air is being pulled through the chamber which cools down the plate as well.

You have two options. Either hold the lighter farther away to create less heat intensity on the plate but still get to vaporization temp, or inhale FASTER than what you're doing so to cool the plate enough without it going over the threshold .

Ive also found that you do NOT want to see an orange glow on the plate when you're inhaling. In the dark you might be able to slightly see it but if you can see it during the day then it's too hot and likely to combust if the bowl is on its last hit (no moisture to absorb the energy)

Depending on what glass you have will result in varied amounts of drag which slows down how fast you pull air through. Hope this helps! I ONLY use my Lotus through water and it's the best way i've found to enjoy the vape to the fullest extraction :)

Our latest cap is now for sale: Herbal Cap, model 244. It runs a little cooler than the original, which makes for a shorter learning curve. It can also be totally taken apart for cleaning and has no hidden crevices. The edge of the hot plate rests on a silicone o-ring instead of the wood frame of the cap, which prevents the frame from heating up and possibly charring.

Yes, it's the same frame as the hi-temp cap, with the metal spacer ring replaced with a silicone o-ring.

What are the benefits over Hi-Temp Cap, if any?

I believe Max said it's a faster heat up when he talked about it a few weeks ago.

My plate has 2 little puncture marks on it from me pushing on a raised dimple, they aren't actual punctures though thankfully. The plate still works fine, is it advisable for me to take the plate out and try to flatten the little marks or just leave it?

Leave it, I tried to flatten my first plate and it cracked. I have a lot of spares fortunately.
