i contacted mendocino to claim to enjoy the new wpa handles which did not existed when i placed my orders. I quoted the new plate design too.

They sent an order for loyality whith all the items. Top notch customer service i say.

Can't wait to try the new design of the plate and further the high temp cap!

I agree tank size is important for our needs. Maybe we should weigh our fuel to have a scientific comparison.
The Jobon I got holds approx. 6.5 grams. Weighed emptied and full. Twice.
Posted unit style a couple pages back. I somehow thought it would have been more but have not compared with any simular type lighters.
Would be good information to know.
Someone should get on this. The stock honest lighter is nice, but I'm refilling it daily or every other day.

I think you're just boasting, man. I only fill my honest every week to two weeks. I suppose that could be considered boasting too but I'm not quite in the league of @lwien.

The Jobon torch is nice but it's tank is not that much bigger than the honest and it burns proportionately more butane for the time it is on and takes up 3 times as much space in my vape bag.

I'm still keen to try the Madelaine Fury but if that doesn't work out I think I'll just get a few Honest's.

Perhaps your solution might be 7 Honest's and fill them all once a week. @natural farmer buys them by the dozen.

I agree with Tom. After using a dozen different torch lighters over the past 6 months I've come to the conclusion that the Honest lighters are the best lighters I have used. Easy to adjust with a thumbnail, easy to activate, and I have found them to be more economical with the amount of fluid used than most others. You can buy them at DX for $3 apiece, but you will wait at least 6 weeks for delivery (slow boat from China). Of course this is just my opinion and I am willing to try any others that my fellow Lotus users suggest.

Not trying to brag, sorry; I might be playing with the lighter too much. I filled it completely last night, and it's about half full now. YMMV and all that, I know.

Just playin' with ya, mate. I love the way Bob Marley responded when asked by a reporter how much herb he smoked. He said, "Plenty." It's great to be happy with and thankful for how much you smoke/vape no matter how much that happens to be.

When I only vaped for aiding my meditations on the Truth this was once a week and a Thermovape T1 bowl could stretch up to 4 weeks. Vaping only once a week keeps the high nice and psychedelic and the tolerance low.

Now that I use to manage my migraines and inflammatory bowl disease my tolerance is up and no amount of herb will get me the level of psychedelic effects I used to get. Would love to have other medicines and keep the herb for spiritual use but haven't found the right ones yet.

On the Honest lighters, I was thinking if I was packing for a long trip I could fit a hell of a lot of Honest's in the space equivalent to one butane can. I reckon I would throw a bunch into the Lotus bag along with some Jyars and put the Lotus into a 7" Vatra padded pouch.

Hey guys. I had not used my J hook, well maybe once, because I was scared to break it. So figured a way to mount it to the stand. Now it's my favorite way to vape dry.

The location from lighter to face is perfect. The control of use is very good and can milk the load nicely. Although, the shorter DIY J-Hooks I put together actually win out on this control factor as can feel and taste the vape more in real time.

Speaking of control, I received my D-020 and enjoy it very much. The taste is very smooth and nice, However, I find I do accidently combust more with it and contribute that to the delay in taste and feeling the temperature to blame. Likely just need more practice and technique change. I tend to push the line and was relying on the feel of temperature. Funny how the technique must change with every different pipe you use with this device. Keeps it interesting.

BTW, I've added this stand with the tube attachment parts to my list of adoptable accessories. ;)

It's completely normal...you're wearing-in your cap. It will get more broken-in as you go, and it will "become yours." Here's mine, and it performs beautifully still:

As for your second question from the OP, you are probably seeing visible vapor coming from below the plate, not from the plate itself. As long as you don't smell smoke during a session, it's just vapor. Inhale a little faster and none will get away ;)
Wow that is actually really cool. It looks more like a flower the more you break it in. I've been considering a butane vaporizer and this just may have sold me.

just got one but my double jet lighter won't ignite anymore. the stock lighter isn't giving me the hits i want... any tips? i'm putting the tip of the flame in contact with the top middle circle and letting it heat for 3 seconds then inhaling.

i want a triple jet large tank lighter now. i really like this device so far, very fun to use.

IMO, a single jet is all that's needed if the flame is adjusted correctly.
Have you tried turning it up some? I found if too high, combustion can happen too easily. A fine line really but well within the stock lighters capabilities.

BTW, just noting that my Jobon is acting up some. It doesn't always "re-set" it's ignitor once flame button is released. I have to flick it down and release by letting it click itself back up. Thus setting the ignitor ready for clicking.
I have a second unit coming, so once here, I'll be taking this one apart to see if repairable. I have had other lighters go south down this same road. I kind of think it's parts wearing but had higher hopes for this guy. Will advise once investigated.

Adjust the torch so that the inner blue flame is approximately the same length as the distance between the tips of two of the Lotus petals. When hitting, concentrate the tip of that inner flame dead center of the Lotus for 3-5 seconds before beginning your draw. Draw slowly and evenly while continuing to torch the center of the Lotus . While hitting you can back the flame off some if the vapor feels very warm or torch it a little harder if the hit feels cool or wispy. It takes a few sessions to get the correct technique dialed in and can even take a few weeks to totally perfect your lighter skills. A triple flame lighter is total overkill for the Lotus IMO, you should be able to get any type of hit you are looking for with the stock lighter once your technique is honed.

Keep playing with it, there is a substantial learning curve with this vape, but figuring it out is half of the fun. Follow the technique above and you'll be a master in no time.

Thanks guys. Turning up the flame definitely did it. I didn't move it from what it was at at the start and it turns out that was way too low. I really like this thing. Such nice features, light-weight, magnetic top, stir stick built in. The gong is also unbreakable, and seems like very little drag.

Greetings after a very long absence from the boards.

Seems I'm coming to the party a little late.

Just pulled the trigger on a the WPA Pipe kit from the good people at ezvape.com and am a soon to be owner of the Lotus. Our friend @BLAZING OG put me on to this baby a year ago and I'm finally getting one.

A few questions for the members of the Lotus Clan:

1. Is the latest version (v3 to my understanding) what is currently being sold by MT on their site? Or is it the high heat, concentrate version that we've been waiting word on from @Max Jitter?
2. Differences between v2 and v3?
3. Anyone have any experience with the VOD Light Pocket Torch?
vod-light.jpg

I'm wickedly excited to take the Lotus out for a spin being that I went darkside and have been combusting for a couple of months now. Looking at some of the cheaper options in DHGate for some nice glass, any suggestions on an under 30$ piece that fits the vaporcap without having to bend the stir stick?

Shouts to @natural farmer for keeping this thread active and showing us the way of the Lotus. MT might consider compensating you for all the work you've done here.

Welcome back @Atomsk In answer to your questions, the V3 cap is the V2 cap with a patent number printed on it. There are no design changes to the cap itself.

The new v4 High-heat cap is still in development and there is no release date mentioned.

Edit (to avoid back to back posts)

I'm looking at buying a 14mm inline ash-catcher from Sunshinestore to pair with a J-hook and the Lotus. Does anyone have either of these two ACs? I'm worried the Lotus cap might be too wide - I'd like to know before ordering if it's going to fit!

The mystery for this lighter has been solved and corrected. It had gotten worse and was rarely resetting itself for a click.
So disassembled it.

P1070019_zpsec9621da.jpg

I found that the ignitor itself was to blame. There is a pin in the part that was getting stuck and not slipping into place smoothly. I could manually push it into place and the unit would work.
Note to self: Don't hold from the front while testing. Causes many swear words and it fucking hurts....

Now lucky for me, I had some of these ignitors from when I was repairing my IOLite a couple years back. At the time I had gone to the dollar store and bought a selection of cheap torches. Took out the ignitors, as they are all very close to being the same, and picked the best one that "felt" the best and had a solid click. I kept the other good ones. I think I got the runner up?

Also found that you can choose your flame size "range" with the placement of the bottom twist plug. It pulls strait out, so can easily be adjusted if your flame is out of usable range or resting at an extreme end.

All is GOLDEN...

@Ratchett i have an inline ash catcher similar to the first picture you posted. I love it paired with my j-hook. You can use a joint clamp to make it more permanent or take it apart and travel with it easily. It doesn't cut down on flavor and it cools down the vapor enough to take massive lung hits. The WPA adapter doesn't fit as snug as i expected it to but it doesn't seem to effect performance and I'm sure each ash catcher is different.

I have the top one as well, paired with my j-hook it looks great. But I prefer using my old ssv spiral bubbler over it by a mile with the lotus, so it just sits there looking pretty and gives the j-hook a place to be.

Thanks for the welcome and info, Ratchett! Good luck with the ashcather, it looks gnarly.

On lighters,

Found this and thought it'd be pretty neat, no specs on how large the flame can get but it'd be a nice way to pair some old Bic's with the Lotus. Anyone have exp on it?
