I think I clean too often to seek reclaim... I hate smoking dirty pieces and they rarely go more than a day or two.
ok i understand how the oil is wrapped in the cotton but why cotton? aren't you breathing in and maybe burning the cotton? is this a special type of cotton?
Go back and read my posts or I'm done helping you. I have answered your question alreadyso to smoke shatter I NEED cotton? or can I put the shatter in on its own? what about mixed with herb?
Thanks!
I believe some people also have tried hemp fibers and have reported positive results (and a better taste when vaping the reclaim), but I don't know how common that is (i am curious to try hemp fibers over cotton, but haven't gotten around to it yet).
Go back and read my posts or I'm done helping you. I have answered your question already
Here I vaped some reclaim for everyone.
Dude you can use it with anything with thc in it. But you won't be able to just load the concentrate in like a pen. You'll have to mix it with some herb or use cotton.
Or you're done helping me? uhhhhh....blow me. I don't see where you posted any video and your other post doesn't clarify whether or not you can blaze the shatter on it's own. You simply recommend using cotton and say it can be mixed with herb. I'm looking for another opinion on whether or not cotton is NEEDED. Clearly from the conversation in my prior post I am confused about the cotton aspect. + This forum isn't called "Ask @VapeNStone" so get a grip and don't be a dick.
I'll have to say that I am concerned about the cracking plates and am investigating possible causes. It may be simple over-heating but I am not assuming that.
In the meantime anyone's plate that is under a year old and hasn't been damaged by over-heating can be replaced under warranty. Send an email with a picture of your plate and your shipping info to
contact@mendovape.com
I think that the brown color is from impurities in the butane. The plate is pure nickel. If anyone takes the plate off and looks at the underside, it isn't the same color as the top. I guess that a lot of the color is due to crud (scientific name) in the butane.
Awesome pics! I was thinking today... I am a righty and usual have the handle at three and stir stick at 9 so im all set to lift and stir in one motion.... could the positioning of the plate affect longevity? I could just be vaped... lolWell, count me as one of the ones with a cracked plate! It's been working fine, but I decided to inspect a bit closer on mine after looking at the few recent pictures of lotus plates....
I'll snap a picture later, but strange, my crack was hiding - looks like mine extends along one of the grooves, pretty much the entire length of the groove, but it's a tight crack, then it hops out of the groove, and into the middle of the plate, about 0.5 mm long from the corner of one groove inwards.....
I wasn't quite sure until I used a toothpick to press on one side of the crack and saw it move
Thankfully I decided to play it safe and purchased a backup plate. (Are backup plates covered by a 1 year warranty as well?)
I'll be sending an email to Mendo shortly.
Here's a picture of the damage (1-o'clock on the dial)
Edit 3 - interesting, took some pictures of the inside of the Lotus while replacing the plate. Note my replacement plate was BENT 45 degrees on one side of the plate when I took it out of the envelope it was shipped in! I hope this doesn't affect performance/life of the plate!
Edit 4 after replacing my plate:
See the attached photo of my cracked plate. Top and bottom both have blueish color on outer edges. Center where heat hits is no longer glossy but has a matte finish. The only color difference I see are the golden brown outer haze, and the splatters of what you call crud. There is a slight golden haze outside the blue haze on the bottom of the plate, but it's there.

It's been working fine
My LOTUS is ghetto!
However it will get you or anybody else extremely medicated beyond reason!
I will use mine until it or die!
My 6.5" stem arrived today, with the WPA handle.
The stem looks great. I don't think I'll be keeping the WPA handle on, though. It feels really flimsy when I'm using it, and it doesn't "lock" on or anything. Is it supposed to? I noticed it said to align it with the magnet in the WPA.
The stem kind of just wiggles around on the lip below the magnet, and above the second o-ring, which means when I go to pull out the WPA, it feels like it could go flying out of the handle.
I just inspected a plate I recently took off my v2 lotus, and it also has small cracks forming, you can see light shining through if you hold it up. Definitely some kind of stress happening to these.Bollocks had a really good look at my plate and have 2 tiny cracks one at 12 o'clock and the other at 6 both coming from the middle of the ridges. Only use lighter provided.

If mine gets any uglier I'll be stoked.Omf, this isn't looking too good! What happened to my luck! I bought an Ascent, hoping they had fixed the issues, it died after 1 month. I bought the Lotus as a replacement because it's a simple device with very few parts that can break. Now the Lotus plate cracked after 43 days of use (though realistically, it probably cracked a week earlier but I didn't notice). Is this a recurring theme? Do most vapes only survive 1 month on average? No wonder most people have multiple vapes!
I should note to people that V2 and V3 of the Lotus are identical, except for the Patent number printed on the bottom of the unit in the metal ring.
If mine gets any uglier I'll be stoked.
Shows that I'm getting my monies worth!
A few cracks I can deal with as long as it still works.
Zig Zags are other option.
