As far as flavoring goes, I would start with just a few drops. If you over flavor it there's no going back.
Also, I noticed that the tank you use, along with the battery voltage makes a big difference in taste as well. I have had a batch not taste good at one voltage but taste amazing at another.
Like GoGlass said, there tends to be a reason why it doesn't taste good and there tends to be some trial and error to get there. I would say if your concentrate tastes good while "dabbing" there's no reason it shouldn't taste good mixed with EJMix.

Greetings, just got done making my first batch of EJmix at a 1:1 ratio. Not crazy about the taste. In the future if I wanted to add flavoring to the EJmix what is the recommended ratio? I read thru the thread some people recommend 3-4 drops while others say 50/50. Thanks!
