I highly recommend a Keck Clip.Would a j hook be able to hold a diffused ash catcher? Without too much wait
I assumed that much.. An ashcatcher won't be too much weight?I highly recommend a Keck Clip.
I assumed that much.. An ashcatcher won't be too much weight?
That was my exact thought.. Guess i should've looked harder. Thanks, ill e ordering a j hook and ashcatcher next week easier to deal with than a 14" water tube!Check out how I use my Ashcatcher with a Jhook. The way my ashcatcher sits its easiest to hold both the j-hook and the ash catcher simultaneously with one hand, that way the weight isnt sitting on the connection at all. Personally this has become one of my favorite ways to use my solo as I can lounge on my bed and can hold the piece in front of me instead of having to lean over my massive double lattice
Cane-Gun proved to be not so thick and sturdy… It cracked when I poured hot water on it to clean it and wasn't that cold… Maybe the evaporating ISO cooled it enough to break with the water… I don't know… I know I need to find another one eventually that doesn't crack that easy. Are there any 5mm J-hooks out there? I wonder… Or is it the heat treatment that makes them tougher?
The Cane-Gun is made with chinese boro. It is more brittle and has less thermal shock resistance than a quality boro like Schott or Simax etc.
If I were you, out of the list you posted, I would buy the 7th Floor product or the one from ALT.
I know you said the ALT one was a bit pricey for you, but as you now have a broken piece, I think the 'buy it right, buy it once' rule once again shows itself.
Sometimes I forget that rule and it always seems to reassert itself
I wish I could afford that when I needed a J-hook... But I had to eat too.
I got mine from colie glass for $25 shipped. It has held up really well since I got it at the beginning of the semester. Blown in Colorado too
Colie is using different kinds of quality I guess...?
The problem for us European is also for the shipping over seas. Most doesn't want to take the risk to do it. In the past I wanted a piece from Colie and we end up on that point.
Any pics left behind? They are extremely expensive IMO but the best j-hook ive ever had came from SSFG

50 bucks + shipping is a little too much for me but I bought mine when they were still part of ETSY for 25. Too bad I sold it!
Any pics left behind?
I'm waiting from a cheap Blackleaf sherlock from head&nature. Cost around 4€ and seems to be abble to work as a natural perc too.
Lets post this one here too, I'm also looking after it. Just wondering is size..?

The sherlock from Oregonglass blower. Cheaper than the ALT one and seems nice for the lotus with the slanted bowl.
