The HydroBrick by Sticky Brick Labs

That's a shame, I hope you can replace it soon. You might want to think about picking up a hydrotube too just so you will always have a backup if the tube or the dry mouthpiece breaks.
Actually I do own a ht, I just don't use it much bc I hate cleaning wp's. They always have a funky smell and the water inside never fully evaporates. I'm a bit of a clean freak as u may have guessed:mental:, lol. It's all good I totally love jr and it's no compromise at all. I just prefer how the maxx feels so serious, that heavy weight and all that scientific glass sticking out:haw:

You should try using your tube dry. It's quite an enjoyable experience and it seems to stay clean longer in my experience.

Of course once you finally clean it there can be water residue. You can leave your glass in your oven at its lowest setting for an hour or so to evaporate it. Be careful handling your glass when using this method! I suggest placing your glass on a baking pan if using this method. You can also use a hair dryer to dry a hydrotube.

Big thank you to @StickyBricks for taking care of me and making sure my maxx stays my primary go to. Super fast service, got my replacement mp 3 days after order. New mp is much thicker and taller so it's easier to observe flame action. So happy to have my maxx back, I get too impatient waiting those 5 secs for heat up with the other on demand devices, lol:lol:

oh come on, do I not tell her I'm buying another vape or do I just say I forgot? looks like I need a brick or jr to keep Maxx company.
honesty is the best policy IMO. There has been many times when I considered hiding my new purchases and quietly sneaking them home but that is just immature, all that lying and sneaking around is just not how I want to live a dignified life. Ironically it was the purchase of the maxx that taught me this lesson. I ordered the maxx during the 420 sale and had it delivered to another address bc I had just bought Jr and a hopper less than a month earlier. The maxx came missing the dry mp, so despite almost successfully pulling it off, in the end I had to come clean about making the secret purchase. My wife picks up all the deliveries so she would have known one way or the other when the mp arrived.

i was totally kidding haha she is home for mail so i would never have a chance, and plus, she might want one of her own, she is a little torch shy with the maxx though

So how do you clean out the gunk from combustion in the wooden chamber without ISO?

clear high proof drinking alcohol and a q tip or pipe cleaners. you don't need much

I've also had good luck just using a bit if hot water on a q-tip, I follow that with a run thru of a dental pick, block a hole and blow......with a clean dry q-tip to finish. No alcohol to dry out the wood and after a day of drying and a bowl, I'm good ta go!

Speaking of..... A rushed hit with a freshly purged/filled torch and I could show you with pics lol. Rookie mistake while rushing and my mind elsewhere, I actually sat watching the tube fill with smoke thinking "wow that's creamy, that HAS to be smoke" . Didn't slow down in the least and I took about 1/2 that damn bong hit. My mouth tastes like ass

Now back to my scheduled day of yard work with VC!

Thanks! I did use the water & q-tip method but it doesn't work as well as alcohol.

BTW I combusted doing the same techniques I always do, except while using this piece:

http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/glass-bongs-bubbler-tornado-fuction-lifebuoy/394698553.html

When you first begin a slow draw there is a slight delay in air vapor flow at the base entry point into the main chamber where pressure builds for a second while the water tornado is forming. All air/vapor flow stops while the pressure builds for more than a sec, and then the vapor and water will come bursting into the main chamber. Don't know for sure but this might of contributed with the combustion. Just an FYI

the combustion taste will fade away when you use it with time (2 to 5 bowls)... but you can also wash the mp and male glass part (if motivated but if not taste will also fade away with time)... the only thing I clean sometimes is scretching out the carb hole with the included dab tool...

@Simple10 nice piece! I find the design interesting and unique.

It's recommended not to use alcohol as it dries out the wood. The manufacturer recommends only using warm water. This is what I do but it will not get out the combustion taste. I've found the best way to do that is just run a few bowls through.

It sucks having to ruin the flavor of good cannabis, but it doesn't take much before it starts to fade. After one bowl it's a lot less offensive, after a few more it's gone completely.

If you want to get rid of the flavor without getting so medicated or using fresh material, you can use ABV instead. It takes a little longer and will taste worse initially, but then you still have all of your fresh stuff for when it's clean. Be careful though as it's easier to combust when vaping ABV. Don't push it too far.

I've seen people recommend acetone for cleaning wood in other threads. It's supposed to be better for the wood, but you need to be extra careful to make sure it's completely evaporated and gone before using your vape.

Whenever I have ever combusted, I immediately clean all glass parts(Mouthpiece, 18mm joint, ect) with ISO. For the wooden units, I use warm water, a q-tip, and a pipe cleaner. I do not recommend using Isopropyl alcohol on wooden units. There other methods like @KidFated. mentioned above where people will use clear high proof drinking alcohol. It will take a little elbow grease to get what you can out depending how badly you combusted. You also want change the screen in your chamber and clean the steel ring above the chamber.

It will take a few chambers as others have stated, for the taste to subside. It has been a while since I combusted in a unit, but it's definitely better to clean it as soon as it occurs.

I do not know if this question was asked before...
but how should I maintain my SB...
as mentioned above I do not really often clean it...
when I do clean thoroughly I will clean mp and 18mm joint with an iso bath... and scratch the sticky ?resin? out 7f the carb hole with the dabbing tool I got with my SB...
what else would you recommend regading maintenance and cleaning (routine)

Maintenance of the pathways with warm water/q-tip works good just the same as if you combusted. Sounds like you do a good job of taking care of your unit.
You're right about the taste dissipating after a few bowls but the inner walls and pathways remain charred black. I just hope this doesn't reduce the unit lifespan

No it should not reduce the lifespan. I agree if you've charred the wood it would be hard to remove but you can take very fine sand paper and try and remove some.
