The Herbalizer

Thanks, I just ordered one from them. It says in stock so lets see what happens.

Now that PlanetVape is carrying it ...
Anyone that owns an EVO or Cloud able to pipe in? How does it compare?
It is all a matter of taste.
Sublimator presents a challenge to a guy with poor visual skills and spasticity.
While the Cloud has a GREAT following, I used mine for a couple of months, and stopped.
So many people say they love it... so it must just be me.
I love the Herbalizer. I use it every day.
The experience is certainly different than the Cloud or Sublimator.
Now to be fair... if you do not generally like bags or whips, then Herbie has a couple points against him from the starting line!
That being said... I would venture a guess that if you were to enjoy using a whip, then Herbie would be a good choice.
Looking at your signature, you have retired some pretty good vapes... whip and bag alike.
from the looks of that line-up, you will likely acquire an Herbalizer at some point... you seem if not a collector, a vaporist afflicted with VAS, as many of us here.
If I was closer I would invite you over to take her out for a spin.

I'd like to get one, but whip and bag are 2 methods that I've previously not enjoyed very much so seems like a ton of money ...

My previous vape had a whip on it (which I wasn't a fan of especially but it worked) and I always looked down my nose at bags.

My opinion of bags has done a 180° with the Herbalizer and I'm rather fond of them, even for just solo use. (I can fill a bag, and sit back and sip on it for some time.) If I want something shorter and quicker, the device is fully up to temp in a few seconds, turn on fan assist, and the whip does quite well.

If you go back a few pages, you'll see a few people have been bypassing both and developing means of attaching their glass (either directly or via tube/whip), so you have that option too.

I love them both. @mvapes provided perhaps the best analogy/comparison,
when he pictured a muscle car with a hemi and compared it to a top of the line lexus.

One's a sledgehammer, and one's a precision... hammer.
The evo can definitely do low temps, and herbie can hit quite hard.
But herbie offers more precise temperature control,
and the evo can milk a tube like no other, no hose required.

I still haven't tried the bags!

Now that PlanetVape is carrying it ... its got my attention ... but for a whip/bag based vape the price tag of $750+tax seems pretty crazy (and I own a MiniVAP, Sublimator, 2 EVO's, ..., so its not like I'm adverse to spending money on vapes ... however ...)

I'm in the same boat as you. BTW, PV is selling the Herbie for $800+tax+shipping so more like $920 shipped. Not sure if their 10% discount code would apply or not. I've had a really good spin with the EVO (coming from the OG Cloud and ticker), and I did have a brief opportunity with the Herbie. My first impression is that I would buy the EVO over the Herbie. Although the Herbie does heat up instantly, I too am not a whip/bag fan (although I tried the Herbie with glass and gong) and it didn't really blow me away enough that it justifies the near double price tag over the EVO. I respect the technology, and the innovation, and quality, but for me personally at this point I don't see many advantages to justify the price tag. My opinion may change once I use the Herbie a bit more, but I am a Cloud chaser coming from a bong hitting background, so I may already be biased, although the Arizer Extreme was my first vape and I had a love/hate relationship with that.

Anyone that owns an EVO or Cloud able to pipe in? How does it compare? Is it really worth the price tag? Does it offer a different enough experience to be worth adding it to my arsenal?

I have both, even though @biohacker has had my EVO for longer than i have owned it!:o LOL!!
And from my honest opinion i cannot decide which one actually performs better for me.

Some days i love the Herbie and other days i love the EVO, been using my Cloud+ off ebay for a while now too.
So both vapes are in rotation, sometimes in the same night sometimes not.

I find that i can get just as big, if not bigger sometimes, clouds from Herbie.
Sometimes the EVO wins in the cloud department.
Varying strains provides different experiences with the amount of vapor produced.

Just using the whip does not happen too often for me and bags are something i tried a few times but found they were not really my thing. No problem as the end of the whip always has my 19mm GonG attached to it. Use it with my Swagger HT or one of my bubblers.

The feature i most love about Herbie is the accurate control and the fan assist!
If you are interested in low temp vaping the Herbie excels in that arena!
No vapor and medicated to your toes, a very different experience!

Could i live without Herbie?
I would have to answer NO.
Herbie has changed the way i medicate and it's so fast i can have a quick one before leaving the house and not hold anyone up! All done in about 2 minutes flat!

SO i guess you can see it is hard for me to decide which vape is better!
Herbie has all the bells and whistles and can handle most substances with ease.
EVO is a mean machine, stripped down to the bare essentials.

Not sure where you are located so i will shoot you a PM!
If we are close you can always stop by and give her a test drive!

@JCat -- You're gonna get a lot of different opinions on that one. For me, I prefer the Cloud hit, but the Herbie features. I hit Herbie mostly through a HT, so I get you on the disinterest in whips and bags. Although I do like the bags on this one. If you need quick sessions then Herbie is for you. If you need accurate temp control then Herbie is for you. If you need to do a science experiment then Herbie is for you. If you want the thickest, tastiest hit available, then Herbie may not be the one...but it can hold its own in those departments as well. I don't have the EVO yet, but it is in my future because I miss the hits. Either one of these vapes can satisfy, and having them both could be called silly unless you are a vaporist like me. Then it's a must.

I forget who was asking about this vape's signature and build up to tolerance. I finally started to notice a need for more herbs about two weeks in...which I have found to be a normal time frame. I wasn't able to confirm this until last night when a newly acquired Lotus had me there in half the meds. So yes, while this vape is the shit, it is not magical.

...sigh...I have cleared the way for the necessary funds to soothe my aching VAS. I contacted Herbie's "people", gave them the necessary digits and Ms. Herbie is scheduled to come see me at my house tomorrow [5 days, they must be gearing up for full retail distribution now especially with PV stocking them].

I was also first hesitant about the whip/bag thing, but the comments here have me actually looking forward to trying the bags, something I had no interest in before. I am normally a water vapor-er, but I'm going to give the dry whip a shot before I hook it up to my DO2O.

I am very happy with the effectiveness of my Infinity Beta  right now, but I leaned to the Herbie because of the ease of use aspect and the tight build quality, not the mention the precise temp control (oh and the fan assist!) Before I was using a Sub UFO, so it appears I am slowly moving up the scale in technology and usability:

(metal mass + torch > ceramic heater + digital volt controller > halogen + precision thermostat)

I am certain an Evo or it's next gen is in my future as well since I am getting a real yen for this vaporist business, but hopefully the Herbie and it's price tag will force my VAS into submission :evil::evil: ya right, eh?

I am going into the Herbie eyes wide shut, not buying the hype about the medication effectiveness, that is said in every forum about almost every vape discussed, but looking forward to seeing its vape signature. I'll be happy even if is only as effective as my Infinity, which I am confident it can meet, but I'll be excitedly surprised if it exceeds that, but I'm not expecting it.

I used a "myUPS" feature to cancel the "delivery signature" requirement as I can't be at home when Herbie arrives, so I really hope that actually works or I probably won't see her until after the weekend.

Just wanted to let you guys know, the Herbie team has been more than helpful with my issue of finding the right transformer/converter to take the Herbie overseas to Europe. So for anyone with a similar issue or just to share the knowledge, Sheila from the Herbie team has consulted the owner of Planet Vape in Canada and has emailed me this:

"We struggled with the transformer issue with other 115v only vaporizers. The only good transformers with a continuous and safe duty cycle are the fully isolated ones and since Herbie requires up to 300 watts you will need at least a 500 watt transformer which in a fully isolated model will weigh 35+ pounds (shipping that much weight costs more than the transformer itself). Best we found is to give customers the specifications needed and then let them find one locally.

Example specs:
500 watts continuous minimum
Fully Isolated – no autotransformers
50 hz preferred"

That's that on that matter, as you were!

erf, i guess my bronson++ AVT-800 is no good there?

http://www.bronson-electronics.co.uk/voltage-converters/bronson-avt-800-voltage-converter.html

continuous load is 500W but it is autotransformer dunno if fully isolated though.

The same brand offers this one too:

http://www.bronson-electronics.co.uk/voltage-converters/bronson-vt-1000-voltage-converter.html

i made the move for the herbalizer too.

Yeah you won't regret it!

I emailed bronson electronics with the specs needed, let's see what they will recommend.

I just off the phone with Sheila and even though I must attend to my uncle visiting from out of town, I must inform the FC community.

Now that I have actually talked to one of most vital pieces to the Herbalizer company, the director of sales, I must say I am sold on this product & their vision. She couldn't have been more receptive, attentive or cheerful while we were conversing.

I am big customer service guy. I've made most of my money in my career with giving customers what they deserve which is a lost art in today's society, great genuine service. Well I can tell you all for a fact this company has not followed the trend of generic scripted answers nor does it feel like you are talking to a drone. Her customer service put the icing on the cake for me. I still am sitting here with a smile on my face. Sincerity is a hot commodity nowadays and these guys have it and a did I mention they have a reliable ground-breaking product to back them up also? Wow.

With that being said, I WILL be placing my order with Sheila tomorrow! I look forward to giving an in-depth review of the Herbalizer and my thoughts of how it compares to Vapexhale products as this was my main concern. I now see why most members are so avid in this thread; seemingly these guys don't cut any corners whether it is customer service or their product.

PV has shipped out my order(ordered yesterday)

The shipping is only 20 dollars, my total was $856 Canadian(tax included), not 920. I think I would have ended up paying more if it came from the offical site, with the fedex/ups fees I read about.

Regarding vape signatures and tolerance...

I've had my unit for 2.5 months and I continue to find my herbs going further than they have in the past with any other vaporizer. I can get fully medicated off a mere .03g of flower. However, I will say that I had a rare session with my Solo last weekend and got pretty darn stoned, so there probably is something to the idea of vape signatures.

Regardless, the Herbalizer is definitely more efficient than the Solo. I can have .1g of flower in the Solo and it will get me fully medicated, but it's actually too much for me to have all at once in the Herbalizer. I tend to hover around .03g-.08g per bowl in my Herbie, depending on how I feel. If it's over .05g, I probably won't finish the bowl all at once or I'll be too stoned!

How did that math work out? 795.95 + 19.97 shipping + 13% tax = 921.99. Is there a discount I am unaware of that you used?

No codes available for Herbalizer.
I think they include the tax in the 795.95 price then just add on the shipping, two options 19,97 or 23.92.

Oh yeah... look on the right hand side of the PV page, by the Uncle Sam dude.
No Tax
No Duties
No Customs
No Worries

LOL!! I missed that...

That's for people ordering to the States I think. If Skeena paid $856, the numbers still don't add up. Nice to see PV stocking the Herbie so quickly though!

I guess it depends on where you live in Canada.
For me in SW Ontario it came out to 795.95 + 19.97 = 815.90 when i added it to my cart.

BUT!!!!

Then i signed into PV and tried again to add it to my cart and everything changed!!!

795.95 for Herbie
19.97 for shipping
106.07 for TAX
921.99 TOTAL!

Something odd happening

This is why I was asking Skeena to see if there was a discount. I too came up with $921.99 in the cart upon checkout, so if skeena is paying $856 - I wanna know why! lol

That just happened...
How is the lingering odor with the herbie? I usually vape in a tool shed but I'm thinking I could get away with using this in my bathroom with the exhaust fan on?

As in most "shopping carts'... that is the confusing part.
Placing something in cart allows subtotal.
Actually signing in, refreshes system with your details, and then applicable Tax (if any) is added on.
You can call them to check on this.

Lingering odor.
Any lingering odor will be at hose nozzle or bowl...with unit closed there does not seem to be a lingering odor.
A small cap can be placed over the bowl, to seal off odor if you want unit open.
Don't forget.. the unit comes with essential oil (or choose your own scent.) and
you can simply set unit for time you wish for the aromatherapy feature.
The aromatherapy feature works with unit closed.
When timer shuts the aromatherapy session off... the unit sits there... closed, like the clam it is.

:goon:"Odor... HA! We don't need no stinkin' odors"

So, my Herbalizer is coming in on Monday. I had to buy one after reading all of the positive reviews here, and to say I'm excited is an understatement! I feel like I dodged a bullet as I had ordered a Volcano through PV a day prior to hearing about the Herbalizer, but luckily for me the order hadn't been processed and I was able to cancel it. There's nothing wrong wit the Volcano, I had previously owned one and I was quite pleased with it for the most part, but the units design is quite old and for some reason, just as expensive ever. I thought about it for all of 10 minutes, but spending another $200 for for an all new vaporizer with raving reviews that was also made in America? No brainier for me, really.

I hope I don't sound pretentious, I'm just really excited. It's been over half a year since I was able to smoke, which has really been affecting my quality of life. The Herbalizer seems much more like a medical device than the Volocano due to the temperature control and other added features. With the Volcano it was always, 'Well, a 6 should do it' and it felt like a bit of a guessing game, whereas with the Herbalizer, being able to more or less set and maintain the temperature exactly where you want it seems like a godsend in terms of control desired effects.

I'm due to get my (3rd) medical card here in a few days, so it seems like everything is finally going my way. I've been reading about how everyone says it's easy to over-medicate, I just can't imagine what'll happen to me as with no tolerance. I hope I'm not praising it too highly already, but I'll be sure to give my impressions once the unit gets here.

This is my first post, but I look forward to getting more involved with the community! Thanks for making my choice so easy for me
