What does the Volcano do that the Herbalizer can't?
It can blow up much larger bags, in much less time, using much more herb (or less...at your whim).
That is what the Volcano does that Herbie can't.
That being said, my Herbalizer is home, and has seen a great deal of use in the past 2 days.
What the Herbalizer does that a Volcano can't, is heat up to max temp in under 10 seconds.
Time test coming up:
While I'm here... a tip on storing the Herbalizer Hose...

OMG VITOLO GOT A NEW VAPE!1 HOLY HOLY Wow !!

I'm excited to see your grand-master opinion on the Herbie Vito!

I know you love the SSV so I bet you'll love it, just like I always thought you'd love the EVO

The Herbalizer was one of the first models sent out years ago.
I also had the hand painted prototype.
The police had my Herbalizer (and everything else) for 2 years...
I had that unit for 2 years before that.
So it is not a new vape... it is my beloved Herbie coming home after 2 years in an evidence room!
I sincerely thank you for your congratulatory tone, though..... It is as though it were a new vape for the first time again!
I let the Evo go, years ago. It was not my favorite for a number of reasons.
(if you look back through this thread, I made a dozen other Herbalizer videos)

Two vaporizers that I have not used, owned or even tried are the Mighty and the Crafty, so I am at a loss to make any comparison.
I tend to use desktops units more however so I would grab for the Herbalizer at home.
Perhaps one day I will try the Mighty, then I can weigh in on an educated level.

I love both for different situations. While both are high end vapes they do drastically different things.

The Herbalizer is a power house of a vape that I can seemingly find endless ways to experiment with. It's never skipped a beat and it is the last vapourizer that I would sell.

The Mighty is great for when I'm out of the house with friends and I want to share a bowl. But it feels kinda pointless to use at home if I have my herbalizer right beside me on my desk.

You need to figure out if you want a portable vapourizer and how often you're going to use your vapourizer. The Mighty will do about 7 bowls on a low heat setting and less on higher settings. Nothing worse than picking up your Mighty and having a flat battery. The Herbalizer obviously never runs out of juice so it might be a better option if you're doing most of your vaping at home.

PHASE3
Manufacturer
Maintenence free, it looks cleaner longer, but mostly the bags are better on the volcano and the volcano fills your bags up around 3 times as fast as the herbie.
So if you want a vaporizer for balloons mostly, the volcano reigns.

THE HERBIE HAS BETTER TEMPERATURE RANGE (range where vapour is comfy and actually visible/fairly thick)

When you say the bags are better, are you referring to the Storz & Bickel bags? Because I use oven bags. I'm a bit surprised by the maintenance free comments, as my experience shows a huge decrease in performance once the valve gets gunked up. I only have experience with the solid valve system.

What I like about the Herbie is the idea of connecting a glass mouthpiece or steamroller and getting a quick draw within a few seconds for an out the door type hit. Having to fill a bag for every draw is not always convenient nor is the heat up time. Although the heat up time is pretty negligible to me with the classic, when I use my buddy's Digital which automatically shuts off I find it more noticeable.

...how about those of us who vape hourly?...
I'm using my vapes every 2-3 hours and the Mighty's batteries would be worn out pretty quickly if I used it solely. My Herbalizer has been used everyday all day for 3 years and it still performs the way it did when first plugged in. The engineering put into the original design by those Ex-NASA engineers is really shining still to this day. Very very few failures have been seen in this vape compared to the portable market and lots of other desktops.

In Herbalizer I trust, (until the power goes out, then it's 100% Vapcap)

Any chance a 3rd party makes unofficial accessories for Herbie such as better bags, whips, etc?
Not really as far as I know. It's been very much a DIY experience for me when I was trying to find bags on the cheap. I cobbled together a Macgyver solution to make hands free Volcano solid valve filing possible.

Almost there...
I decided to have another look at my Herbie.
I noticed my usage had increased drastically due to Herbalizer use, this is a no-no in my vape line up!
Either mod up or get stored/sold.

Since i have a certain love for my Herbie, she was one of the first 50 released into the world, I have a hard time justifying selling her and storing her without use.
A conundrum indeed!

A while ago i modified a glass test tube to fit inside the bowl, this had a small basket screen to adjust the load size.
It worked fairly well but was inconsistent, so not a viable option!

Today i decided to further insulate the glass from the metal wall of the bowl.
There was about a 1,5mm gap from the test tube to the metal of the bowl.
In my mind this air was also getting heated and thus defeating my purpose! I wanted a column of hot air, straight up! No increase in volume at all while in contact with the herb!
So out came my high temp medical silicone, this filled the air gap perfectly!
So i now have a glass lined crucible to load and insert into the bowl. One more step bit i keep the herb at a constant distance from the heat and am now getting very even, medium tan ABV.

This was the first test!
Load size was 0,03g...
Lots of vapor and the flavor was on point, Herbalizer style!

Please excuse the dirty WT... Lots of testing has been done lately...
No fan was used for this test. I did test with the fan and it was also a great but but completely different! The vapor was thinner and lasted for a lot longer, flavor was excellent throughout!
I can attribute this to the fact that i have moved the bowl up from the very bottom to fine tune it to my ABV color. When the bowl is at the bottom, vaporization with the fan is much better.

It's all about being closer to the heat! It would be even better if the bottom screen was at the very bottom edge of the bowl! Hmmm... time to think about a bowl re-design!

This mod now opens Herbie back up again into that quick, micro load one hitter vape!
An oil pad fits perfectly inside the test tube, so it may be even better with concentrates now. I do not have nay at the moment but will fix that in a few weeks time!
The full bowl is still available if i ever need it.

Sorry for the long ramble... It appears this mod works effectively!

I contacted customer service at Herbalizer and asked when/if the accessories that come with Herbie will ever be updated. I was told the bags were recently updated and to look out for an updated whip in the coming weeks

The herbalizer and I put in work these past three months.

What am I to do with all this ABV?

Make ABV oil or butter. Or you can ISO wash it but that's not really recommended. I just made some butter today with my jar of ABV. It's going into making cookies.

Two days ago I somehow made the perfect bag using the volcano bags and herbalizer valve. It does not leak, fills up quickly, and the top is sealed perfectly (I twisted it with pliers and burned it). It took a lot of trial and error but I fucking did it and the end result can be described with one word...

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

Here's a picture of me filling a bag at 430f. This vapor is rather thick for a 3rd bag. Not that I am complaining :)

Damn that's a nice third bag at 430F. Good job with the DIY, I would watch your squeeze valves for leaking/tearing in the valve area. They're not exactly long lived in my experience.

I am quite aware of this.

I actually have to inhale the vapor immediately after removing the bag from the bowl or risk losing all the vapor.

I personally do not like high temp bags for this reason. Having to take hits so fast and so often due to the faulty valve can irritate my throat. I can handle this at 365 and maybe 390, not 430. I tend to use my steamroller at higher temperatures. I just thought it would be a good photo op in my head.

can herbalizer vape regular e-cig oil?

Also, how is herbalizer's customer services? are they similar to S&B? That's a deal breaker for me.

if you use the concentrate pad, and perhaps even a tiny piece of 100% cotton, or de-gummed hemp fiber,
It would give billowing clouds.
You can use materials made for this... Haze uses special wicking material, and there are many materials on the market for "wet oils" or e-juices to be used in a medicating venue.
Personally I would use the concentrate pad, and a small, flattened ball of cotton on top of that, and then start with just one drip, and see where you go from there.

The herbie can certainly do that and @Vitolo 's method should work well but eventually you are going to have to deal with oil dripping down into the guts of the machine. Mistakes happen. There are a lot of cheaper and very effective devices available to vape runny oils. Your call but I wouldn't take a chance like that.

Can't speak about customer service. I've thankfully never had to call them. Happy customer.
