The Herbalizer

I may be alone in this, but I really don't care for using my balloons through water. I felt like the vapor and flavor just became too diffuse.

As @MinnBobber said though, the Herbie is pretty darn efficient with material, and my understanding is that the Aromed requires some modifications to make it herb efficient (@aimlessryan has detailed a pretty nifty method if you haven't already seen it).

I did not initially have any interest in the whip with the Herbie but man, it is flavor country and vapor production forever.

Some members here prefer to use the Volcano solid valve kit instead of the Herbie bags. The Herbie bag valves can tear and begin leaking fairly quick, and Herbalizer seems disinterested in improving their design.

I'm not very impressed by herbalizer customer service nor their research and development. If they can put something so nice together, why make the balloons seem like an afterthought. Maybe I'll ask on the volcano thread which temperatures work! Thanks for the replies FC!

The Vape is a solid device for most, but definitely not without its hitches. I unfortunately purchased mine from Massdrop before realizing that Herbalizer would not honor the warranty as massdrop was an unauthorized retailer. Shame on me. However, I think that a properly running Herbalizer with a few mods (@Ratchett's SONG, better screens, and the Volcano solid valve) really can tackle it all.

I also think that Herbie could stand to research ways to improve their bowl. Mine comes apart way too easy, however Ratchett's mod all but makes that problem disapear.

I would really like to use Herbie side by side with the Herbalaire elite and see how the two stack up.

I'm not trying to steer you away by any means, but I just want to give my perspective.

Herbalaire elite?? I have not seen that one yet.

Edit.. Ooh it's just the herbalaire got Ya. I didn't like the bags on the herbalaire and I would miss grinding my herbs!

For what it's worth, my Volcano Digit can't come close to the Herbalizer in pretty much any category except for build quality. I may be in the minority because I never use bags--everything is through a water pipe. But all of my friends--yay for anecdotal arguments-- like the Herbalizer much more than the Volcano. And I also find the CoolGrip bowl to be very high quality. I break everything but it's a great little piece of manufacturing IMO--it empties remarkably easily, and there is a lot less in-bowl AVB and resin buildup than there is with the Volcano heating chamber.

I found that the coolgrips got real loose on my Herbie bowl pretty early on. The replacements aren't pricey if I remember correctly, I just haven't gotten that far yet.

the bowl itself is pretty expensive, and yeah, the coolgrips do come off, though to me it seems less a sign of degradation of materials than it does extended sessions--when I do back to back max temp bowls it starts to slip off as the bowl gets heated, but it's never caused real trouble for me. It's a much easier bowl than almost any vape I've used--ELBs get crushed when they're burning hot and I'm stoned and clumsy--Volcano bowls perhaps being the exception--and I find even less of a need to regrind or shake the herbs around than I do with the Volcano.

I've never owed a Volcano but I really like my Herbie. It's second behind all my beloved logs. Haha. So convenient, great extraction, versatile and sleek. Pretty impressive tech. :2c:

Perfect virtualpurple! Thank for the help you guys!
I did the hard valve system today and it worked great! I hate the sound of volcano bags and i need to clean the hell out of the valve but it worked great! It filled faster than the herbie bag too!

Happy to be of any help! Glad to hear you like the solid valve setup. I may have to shell out the 100 bucks and purchase myself a kit. You guys make it real tempting.

So my herbie got sick and I emailed Herbalizer support and they said my warranty is void since I used the herbalizer outside US/CANADA. I am very disappointed. I emailed inquiring about prices to repair, they still haven't got back to me so I thought of asking here, any ideas how much to repair a "sick" herbie outside warranty?

So I guess the lesson here is, don't be too honest. I said I live in Europe and I've been using it here for 1 year and a half on a transformer. They immediately made the assumption that the transformer could have caused the malfunction. After a year and a half of usage anything could have gone wrong with a first edition device.

Any americans here that had a "sick" herbie prompt?

Don't know if anyone can help you here. No one has any idea what is wrong so the severity of the damage is totally speculative. On top of that, probably everyone here is still under warranty and hasn't had to pay for a repair.

I will say this, though. The 5 year limited warranty basically says if the damage is too bad you can buy a new Herbalizer for half price if they keep it your broken one to refurb, so I would consider that to be the worst case scenario.

When you bought it did you have it shipped directly to Europe or did you get it sent to a us address and then forwarded to Europe.

If it makes you feel any better, I had bought mine through Massdrop and Herbslizer won't look at it either. Awhile back Massdrop had sent me a prepaid label to return it to them, but has not responded to my latest email.

I'm thinking about just printing the label and shipping it back anyways to take the next step in the process, as there is no expiration on the shipping label that I see.

@virtualpurple did you buy for the 1st or 2nd drop from Massdrop? Just curious because at one point Herbilizer indicated they would honor warranties from the first drop.

I got mine from Massdrop too, so I am very interested in how this plays out.

Almost there...
Just an FYI, i always unplug Herbie after a session.
Ever since the first day of hearing the buzzing converter i decided to do this.
Anything that buzzes kind of worries!

Just to confirm, you are not in the US correct?
So you are talking about an external power converter (like 220 to 110 V) and NOT saying
the Herbie itself buzzes when off, correct?
Thanks

I don't believe mine buzzes when off and plugged in, unless it's a fairly quiet buzz.

I'm not sure if it was from the 1st or 2nd drop. I ordered in July of 2014. Would that fall within the range of the first or the second drop?

I remenber Herbalizer claimed international units (outside CONUS) was not covered in warranty....that's why I never think to buy one, too expensive to buy without warranty! Isn't it true?
