I don't believe Herbalizer wants to rip you off. I do not have any odor coming from my Herbie either.

So with no bowl attached to your Herbalizer and the halogen heating bulb on, if you put your nose directly up to the metal grate and inhale the hot air deeply, you literally don't detect any odor whatsoever? It just smells like normal air?

Sorry for my persistence, but this issue is driving me mad. I spent a lot of money on a high end unit specifically because I wanted the purest experience possible, and it seems like I'm the only one with a unit that actually smells. And then after trying to get my unit fixed the company sends me unit back to me saying it's completely fine, despite the fact that it smells and everyone else's units are completely odorless. What gives?

I can't get my nose right next to it because it is extremely hot, but I got as close as I could. I didn't detect any strange odors at all. Can you describe what you are smelling?

It's like burning plastic or rubber. Something artificial burning.

I just tried this and almost burnt my nose. Smelled like hot air. There was no burning plastic or the rubber smell.

Correct. I think you should be a little more persistent with the company and see what happens. The problem is that smells are very subjective and hard to quantify. But if you don't like your $730 vaporizer, you should harass them until you do!

I've been doing my best, but they've been incredibly evasive with their responses and don't seem to want to tell me anything. I'm very disappointed with my experiences with the company. They seem to be trying their absolute best to stick me with this defective unit and I just don't know what to do at this point. I really like the vaporizer and I doubt I can find a comparable one from another company, but the way they're treating me is just awful.

I had my husband do a smell test as well, and he said that to him, it smelled like the heating element heating up.

I got my pointed glass Dabber to scrape where the whip connects to the bowl on the herbie. I was able to get a nice chunk of Amber goodness to dab. Had awesome taste, a hint of the cbd oil I vaped before. It was very potent and hit me hard. I didn't want to use my Quartz enail because I expected a lot of residue so used my torch and banger. Didn't seem to leave any residue.

Herbie does miracles. I agree with John lewus to get a lot of extra screens to rotate with.

Does a design the way I had talked about make sense? Would that be something you'd ever consider taking a stab at?

Last night Herbie and I got reacquainted
How could I forget what a lifesaver that heat up time is!
Went through two bowls of Indica for my nightcap and folks let me tell you...that. Put. Me. Out.
Fan assist FTW
looks like Herbie bumped herself back into the lineup .

I noticed that it took just a little bit longer for her to heat up and cool down. I'm contacting herbalizer this week to start the process of sending it back. Hope that goes smooth.

I have never detected any bad smells coming off of my Herbie. I would try running on 445 with fan assist for a while to see if you can burn off that smell. I've noticed other users on here have had issues with smell so maybe go back thru the thread to see how others got resolved. I would imagine these type issues drive the Herbalizer people crazy since they can be so subjective plus we are a more discerning group too. Also if you are friends with some other users on here maybe they can give a smell test too. I had my issues with the Herbalizer customer service as you can read a few pages back. Disappointing when you drop this kind of $$ but to be expected from a startup.

How fine should my flowers be? I usually take scissors to a jar full of ground bud for finer consistency.

I don't think it need to be a really fine grind. Plus a finer grind will clog your screens quicker.

Last night when I got home I popped out the top screen and wedged a screen from my DaVinci Ascent in its place. It seemed like it was holding well to being pushed in. I couldn't loosen it by slaking or tapping the chamber. It looked great...

Until I took a draw and inhaled most if the bowl down my throat. Wasted a bowl and spent a few minutes gagging and trying to clean out my whip tubing.

Making numbskull moves so you don't have to!
