Sorry.. I should have posted it. But here is his reasons: Moving faster and building tons of units with the same problems is the exactly what we are avoiding. We have shipping slowly to feel out any potential issues, tweak our design and ramped up progressively. This has been going well and failure rate has drastically declined while production numbers climb. We are working to build a great product that does not end up in a land fill in a year or two.
It's best for the business and I am just chomping at the bit. Especially after they said they didn't see a reason why I shouldn't see it in late aug or sept.

Thank you . I wish they had the courage to say these things more publicly. Maybe it would still bite them big time in the ass, but I still wish they had the courage. Currently they communicate like my local elected officials...maybe worse. Last update was getting better, so fingers crossed for tonights, I'm sure they will address the new delays, hopefully with increasing disclosure this time.

Grasshopper's efficiency and heater style do strike me as a teched out portable log, kind of like log meets Pax in a sense?

In order to receive more income off new pre-orders. Imagine if they stated, "we've got problems with the unit and need time to work it out. Until then, we can't say when things will be ready for mass sales". Who would pre-order a hopper today if that was their stance? I'm not saying they should or would say that, but if it were true, it wouldn't be the best business move to outright admit that.
Edit: The hopper is as much log vape as much as my Persei is.... which is to say, not at all.

He mentioned the benefits they are offering to preorders and backers. But for me why would I order more of a product I haven't even received yet. That discount seems more like a money grab to entice me that I will have to pay more if I wait. Hell I paid 250 for my pax years ago. If grasshopper labs product works good and I have to pay more because I waited then so be it.

They were shooting for several thousand a month (1000.wk?), and likely won't hit that. See how unhelpful guesstimated information can be?
Also, I'm ASSUMING the company's business model does NOT include individual delivery plans for each buyer, so I wouldn't expect a personalized plan @sundaddy... But if HL writes you saying that the plan is to delay all pre-orders until yours is filled, let us know how you got that to happen. Only proven method has been bribery via homebrew.
That was an interesting announcement to @Kamikaze_G re: "tweak our design". Wouldn't tweaked design mean new parts to be manufactured? And wouldn't that mean the old parts (and hoppers built with them) would be headed for the scrap pile? Just guessing but I don't see how the design can change without added cost and delay? But maybe the price increase handles that?

FYI, I just checked my estimated shipping date. Went from September to November 2015. I'm a preorder with an order date of mid-March.

and I thought the same about the tweak in the design, but I think it refers more to either design of their new super machines that will be magic and get us GH's faster, or to how they put the parts together and is bad choice of wording... but who knows. I can't imagine them changing the actual design
