Not to at all justify the 1000/week statement they made about their anticipated production capacity, what, over 3 months ago? Combination of naive over-optimism and embellishment, imo. But that statement pre-dated all the issues, and the fact that at least one of the faults has been either intermittent or doesn't happen until it's been used several times, makes it kinda hard to catch that sorta thing in QC. I can see them realizing early on after making that statement that they had better start the roll-out much slower than originally planned.

Several new happy hopper recipients on Reddit, and despite setbacks I'm still very excited about the vape itself.
But as for my Feb 9 pre-order still giving me October est ship date?:rofl::lmao:

I thought I remember seeing that as well but not sure how that makes sense since no pre-orders have been shipped. Maybe for someone that added a pre-order to their IGG order.

Good point. That doesn't make sense. Backers were definitely not promised an extra battery.

Well, yes and no. I'm a backer. Later (sometime after preorders started) I ordered an extra battery. That got me put on the mailing list of preorders.
So I did get the bulk email from Trevor saying if my ordered was delayed (ha, ha...) I'd get a free battery.
I'm not expecting one because I don't really think it applies to me, but I WAS promised one, and AM a backer.

I agree with the point though- no one has failed to receive the free battery, because no one has received a preorder.

I'm starting to feel like GHL have stalled shipping. Something is not right it seems as if the have been stuck on November 23rd backers for a couple of weeks now. I haven't heard of any November 24th or later backers units being shipped out. It almost like shipping is almost non existent at this point, maybe GHL has been stuck waiting for parts to come or something IDK:shrug:

It is more likely they are working on fixing or figuring out what is causing the failures. A company this small can not absorb endless faulty units without hurting their reputation and/or funding.

Reading between the lines in the last update that is what sounds like is going on.

No point in shipping hopper with a potential design issue. Sounds like they are waiting to implement the tweak(whatever that may be) before shipping the next batch.

The company needs to stop the bleeding of their investments, I did say profits but they don't have any yet.

Folks in the vaporizing community have been waiting for this unit a long time due to the GHL announcing all these dates that this vaporizer would be available to the masses. This was a huge mistake on their part. The company was in too much of a hurry to get this portable to the market. They fed into the customers hype, folks kept thinking this unit would be available at any time. That brought in more customer orders.

The company felt under the gun to get this unit out the door and customers were getting angry. Most folks want quality and a well made unit over getting something right away.

GHL should have quietly put this unit together with time and prescission. Give updates then eventually hinting at a date right before it was released after it had been thoroughly beta tested by their backers. It's hard to put the genie back in the bottle at this point.

EDIT
I agree GHL has risked their credibility, I hope they can just level with their customers. IMO the promising of the various false dates promoted more buyers. We live and learn.

That's great about the replacements but if the replacements are faulty too that gets expensive for the company and risk their reputation in the vaporizing world.

I think it's wise for them to slow down and make the right decisions and know how at this point. With their expertise you would think they could figure things out unless they have batches of useless parts that aren't working as intended.

Hoping things get smoothed out soon.

I guess the problem is if they came out and were transparent and said we have some technical problems and things are going to be delayed, it would have slowed down or stopped pre-orders and they probably need that money to keep on manufacturing or fix manufacturing.

The prospect that there may be a slowdown in order to correct some defect raises my level of optimism. Get it right before you ship mine!
While they've been in development and early pieces released, I'm on second Pax and Crafty #3 is being traded in for a Mighty.
In the "notes" section of my Grasshopper order (02 Aug 2015) I wrote, "Take your time and do a nice job."

Has anyone heard of new shipping confirmations after Nov 24th? They have really seemed to trickle to a stop. Maybe they wait until they have a batch ready before sending the notifications?

At the rate that units are being shipped, they should've just left the original heater design alone and found another way to up production numbers. I'm assuming Buzz's pre production unit works flawlessly with no red hot back end?

Pretty sure the heater design isn't the holdup here

Again, I suspect the sheer massive part-count is the fault here. Sometimes it's best to follow the KISS Principal to ensure greater reliability and decreased production times.

They must have identified a fault in the design and had to re-engineer it. Hopefully they'll mention it in their next bi-monthly update

My estimated ship date still says September as well. Caroline informed me that she thinks I should receive mine before the end of this month. Really? I thought these were suppose to be realistic shipping estimates?

Yeah, I was told the same thing. And last month ;-)

I'm on a 26th order date here, at the rate they're currently going, I sincerely doubt it'll be October for me. Maybe they'll pick up speed...
