I received my GH today as well! Sorry to hear about your damaged units
@HillaryClinton My early bird SS unit also had quite a few slight scratches, one long one right along the clip line
I don't think I'm gonna bother them about it. The scratches aren't terribly noticeable and I could probably polish them out myself if I really wanted to. I think the body parts were sourced from China which could be why they're coming in a bit scratched and shoddy-looking. I sorta like the rugged look for now though.
I cleaned the mouth piece and bowl with iso before doing anything. Cleans really nice. There wasn't any burnoff after 2 on/off cycles. I'm kind of an herb miser so I haven't tried a full (or maybe even half) bowl in it yet. Just used a pinch or 2. For portables I have pretty much only used the MFLB up until now. I have owned an Ascent 1.0 but only used it a few times for various reasons (efficiency). The GH taste reminds me a lot of how the ascent was, but now the vapor ends up inside me and not my surroundings
I take a couple hits on mark 2 for some really enjoyable flavor hits (even with small amount). Then I move on to 3.5, then 4, then 5 once or twice. I might put on the silicone starting at 4, depends on how long I wait in between, it does get hot. The hits on 4 and 5 go thru the bubbler and are still tasty. I never really got the burnt popcorn taste with the MFLB, even though I think I have good technique. And the ABV never looked nearly as even and nice as the GH. No burning at all. One time I used a very small pinch and I got a big nice cloud at mark 3.5, then I did a few hits on 5 and didn't get any vapor clouds the last couple hits, but the ABV was still not burnt anywhere just well done. The pics will make it look burnt but there's no carbon:

All-in-all I have really good first impressions of the GH. I really enjoy the vaping experience more, but that could be because of convection vs conduction. The GH does take one or 2 pre-hits to sufficiently heat the material to get hot enough to vaporize during the draw. But I'll be happy not to have to use the finishing grinder! Also, the GH seems to reduce possibility of negative affects vs MFLB, probably because of the precise temperature control. There may be actives at the upper end that my body doesn't like that I get with the MFLB sometimes. It's a slick unit that seems to meet my stealth, efficiency and smelliness needs well. So far I feel like it was worth the wait, and boy was it a wait
