Current pre-orderers are getting lifetime warranty and low price, though waiting a long time. Both price and warranty could change in the future.
The rate of returns doesn't bother me. It seems to be getting better, as wrinkles in the product are ironed out. If the company survives, units will continue to be improved and supported.

I wait, though hopefully not much longer. For myself I have two (1 SS/1 plain Ti) on order (Aug 03 '15) plus add-on hoppers at lower than current pricing, so I hope that I'll always have a backup while on the return merry-go-round. Reports on support seem to be great. I also have two SS on my order that I'll give as gifts to my daughters; their warranties could go on for a lot longer than mine!

Well there is another vape company who had a rocky start, not mentioning names. As long as that doesn't happen here and my hopper is serviced for the lifetime of the company without any additional fees I'll be a happy camper.

It is. I expect there will be adjustments and an update this week (just my guess; I have no inside information).

Seems like among other things, the holiday weekend had its impact. Nobody seems to know for certain, but it seems like ghl was through May 2015 preorders, for address confirmations at least.

What is your preorder date, @jjl5590 ?

Btw, seems like your question and my answer is better placed in the gh shipping thread. Mods - If appropriate, can you move these for us please? Thx!

I received my March 30th pre-order (Ti Bronze w/ 4 batteries) this Saturday for the holiday weekend! Wish the battery life was a bit better, but it's still plenty good enough if you have a couple extra. The batteries charge very quick on an external charger.

Used it literally non-stop over the weekend. No issues with a hot backend or anything else. From my experience the vapor heat/harshness has been way overstated. My Pax2 has been great, but the Grasshopper is a beast! Definitely still prefer the SSV for lounging around the house with friends, but the hopper is going to be with me everywhere else I go.

Way worth the wait!

In their announcement they said they all shipped May 2015 pre-orders but mine is a May 2015 pre-rder and although I got an Address confirmation June 22 they still have not shipped mine. And since Canada Post is going on strike Thursday, even if they ship soon my package will be held at the border in limbo until the strike is over. And it looks like this strike could very well go for a month or more. I have already contacted them to see if they could ship FedEx and they said no. But I sent another email desperately asking if they could do something and that I would pay extra for shipping. The last thing I want after wai9ting more than a year for the GH is to wait another 1-3 months because after they ship it.

Well I'm a little nervous about my August 2016 ETA now after reading that update. I thought it was gonna be a great update but now I'm a bit nervous.

Also I'm nervous that it takes 30 days to train someone on how to put together a hopper. That's more than a month of work if you are doing 5 day work weeks. That seems a bit excessive.

They still haven't updated their website's estimated shipping date so if you order today it still says August 2016.

Lastly, I can't wait to get mine LOL.

The shipping number tallied right around 2000 units this month. More on the way out this week!

That's an impressive number of units shipped in a month. Also if they have that many going out and still more than a year backlog then WOW have they sold a lot of Grasshoppers! I can't wait to have them out in the world as having a grasshopper is even better when everyone else has one!

First impressions are very good. It doesn't seem to be as powerful or flavorful as Zion for a portable, but the size and forum factor are second to none IMO.

Edit. Will likely not post in this thread again but look for me in the regular GH thread and hopefully not in the warranty thread.

Edit again. Pretty sure my TI is broke out the box. Instead of turning blue the redlights just flash. Anyone want to confirm this as the dreaded issue?

You are right. I jumped the gun. SS came with a charged battery inside TI battery was dead. Both work now, checking if the battery is faulty or only dead now

June Update


Hi Everyone,

We are excited to wrap-up another successful month. Although we did not get through all orders that were estimated to ship in June, we did get through the majority of them. The backlog caused by the charger switch was not fully overcome so we are still a few weeks behind schedule. However, we completed all pre-orders from March, April and May 2015 this month.

The current bottleneck in production is assembly. We have all the parts flowing in smoothly and are working to assemble the units faster. We have 5 new techs learning the assembly process. It takes about 30 days for a new employee to become effective, so we will see the results of more new hires soon.

We will have updated shipping estimates for everyone whose orders were estimated to ship in June but were not yet shipped. We’ve still not hit the mark perfectly with our adjusted dates but they have been much more accurate and we are continually improving. The average wait time for a new order has gone down an order of magnitude in 2016. We are glad you have stuck with the wait as we improved the Grasshopper for everyone.

Accessories, shirts and more goodies are in the works. You will see some of this stuff shipping to you soon. We are continuing to invest in the Grasshopper family and have plans to grow the community aspect of the product. We have been blown away by the photos, comments and creative applications of the Grasshopper.

I'm encouraged that my esd was only moved today from June to July instead of the usual two month jump.
If they can knock out 3 month's worth of orders this month, I'll be hopping in July! (early Aug '15 pre.)

I also like the June Update's reference to community. Though I am not on fb and plan to outlive it, I hope this is a sign of open, happy public relations going forward.

Hawk, I'm really sorry about that dilemma regarding Canada Post striking... like that's all you need to add insult to injury. I hope you get it before that goes down!

How is it considered successful to miss your estimated shipping numbers? If I have to produce 100 widgets a month, and I only did 75, my boss would hardly consider that success. But kudos to them for staying in business, and best of luck to all the pre-orders.

I'm a January 2016 preorder and my shipping date changed today from June to July. Like others, I am encouraged that they only pushed out a month this time. I sure hope all those new assemblers have got the job down pat before they get to my units.

Not the way I read it, and I'm the same month. If they're banging out 3 months of preorders every month and only assembly time is holding them back; Oh who am I kidding, no way you can put a logical timetable on any on this... I'm hoping for next Christmas.
