Same thing happened to me... just like in the picture. Luckily, I have the proper tools to fix it. I was able to reassemble it and place the gasket back in place. It looks better then when I got it, I don't expect it should dislodged as easily now.

On Firefly 1 the gasket was on the inside of the glass view port. Firefly 2 has it on the outside of the glass, which seems to clean much easier. Where your fasteners loose?

The gasket on mine was on the outside of the glass. I think the screws might have been somewhat loose. Not so much that they wiggled, but enough that the glass could move slightly allowing the gasket to move.

Understandable. Have to order some tools and check to see how tight she is. Small screws that I can't see, of course they will be loose.

Found tools in my...tool box. Had them all along, getting old, forget most everything. Mine were lose and that pesky little grey gasket popped out of where it is meant to be and poof, combustion. It is there for a reason and the little bugger is no easy fix if you shake or are half blind or have no manual dexterity. There is another flat gasket for the "hot" ring and in that ring a groove for the round, kinda flat, gasket. Then the glass/quartz/clear piece sits on top of that and is fatened with those three screws through the lid. If your little gasket gets out of round, then it's real fun.

Interesting. Pretty sure my first FF had the gasket on the outside...my current one definitely does. (Seems odd to put it inside, given resin/cleaning issues.)

It is a good idea, as has been mentioned before, to tighten (or check, anyway) those fasteners when you get the FF. Mine were all completely tight, so I'm sure it's not common for them to be loose. But it's easy enough to check (unless like me you had to order the Torx set...:o)

Freaking FedEx. They were supposed to deliver my little red precious today. Said it was on truck but was rescheduled to the next business day. Called FedEx and was told "Home" delivery wasn't available on Saturday except for extra $. Although others on here said they got theirs today.

I had already arranged with my wife to cover today to be here when it arrived. But since the next business day means we'll be working too I had them reschedule the delivery to a nearby FedEx office.

Then I get home at 5:45 and there is a phone message saying my package had been dropped off already and was waiting for pickup, but they closed at 6. I had given them my cell number to notify me, but they somehow called my home instead. And to make matters worse, I drove right by there on the way home. :argh:

Man I'm so sorry. It's as if they didn't want you to have your Firefly, they were jealous. FedX has it's good days and bad days. I worked emergency service, travel, and they were my life savers and at the same time cost me a fortune. Go figure why competition hasn't swollowed them up?

I wonder if the people assembling these units even know what they are for or how to use them? The cleaning issue is why my first one came all the way out when cleaning. Tonight, loose screws were the culprit.

Does there seem to be a good supply of the Firefly? I know we can buy this unit through the company and VaporNation, I haven`t seen this vaporizer sold anywhere else? I will wait and watch this unit and see how this pans out.

I just received my Firefly today (very quick shipping) and immediately put it on the charger. I read in the instructions that a flashing blue light means it's still charging while a solid blue means it's fully charged. After a few hours I checked on it and it was still blinking so I left it alone for awhile longer. After a total of ~8 hours the light was all red which I don't see mentioned anywhere in the manual as to what that indicates. I tested out the heating element without any herb in it and put it back on the charger. It immediately began blinking blue and then after about 30 minutes I saw it went back to a solid red. At this point the device was also noticeably hot. I have now removed it from the charger but I'm worried about it overheating if being left on the charger too long. Has anyone else had these issues or knows what the solid red light means?

TL;DR After ~8 hours light was solid red. Removed from charger, tested it without herbs, placed back on charger and light goes solid red again but this time device is noticeably hot.

I would have called customer care a few hours ago... But then again they are not open, right?

Why don't you try using it until the battery is completely drained, then remove battery, re-insert and try to charge again. If it goes over an hour and still charging and maybe getting hotter better take out the plug and contact customer care... mtc...

Yeah I doubt they're available at these hours. I'll do what you suggested and if the problem continues I'll contact them.

The red light means dead battery...you could have a bad battery pack, my first guess. These lithium polymer batteries should take less than an hour to charge. Getting hot while charging sounds like a battery. Is the battery pack itself hot? These units are made to get hot while in use so I don't thing the heat will hurt it.

The whole unit is hot but it's most likely the heat transferring from the battery. I don't think the battery is dead considering the heating element gets hot.

I placed it back on the charger this morning and it again was blinking blue. After about an hour I just happened to walk in on it doing something I hadn't seen before. The light flashed between blue and green a few times and then went a solid red as before. Definitely seems like something's up but I'm hoping to avoid having to send it back in for a new one.

Definitely not normal. You shouldn't see the red or green lights when it's plugged in. You may just need a new battery....I'm sure the FF folks will get you fixed up quickly. The battery may not be completely dead but it's clearly not holding a charge...it may be dissipating its charge immediately as it charges, in turn causing the unit to heat up.

Have no fear, FF will take care of you. Sucks to have a problem, but you'll be enjoying the warm FF glow before you know it.

That really sucks, I hope they get you fixed up quick..

FYI - When my FF gets hot from using it a while, the battery and the compartment is amazingly cool compared to the rest of the vape.

By the way, are you charging with the switch in the on or off position? I think the light will blink differently once the battery is fully charged if the switch is on while charging, but it has been a while since I did that. If I remember correctly, it will blink a slow blue and then fast green once fully charged if the switch is on.

OMG My wife was over by the FedEx office that is holding my little red precious and she called to tell me that they were open :rockon::bowdown:
I'm out the door in a shot and now my FF is charging up. Stopped by a dispensary on the way home and picked up some God's Gift to christen it with.

Switch is in the off position. I tried to put it in the on at one point to see if that made a difference but it didn't change anything.

Definitely gonna give them a call soon. Hopefully it's just the battery but the whole unit getting hot is concerning.

Red! auh......

I think it's the battery. Mine does not get hot near the battery. Plug in, Blue blinks after charge solid blue. Red means battery is dead. When your charged up and unplugged unit shows green solid. Green blinks when holding the heat button.

OK, after the first couple of bowls I thought this might be an interesting picture of the vapor path inside the FF. Definitely a learning curve, but not too bad especially for the experienced.

edit: I think I need to try a coarser grind next time.

After a couple of draws it tends to fluff up as the air is sucked through it into the vapor path.

Yes, and if you don't put *enough* in the bowl, you get a bit of a vortex in the center of the material...it sort of pools around the edges of the bowl and doesn't cook evenly at that point.

I've found with the FF you are better off erring on the side of too full rather than not full enough. The top edge of the bowl kind of gates how much you put in, ultimately.

I received my Red Firefly yesterday and I am very impressed with this unit. First off it is a work of beauty. It reminds me of a Cherry-Red 57 Chevy:tup: The loading and unloading is a piece of cake. Plus the taste is incredible (also vapor is very cool because of the design). I usually roast mine for like 5 or 6 hits (I like dark abv) and it lasted me five bowls worth with a fully charged battery. Just for comparisons sake, it is similar to the Cera in terms of extraction. I love that it also uses a miniscule amount of weed. Compared to the Ascent, I put about HALF that in the firefly. I was using my OG Iolite case for my Ascent but I have just recently made that my new firefly home. The neoprene case is a perfect fit for my new toy and the cleaning tools. The firefly will pay for itself in about a month by cutting my weed bill in half! This might have my collection getting some much needed rest for awhile :) I am going to go out on a limb here and say this is the best portable out right now (for me:2c::uhoh:) I also love how they made the firefly and did such a wonderful job of it and didn't have to put it through the FC gauntlet to do it:rockon:, no offense of course, just stating that companies can produce an incredible vape based on pure science and r&d:clap:In short, buy one! Like I said it will pay for itself over time and you'll be like :smug:

I like the full bowl also.
