Does anyone know what it means when the blue flashing light turns green? I recently purchased an extra battery, an AC adapter and an external charger. They arrived today and the new battery blinks blue to green. My other two batteries blink blue while charging and when full the blue light is solid. This new one is acting differently and I hope someone can shed some light on the situation.

Do you detect any difference in the flavor?

I have never noticed any real change in flavor, alhough I tend to use a top screen at the tail end of a session, when flavor is not at its peak, so I'm not sure how helpful that observation is. Top screens do tend to raise heat in the bowl, likely from some conduction action, which can be nice if you are trying to boost extraction. And I have it direct from FF that using an extra screen doesn't impact the warranty at all, so no, it won't screw anything up.

I have never heard of that. Do your old batteries act normal in the new external charger, and only this third battery throws a green light? (Wondering if it's the charger or the battery...you didn't specify whether the new battery acts weird in the new external charger, or while charging in your FF itself.)

If your battery works fine, I wouldn't sweat it, but I would try to determine if it's the new battery or the new charger that is acting weird. You now have enough batteries and charging implements to narrow this down decisevely. :hmm:

Honestly, I haven't changed screens yet, but I did try to test it with the methods of other members. It sucks that you have to bend the screen, but I don't think you have to replace/clean it that often anyways.

When I first got my Firefly, I pulled my screen in and out a few times to test the procedure. That screen wore out in a month or two. Since then I put in a second screen, and that one has been going strong for nearly 6 months. In my experience they seem to stay in great condition unless you mess with them :)

One of my batteries does that too (don't have external charger though), haven't noticed any other abnormality with it though

It ended up being the battery. Vapeworld is sending me a new battery to replace it after chatting with their customer service. It will charge for a few minutes and then the blue blinks to green and then a minute later a red light comes on. The battery wo4ks for a little while, enough for 3 or 4 draws lasting ten to twelve seconds.

Just to clarify, all of the components except the new battery play well together. I checked each battery by draining it with 30 second dry runs and recharging in the external charger. My other batteries last for around twelve dry runs each. I tried the new battery in the ext charger and on the firefly and I scarcely got 2 or 3 30 second activations.

I'm pretty impressed with the customer service too, they offered a replacement battery right away and shipped it a few hours later. I've labeled the bad battery but it looks like it will now serve as fourth in the rotation. I guess I expected to send it back but they obviously don't want it back.

Where did you buy it? There's a bunch of Firefly's listed on site like this one: [Link to counterfeit Firefly removed]

Perhaps this is the origin of the fake? I have to admit, in the picture it looks pretty legit with all the packaging, etc.

mod note: Please do not link to counterfeit devices. Thanks for your cooperation.

Hmmm maybe I'll email firefly and ask for a new one then... Sometimes it does feel like a battery went red sooner that it should have but I honestly haven't been tracking it very intently at all cuz it doesnt make it easy to do so

Do I need to register my warranty or something with firefly before contacting them about getting a new battery? Or just the regular email and maybe sales number?

I was asked for my order number and that was it. I went on their live chat and described the problem, I was very surprised at how helpful and accommodating the rep was. If you have more than one battery then just hit the power button until it shuts off (30 seconds) and keep doing it until the battery is dead. It shouldn't take 6 minutes to check and compare each battery. They aren't exactly cheap, so I'd be concerned about one possibly being a dud or just not charging completely. I was personally more worried about damaging my unit by using the bad battery, don't know if its possible but the thought crossed my mind.

The bigger pads like the volcano one can be cut and a piece packed back down into the right size and shape for the FF bowl. It's amazing opening one up, they unfold, they're like a chain-of-mail tube sock that's been packed down into a puck. They're one woven continuous piece of stainless steel wire that passes heat very well. The bigger the pad, the more mini-pads you can make ;-)

So I contacted Green Vapes expecting a complete unit exchange. Because it was in the first week of purchase I was even expecting them to pay the postage. But they're suggesting it's the charger or battery that's not working as apparently it's a known issue. So obviously I wasnt happy about being literally experimented on by trying to send me the battery first then charger then unit if the first two fail to solve the issue. At this point I just wanted a refund which I was told isn't possible despite being told by the sales rep I could send it back eben after using it for 14 days.

Do you think it's a battery or charger issue? No light showing when I plug it in but when I turn it on it turns on with a green light and shows red flashing when I try to heat. Is this a known issue?

I guess there's not much I could do witb regards to the refund so I just agreed to them sending out a battery and charger and am hoping it fixes the issue. Really not happy with the way it's being dealt with though as I now must wait about a week and hope that the solution they send works.

Also would a new lid fit on tighter onto the unit or once it's lose its going to be the same with any lid?

I'm losing track of these various battery issues. To be clear...you only have one FF, one battery, and no charger...is that correct? Plug in, no light no matter how long it's plugged in? Green light when you toggle on, flashes red when you press heat button?

It's all pretty weird. I've never seen the red flash...it should stay solid. Again, without a second device or charger, or a second battery it's hard to diagnose. My guess is it's the FF and not the battery. Any light oddities are almost always device or charger issues, not batteries. It's usually the FF software failing to read the battery correctly. There are numerous flavors of this, but yours is new to me. The FF folks would likely send you a new Firefly.

As for the battery cover, if a new one fits more snugly it would fix the issue. I have never noticed them loosening over time.

I have one battery that starts a charge blinking blue, half way along it blinks red for twenty minutes, then solid blue. I am using wall charger. The battery however works as my others, good for three or four bowls. I moved my charger to a warmer area of my house, and keep the batts there too, doubled my battery life I have a cold house.

Yes one FF and battery and charger. Nothing happens when I plug it in, no blue light. But the unit has enough charge to turn on and show gteen light but not enough to heat thats why it shows red. I want to believe it's the charger or battery because I really can't deal with the ignorance of this company and how they want to try out all the various solutions before sending me a new unit.

Good Lord. Well, it's never boring in FF land, I guess. That's another new one on me. I've seen a red light when a hot FF is plugged into a charger...you get a blue that flashes four times, then a solid red, indicating the unit is too hot to charge. Unplug it for a minute and you get the standard flashing blue till it fully charges.

However, if I read you right, you have other batteries that don't have this behavior, so that means it is the battery in your case and not the device or charger. Which maybe bodes well for @Gee_Grover...maybe all he needs is a new battery. That would make life easier.

Yes, the one battery is weird but functions, others ones have normal light display.
I hope @Gee_Grover has a battery prob. I should try the weird battery charging direct in FF to see if
the light is the same as the wall charger. Again my weird battery does work.

My little tip for the firefly Is to get some of the little liquid pads S&B sells for the crafty and mighty , cut one in half and its the perfect size to fit a nice half bowl . It seems to work better than a screen , I think It adds a tiny bit on conduction the ABV comes out very even and well done don't even really need to stir . I found this out because S&B recommends to do that with the crafty and it works so well thought it might cross over well to the firefly and it does . Also keeps the unit very clean

Interesting. How much can you pack with the pad in there? Do you put it at the top or bottom?
I tend to get a few charred pieces because I don't stir after every hit I'm hoping this packing method maybe an easy solution to my problem.
