After reading thru the entire thread, I took the plunge and decided to order the kit with the globe yesterday. I had a Micro Vaped (v1) but it frustrated me and I gave it away after wasting 2 grams of wax/shatter. It was my first pen and a bit frustrating to use, load, and the strong gasoline smell turned me off concentrates but I have not given up! I guess there is a learning curve with pens just as there was with the Pax.

Dr. Dabber, I did not receive a confirmation email of my order but did see the screen prompting me to print for confirmation of my order. I'm assuming my order still went thru?

What purpose does the globe serve? I'm just curious.

AFAIK it is a visual aid, in that you can see your hit before it enters your lungs. Also, it probably appeals to those used to using nail / dome setups. I am probably missing something, but that's what I can surmise.

The confirmation email might not come through instantly, or may also be in your spam folder. The email should come from Sales (info@drdabber.com) ...but, print or save the confirmation that you see, and in the event that there is an issue, that's your proof of purchase But I would say expect an email sooner than later, probably in the morning, as well as an email with shipping confirmation. If you don't hear something within 24 hours or so, send an email or give a call.

I just received my order of extra parts today, so I have spares of things...quick shipping and all the parts look great! Still loving this pen

What purpose does the globe serve? I'm just curious.

Apart from cooling the vapor a little bit(not sure if that's very significant though),it gives you a nice visual of the vapor,so you know when there's none left to be had and makes for more controlled hits.

Concentrates should never smell like gasoline! They should smell like nothing, the flowers they came from or hash. Any gas smell is not from the flowers, but whatever liquid/gas was used to process the flowers. Smell is a good indicator when purging to know if you have evaporated the liquid/gas. Maybe you should try a different source for concentrates to see if you are more pleased w/ smell/flavor. If your concentrate wasn't purged well enough and smelled bad, it probably didn't vape as well as it should have either.

just hit the DDghost after having soaked my coil and encasement in iso.
didnt reclaim off it. (not worth it IMO)
wrked great other than just picking out a small peice that got stuck in a weird place.
i would suggest it for cleaning just make sure that shit sits and evaps all the way.
working through some shatter like a train.
pics cant happen till i get a camera up and running but i assure you it worked for me!

Urijah, I apologize I have been out of town at a trade show and my computer broke 1/2 way through the trip.. I am sorry you received an open package, and I will be happy to replace it. I beleive Mvapes said he sent you one out today, thank you for that by the way. I also apologize for the lack of communication during the last week and will do my best to make it up to you guys. Update: Just heard from Mvapes- apparently he mailed a bunch out and some people didn't receive them.. WOW usps has sure been sucking lately! I guess that means mine got lost twice? lol. what are the odds? Anyway, He said he'd send another in the morning. I Honestly can't wait to try this thing out so I'll deff report back w/ a review.\

Yep, me too.

I cleaned one of my heaters with a 6 hr soak in 99 ISO, then a short soak in clean ISO. I let dry overnight and did a short burn-off too. Worked like new and tasted likewise. The rubbery coating appears identical to my other heater which hasn't been so cleaned.

I just tossed my reclaim and ISO mixture into my usual ISO + goodies jar. (Which one day I'll surely reclaim and in the meantime ISO's my gear).

Thats a few people saying a ISO soak didnt hurt, very nice.

I tried the Doc out with some hard abv oil, worked perfect, seems to stay cleaner then the dabbler but runns hotter so bigger hits but less of them.

Yes, I soaked a heater, completely submerged in 91% ISO, for well over 10 hours straight; and I noticed no degradation of the awesome black rubbery outer coating of the heater. I just checked, and I cannot tell the difference between the heater that has been soaked and the one that has not...

As for the slippery sleekness of the DDGhost, I have to agree, it can be a negative if not mindful! My condolences to you @Havelock Vetenari! I can only imagine being without my newly acquired friend...rather vivdly albeit, but still. I hope you get a replacement figured out soon!

I got out of the car a few evenings ago, and as I stood up out of the car, I felt the sudden urge to carefully scour the ground for the pen. Just after exiting the car I recalled that when I got into the car to head home, I had sat the pen in my lap rather than put it away (first mistake lol.) So I immediately looked down, and started to search...to no avail seeing as how it was pitch black out, and my porch light doesn't quite reach to where I was. So I turned on the light from my phone, and within 15 seconds the pen was jumping out at me, inches in front of my feet. Mind you, I had taken several steps forward/backward getting out of the car, and looking around for the pen before grabbing the light; How I managed to not step on the pen I will never know, but forever be grateful lol.

Moral of that being, had I not happened to think "oh, the pen was in my lap...it probably fell on the ground when I got out...I better look!" I wouldn't have noticed until I went to medicate, probably at least 30 minutes later and I would have likely not found the pen...at least not easily! The area I dropped it in wouldn't be easy to find it in had I not been standing right there...it all worked out so perfect. So, take my almost disaster, and Havelock Vetenari's full blown loss as precautionary tales, and keep your DDghost close at hand, or in a secure location!

So, you guys keep re-using the same ISO for a few cleanings? Or do you just use the minimum amount each time and keep a great big old jar of it some where until you are ready to evaporate? How do you evaporate it, let it sit, or the same as BHO, get a pyrex dish inside another pyrex dish with lots of hot water in the outside dish? Does the alcohol evaporate at close to the same temp as butane?

Sorry for the dumb questions.

I don't personally reclaim from these things yet...but if I did, it would be collecting the same Iso over and over, and then eventually filtering it through a coffee filter, into a pyrex, to purge the alcohol as one would with a BHO extraction, or otherwise, and then scrape. Think QWISO

I would not reclaim from that. 91% iso evaporates quickly on its own. 70% will take more waiting. I soak it face down in a little until it really loosens up (few hours at least but often overnight) and then change the iso to rinse it with fresh. I even use a syringe with a little iso to do a final rinse and force out anything I might have missed. The taste in the pen is vile by the time it needs cleaning so I think any reclaim would be a buzz kill. But you can just sit it in a dish and let it evaporate and see what you get. Reusing the same oil would be a nightmare making the whole piece, any tools, and your hands crazy sticky.

Ugh... Was hoping for the DDGhost to arrive before last weekend but it looks like it's been sitting in the mail sorting centre in my city for a week now, and was scheduled to be delivered today but never made it. Canadian bureaucracy is really a joke. I hope I'll be able to get some use out of it before I'm forced to take a tolerance break for term papers. Sorry, just had to rant. Really frustrating.

For those commenting about shipping issues...I placed my order on Tuesday and the package arrived today.

I owned a Micro Vaped (v1) and several cheap kits for liquid nicotine but the DD does feel like a quality product when handling it. I agree with what others have said about the "velvety" feel - very nice (Borat voice)

I expected it to be longer but I was pleasantly surprised - fits great in my coat pocket. I received a globe with an atomizer in it, a "ghost" atomizer attached to the pen and another spare "ghost" atomizer as well as 2 shatterproof balls which are cool although I wouldn't want to keep it in my front pants pocket, it would look like one of my balls is deformed and growing out of my thigh lol

I picked up some shatter on my way home and my DD is being charged at the moment. The budtender was saying budder/wax is better for the longevity of the heaters - any truth to this? I read all of the posts and several people commented that shatter works really well with the ghost heater.

Hopefully, it's worthwhile in the long run. The "top shelf" budder/shatter runs $50-$70/gram at most of the local dispensaries

shatter is the easiest I have used so far altough you have to use different techniques since it is so sticky. the longevity things sound like BS to me

Maybe just issues with breaking attys because it's stickier? I doubt a metal coil would differentiate between concentrate consistencies, though comb or wax would probably be a bit more forgiving for loading.

to get that deep clean pick up some 99%
