I'd rather say there seems to be a lot of consistency in the way all units get hot, but a lot of variation in how user hands can handle the heat. Some find it hot, some find it burning hot...
Idk...if somebody claims their IQ is untouchable on SP1, either that unit is very different from mine, or that person has ridiculously sensitive hands (and they wouldn't be able to hold any vaporizer, not just this one).

Edit: To be fair, I haven't tried leaving it on SP1 for a long session. Maybe it gets that hot after a long enough session (like 20 minutes) on any temp.

You're right Reggie. Being an asthmatic I vape at low temps only. It does get "hot" after 20 minutes on sp1 but I would compare it to a moderate hand warmer. Nothing like it's being stated here.

Everything about this vape seems like it could be the best portable yet. I've had a few problems though. Has anyone else had a problem with connecting to the app? And as my final comparison to the crafty, the IQ just seems to not make the same clouds as my crafty or my solo. I'm hoping it just needs a little seasoning and then it'll be ready, but we'll see!

I had an issue when using the app with my cell phone which is an S5. I then tried it on my Ipad and it worked flawlessly. Obviously doesn't help if you don't have an apple ios product.

Davinci finally responded to me stating all I needed to do to get a Full Refund was to Ship the Unit back and email him the Tracking #.
In a following email he stated that ONLY if I wanted a Replacement Unit I would need to get an RMA # and provide him a Serial #.

I have copies of these emails for any Legal Purposes.

I shipped the Unit back this morning and emailed him the Tracking #.

He then replied back to me that If I did not Include an RMA # and Serial # that he would return the unit back to me No Refund.

I replied back and told him to scroll down and read his earlier message that all I needed was a Tracking # for a Full Refund.

He then told me I was Uncooperative.

Well Good Luck to anyone Else who tries to get a Refund from these People.
They will try every trick in the book to get out of it.

Sorry to hear about your situation INeedARefund. It sounds awful, and surprising.

While Cort and Shauntel have their hands full with the launch and only seem to be getting CS up to speed recently, I'm surprised to hear that response from them. They have history here on FC, many of us have been treated quite fairly by them.
You mentioned that he said you were uncooperative, but you didn't mention if you're issue is being taken care of or not.
If not, you may want to reach out again and, knowing your justifiably feeling mistreated, try to mask your frustration when communicating with them. You've made your legal position, and willingness to take action in the face of unfair treatment clear, you have a position of strength. You can re-approach peacefully knowing the law is behind you.
I only stick my nose into this because it's hard to imagine, not only DV being so unfair, but them refusing your refund.

And as crazy as it sounds, I would still recommend a replacement unit instead of the refund, the IQ is that good.

Recieved black IQ today. Wow! The taste is remarkable. It's very elegant and sexy. Thing is a beast though in its appetite for flower. Tried 3 different strains. Noticed a light tingling glaze in my mouth from fresh hits. When the flavor drops like all vapes it handles itself well. Spent yet cool taste.

Incorrect again. You were banned from this forum for breaking forum rules regarding bashing of companies and keeping harmony in the forum. And were given a break the second time you broke the same rules after getting a warning point for a previous post. Alas, the front left metal casing (where the poker is kept) just came dislodged. I can't get it to reset, it's just sticking up. Help?

There are comments from some users about heat problems. This looks like it warped from heat. If there was adhesive holding this metal casing in place it likely failed from excessive heat as well. While most portable vaporizers are expensive I learned they can't be used heavily like desktop units. It's best to rotate using a few portable vaporizers or just spend the money on a desktop unit.

Yup! Our shipping schedule is back to normal. You will only be able to place orders for IQ's in colors and quantities that we have in stock.

Is the IQ suppose to work while charging? Mine seems to turn off while I have it plugged in.

The IQ uses more power than it can charge the battery with. If you would like to use the IQ while charging you will need 10-15% charge before turning on the vape and continuing to charge.

Actually just called every HS within 30 miles of me and 1 had an IQ in stock and it was the only one left. High tailed it to the shop and picked it up in blue although it looks more silver to me.

The Blue is one of my favorites! What was the name of your LHS that you got your IQ from?

So i wanna buy the IQ asap, but i need to make sure that all issues that has been reported are already solved in the new units send out. (I heard about superglue used on some parts, unit acting weirdly, the zarconia ball being damaged/stuck when the unit arrives) I'm not too excited to hear that there is pretty big chance that your quality control wasn't good enough and i may get defected unit. Thanks! :)

To calm some of your concerns. We do not use super glue at all in the vape. There are a few parts that are applied using a Heat safe adhesive but it is by no means the OTC super glue that is not safe to be used with heat or inhaled. I've also only heard of 1 chipped pearl, the pearls can be difficult to unscrew because it is on a silicone post that flexes when you twist it. The best way to adjust the pearl is to push and twist when adjusting.

This vape is sick. I purchased it locally on a Christmas sale and I'm really liking it.

I'm using the 10mm adapter on a whip to drive some glass. I'll be getting @Ratchett 's waterpipe adapter so I can eliminate the whip. This thing RIPS through glass at 420-430* and is super smooth. Heats up really fast too. This is going to be my portable Cloud Evo for when I want to bring my glass somewhere but won't be able to plug in somewhere.

Highly recommended. I'm thinking about what I can experiment with in the flavor chamber.

Awesome Picture! Glad you are loving the IQ! What was the name of your LHS that you got the IQ from?

Does anybody have tips on how to clean between the mouthpiece side of the oven and the o-ring that receives the flavor chamber? I feel like a lot of herb/resin is getting caught in there and blocking the five airholes from the oven to the flavor chamber.

I got down in there with a soft dental pick (my dabber) and was able to scoop out a lil ball of reclaim/weed that was definitely blocking airflow. Can the o-ring come out? That would make it a lot easier.

Best thing to use in that space is an alcohol dipped q-tip. It should slide past the o-ring and into that cavity and you should be able to twist and clean out that space!

And I must say, the rep has been incredible on this page, dealing with us freaks and connoisseurs, almost everyday. Hats off to the Davinci rep! :clap:

Anybody know how long the process to RMA takes?

I sent in my unit for a replacement over a week ago, and have not heard anything from them.

Our RMA process typically takes 4-5 days once we receive the unit back. We have had a strange shipping/ working schedule the last 2 weeks with the holidays and the mess with all of the shipping carriers. Might take a little longer during the next week until after the holiday.

Man...I let my bowl get dirtier than normal (because I was away from home and exclusively using IQ) and I realized there is a hairline crack in the bowl...

This means it had to always be present because I never dropped it.

Unless the zirconia bead cracked it while closing...

@Davinci_vaporizer what's the procedure for something like this?

I've only had it over a week...what's the RMA turnaround time look like?

The IQ is a whole other animal with an empty flavor chamber! Looking at the picture I actually don't think it's a crack but rather the seam of where the ceramic was rolled into it's cylinder shape. Kind of hard to tell by the picture.

I literally can't hold it. Would this be a reason to RMA? or is there some sort of cover for it?

The external shell of the IQ under normal conditions reaches 89-98 degrees like many other metalic shelled vaporizers. Do you think that the external shell of your IQ is getting warmer than that?

Thanks; not sure why you assumed I've used this unit heavily? I just got it a few weeks ago, and am just getting started :brow: I have two desktops, and my MIGHTY reigns supreme as my daily driver. I do switch between vapes constantly. I've certainly used my Ascents heavily over the years...
I don't think the above problem has anything to do with heat or overuse. (Also I'm a low temp vapor, 330-360)

What happened was, I was trying to get the flavor chamber out, and only the cap came out; so I was fishing with the poker to try and pry out the chamber when I noticed I was lifting up the whole metal casing. So I think it was me, and not excessive heat. Waiting for @Davinci_vaporizer to advise....

What I don't understand, is, if the unit if never going to charge to 100% while you vape, but instead go the other direction, why are you presenting it as a viable option? For example, If battery is at 30%, and you plug in charger and start vaping, It won't stay at 30%, it will still go down, correct?

The best way not to beat this horse, is for Davinci to let us see the actual battery percentage in the app. Those little bars are ok for on the fly, but we could make smarter decisions if we could see it. (Cue Zappa)
I'd like to know that I have 11% left, or 23% left.

Then, we can test it accurately; by charging from zero to 15%, and seeing if we could get a full 10 minute session without it shutting off. Personally, I would just be steering people towards batteries; the DAVINCI IQ ROCKS even though it doesn't have pass through charging (that's right, I said it!) Also, not sure I would be comfortable charging while vaping at higher temperatures, it gets warm enough :)

From what it looks like and from what you discribed in your post. You might have bent the metal platte slightly with the metal pic when you were fishing our your Flavor chamber. It shouldn't effect the overall effectiveness of your vape. The metal there is very thin and can bend and be difficult to shape back correctly.

We bring it up as a feature because there are several of vaporizers on the market that you can nor use the vape AT ALL while it is charging. While you are correct if you have 30% plug it in and start using it when you are finished with your session you will still have less than 30% battery however the rate in which the battery depletes itself is reduced so that you will be able to finish your session with that remaining bit of battery.

We were expecting to get our Canadian and European distributors vaporizers by the end of this month. I believe that it most likely will be closer to the mid-Late January before we have stock to send them.

A) You can order from any CDN vendor that is on our authorized reseller list on our website here. http://www.davincivaporizer.com/authorized-resellers/. As far as which one will have stock first it is really tough to say. I'm sure Toronto Vape, Vaped.Ca, Namaste, and BC vapor will likely all have them around the same time I'm not to sure who has priority in that queue.

B) Currently it might be faster to order direct through us or another authorized dealer. Currently we have a promotion for a free carry case with your order. If you are a returning Davinci Customer you still qualify for our loyalty program and will receive $51 store credit.
