It might be better to use both at the same setting (here it would be 410 since the Mighty can't run hotter).
I figured Max is max...I wish the mighty went to 430...but then again from everything I understand vape Temps aren't an exact science anyway?

My favorite two vapes :)
I think the more time goes on the mighty gets used less...I kinda want to upgrade it to a 'Canoe before my two years are up.

Something in me is just resistant...the mighty is the vape that broke my affair with combustion fully...before that I was just part time vapin'

How is your new RMAed IQ? Does it still as hot or is it less now?

And let me know if you find a case/holder for it.
I can't vape all of my weed within 5 minutes, and having to turn it off at 5 minutes and having to wait another 5-10mins for it to cool down just to turn it back on again to finish my weed is kind of time consuming, a 10 minute "task" turns out to be a 25 minute "task". It's also a waste of battery (Heating it up, cooling it down, and heating it up again just for ONE bowl instead of it staying at a consistent temp for 10 minutes)

You can also avoid the heat by holding the top and bottom of the vape only, but it seems like you can drop it easily like that.

EDIT: is the RMAed IQ a brand new device with retail packaging or do they just send you the device only in bubble wrap?
My RMA IQ is the same one I returned, CS stated:"Our technician looked at the unit and found that there nothing wrong with it. The unit getting too hot is normal to experience and has to do with vaping method, not a issue with the unit itself. If you have to pause for 15 to 20 seconds or put it down at all, we recommend to putting it on stand by mode so it stops producing vapor temporarily".
The IQ still gets TOO HOT to hold in the hands, my vaping method is at 370-385, which I consider to be a normal temp. I guess I'll go back to my Arizer Air, toss the IQ back in its box until vacation time, just too exhausted dealing with CS, RMA's etc. etc. etc.

Very sorry to hear that.. :(
Wish they would offer you to take it back and refund you. I know all this heat talk is very subjective - but from some of the temp measurements I've seen on here it's not just a minor thing but some real heat. Using a vape should be fun or at least comfortable in a way, instead of risky and painful. But this sounds like suffering to get medicated or find your own solution to deal with it.
Really sad to see this. Had this on my wish list for quite a while despite being conduction. But CS, QC and heat are striking it out in my book. Hopefully there will be a revised version of this one day

I don't have an IQ but 370 or 385 on one vaporizer doesn't mean that another vaporizer will feel the same. I would just use it at a lower temp. I really haven't read up on this unit yet. I just glance in here every so often.

It's a bummer when you spend so much money on a vaporizer and you don't like it that well. Ive been there a few times. I try to adjust the unit to fit my needs. Sometimes it's a different temp or an extended air path. Vaporizing using a bubbler at home might help too.

Sucks that they didn't do anything about it but the heat issue is easy to avoid, just annoying. You can wrap around like the leather straps like Glass004, or you can hold the top and bottom of the vape also.

What they should do is give customers warning that the unit will reach so and so degrees after so and so minutes, this way customers can make an informed decision. Their current practice right now is ridiculous, hiding behind a screen of ambiguity and saying a major problem with their product is just subjective sensitivity of their customers. Definitely not the right way to cement a loyal customer relationship.

I found a glass water pipe at a local shop with a 10mm adapter for my IQ. It is an amazing experience! It's hard to not use it now.. I might just have to get the small nectar collector for when I am out and about!
The broken pearl post that didn't get sent in the package, and my minor mouthpiece lid misalignment are my ONLY complaints. I love the thing, I don't know if it is from working in kitchens, building up a tolerance for heat on my hands, but it doesn't feel too hot to handle at all to me.

You should take pics of the water pipe and also of the "misaligned" mouthpiece, I keep hearing you talk about it but never know what you mean.

It's here! A day early but that is not a complaint at all. I didn't get any customs charges either so that's nice. Unfortunately for me I haven't got any herb in so I can't properly try it out. Connected it to my phone with no issues and did a quick heat up. Doesn't seem to get too warm to hold. Kind of a comfortable heat for this Scottish weather.

Very much looking forward to trying it out for real later. :D

I will try. Just made an imgur acct..

Okay cool, I think it worked. You can kinda see on the left side, where the mouthpiece lid hinge is, the small gap. Like I said, it doesn't affect performance at all. I just expected it to be flush, like all the pictures I saw by davinci before purchasing.

Oh wow. So after being told for two weeks I was getting a new rubber post in the mail, (they said they would replace the pearl too, since it had a little bit of rubber stuck in it) I got an emailed invoice containing on the list: 1 IQ Pearl (IQPRL), 1 IQ Pearl Post (PPST).
One more week, and I get my package, take out the invoice.. it's not the same one they emailed me, it only has the pearl on it. Of course it was Friday evening when I got it. So I send out my email, and waited until today. I got my reply, it was pretty much just them apologizing for that, they don't have any in stock, and they will get the back orders out asap.
Which would all be fine and dandy with me, if they had just told me up front, or in the middle, or whenever they knew! (They always knew!)
Instead, I get a fake invoice by email, which was different from the invoice in the shipment. I got told multiple times by the representitive on here, and by email, that my post was shipping out soon.. and "your new post is shipping out today!" And I don't find out what is really going on until a month after the original issue.

It sucks, I LOVE the IQ. I'm not trying to bash the company.. but these are some seriously shady practices.

Just got my IQ and I love it, but my device buzzes like people have said and that it is normal and I'm sort of fine it with for this great device, but it buzzes the WHOLE session, is that the same for you guys?

Yes the buzzing, clicking, or hissing sound that many have reported is normal on the IQ. This sound is the circuit board controlling the power between the battery and the oven. You will hear it as any point that your vaporizer is heating up or working to maintain the heat.

So I have been following this forum for some weeks. And at last, I am getting my Vape this week.

Anything I should do before using it? Or any tips? :D

* Do a burn off cycle when you first get the vape. Just turn it on and let it run a session on Smart Path 4.

* You can either grind your herbs or just pick large chunks off the stem and pack them in. Make sure to pack tight. By that I mean tight enough that your herb doesn't fall out when you turn the vape upside down and not so tight that you can not draw through it.

* For your first session start with Smart Path 2 or 3 so you can get a full range of temperatures and see what this vape can really do.

* Pair your vaporizer with the Davinci App and explore some of the features on there like Custom Smart Paths, Plant guides, Settings adjustment, and Walk throughs. The App actually has a really great info and support section with in app videos showing you how to do things like clean your IQ, swap out parts, and activating features.

Some people (myself included) have had startup problems with the app. I suggest that you get to know the IQ on it's own before pairing it to your phone. The app is great and I love being able to define my own custom smart path but all that stuff initially gets in the way of getting to know the vape.

Enjoy. You'll love the IQ.

I agree with you the App can be a distraction if you do that all during your first session. I would recommend using the Vape for at least a session or two then exploring the app. In the app in the info and support section there are lots of great videos, tips, and tricks that can be beneficial when first learning also.

Got my RMA finally, seems CS issues must be thinning out bc the oven has been a consistent issue for me since the get-go. The RMA istructions were to remove all glass parts, does that mean I send it back without the flavor chamber? What about the battery and pearl? Can some one please fill me in on what has to be sent back with the IQ besides the charger? Any info would be appreciated, been dealing with this for a month so I hope to avoid any unnecessary delays. Also I believe customers who purchase vaporizers get points? I registered my IQ which I bought from Vape World but I don't see any points reflected in my account, just thought to see if anyone has info about that. Thanks ahead everyone

That template is old for the Ascent and needs to be updated. Sorry about that. For the IQ RMA all you need to send back is your IQ unit, and the battery it came with. Then just mail it back to the address that was provided with your RMA# also on the box.

Dude what is your Instagram account? Share it and I'm sure you'll find a few new followers from here lol.

And then @Davinci_vaporizer is not going to tolerate a dissatisfied customer. If CS isn't up to standards, I have experienced him making things fair and right. I use current CS issues as a chance to develop my patience.

Doing our best man!

Well I've got mine arriving on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it but am now quite apprehensive after reading these problems with both the vaporizer and RMAs. I live in the UK so I expect it'll be even longer to sort out if there are problems. We'll see I guess. :\

We will be hiring a repair technician in the EU shortly so any Warranties that need repair in the EU will have a faster turn around time. Also trying to do the same in Canada.

@ Splorgle

I feel your frustration. I really do. I feel everyones frustration in this thread. I am currently going through the exact same thing.

Sorry for the rant below, but I thought I would post an update for any future buyers/current owners. In reference to my post on page 39. I had received an IQ with a damaged zirconium pearl. It had scuff marks and had been chipped. I had contacted DV the same day I received my IQ, December 22nd. I received an email the following day from Tim saying they are sending an replacement pearl. Three weeks later no package and no shipment details so I ended up emailing them again.

Finally, one month later I had received my replacement and message saying it shipped. Unfortunately they didn't send me a replacement pearl. What I did get was a USB Car Charger... :|. I haven't had this vape for a full month yet and things seems to be already off to a shaky start. I sent an email to Tim asking if replacement parts for the IQ are typically this long. I really hope not. I'll reply if/when he responds.

And you know what makes this even worse. The last email Tim sent me stated that the zirconium pearls are on BACKORDER. Now I don't know when I'll get the replacement part. I am really contemplating if I should keep this vape. Having to wait (over/more than a month) I am not sure how long to get a replacement part is a bit excessive.

Well you can keep the car charger since that is our mistake. I believe we are now in contact via DM I'll work with you to get a new Pearl and Post.

@Davinci_vaporizer Here's what I love about the IQ and what I wish was improved to create my perfect vaporizer.

IQ Pros:

  • Design and Build Quality:
The best part of the IQ by far is the metal case and form factor. It fits perfect in the hand and is near indestructible.
The Zirconia is also incredibly important for this vaporizer to ensure that parts aren't broken easily and the flavor is great because of the vapor path material.

  • Performance:
Removable battery, isolated vapor path, precision temperature, very good vapor production. All of those are my most important factors and the IQ delivers on all fronts.

IQ Areas For Improvement:

  • The Heating Method:
The oven technology on the IQ is very good, however I think the IQ has maxed out the potential of the ceramic conduction heater. It works great but some new heater technology could very well make the "IQ2" my dream vaporizer.

If I had a vaporizer with the body of the IQ and a heater the likes of the Grasshopper/Firefly 2/Milaana/Mighty it might be the cure to my VAS... (at least for a little while ;))

  • Unloading The Oven:

So I'll start off by saying that loading the IQ is perfect, very easy, clean and satisfying. That said, unloading the IQ is the opposite. For me unloading can be messy and annoying.

The IQ pick tool is invaluable but the IQ oven is so deep the tool doesn't reach deep enough to get all of the material out of the oven which makes me have to dig around a lot which runs the risk of my burning my fingers and I have to make them smelly as well. A more effective tool to unload the oven and clean the stuck debris would be a godsend.

The positioning of the 4 air holes in the IQ oven make it so I cannot just blow through the vaporizer to clear the oven ala my Vapcap. This ties in with the heater technology but if there were more numerous smaller air holes in the heater I believe unloading could be made much easier.

  • Cleaning the IQ:

Cleaning of the IQ is not terrible but it is definitely not the best vaporizer I've had as far as cleaning goes.

The biggest cleaning issue I run into is the infamous area in-between the flavor chamber and the oven. This area can be cleaned but it will continually build up residue that will eventually require a deep cleaning.

Another cleaning issue I run into is that the "corners" or the bottom of the oven seem to hold small pieces of material that I can only really remove using a needle as the IQ tool is a bit too thick to get into the corners.

My perfect dream vaporizer includes a vapor path that can be removed and cleaned in it's entirety. The IQ is 90% of the way there, the only problems are the area underneath the flavor chamber oring and the depths of the oven.

Overall: 9/10

The IQ is the definition of solid an delivers on all fronts. I think the IQ is the best version of a portable conduction vaporizer that I've seen to date and it delivers in all areas. It's very very close to being perfect but there are a few minor kinks that just hold it back from perfection.

I think the IQ is the prototype for the perfect portable vaporizer, it's not quite perfect but it comes damn close.

Great review! Love the feedback in the room for improvement. We always use your feedback when designing new products.

I think it does pretty good next to the mighty....just some vapor porn for this Saturday night and anyone doubting the IQ's abilities!

Great video man! All of your videos actually keep them up!

Dissatisfied customer from the UK here.

I was charged 60$ tax at checkout by DaVinci. And then another £63.08 by HMS Customs.
Upon arrival i noticed the package was described as a "gift".
To charge a customer for Tax and then send it as a gift hoping to get away with it is shady at best.

I have sent an email two weeks ago and called multiple times, no answer from anyone at DaVinci.

Do i really have to join a forum to get customer support from this company?
(Also my package was missing the free carrying case i was supposed to get.)

You don't have to join this forum to get CS but it helps ;-)
The phone for CS is useless at present. Chat on the web page works during hours. PM @Davinci_vaporizer on this forum is a good option too. We are lucky he gives a sh#t and spends time on the forum helping us out. Until they get more people trained and working in CS, patience is the best path to follow.

Hola everyone -- my first time here -- thanks for the most extraordinary forum to understand becoming one with our vapes!

Just today sprung for an IQ. Unboxed. Plugged in the USB to my computer to charge aaaaaaaaaaand -- the LED just shows the charging lights seeking a charge but the level never indicates progress and the unit never charges. I had it plugged into my computer for 4 hours - nothing. Plugged it into an adapter and moved it to a wall socket. Same thing. I tried to turn on the unit while plugged in. It vibrates. The LED does its little "on" show, then immediately resumes the "seeking charge" lightshow. 8 hours in the wall. When unplugged, completely dead. So it is active while plugged in, yet it doesn't turn on and stay on. When I check battery power nothing happens -- the "seeking charge" light display is all that happens. Unplugged, nada. No activity. I paired it with the app -- says the unit is turned off. No apparent way to check battery life on app...
I've popped the battery out and back into the unit again 3 or 4 times and tried charging again. Nada.

I have such high hopes for IQ... very anxious to get this puppy alive and kicking! Any help on this would be appreciated greatly!

Just a thought....battery installed correctly? Positive end in first...negative end against the door? Not trying to insult you....it just sounds like the battery is installed backward.

Not insulted at all! The battery is installed correctly -- negative to negative. I popped it out and back in several times. No change at all.
It could be your unit came with a faulty battery, PM @Davinci_vaporizer immediately so they can send you a replacement right away. I suggest investing in a battery charger, makes things a lot simpler and you'll always have a spare battery to swap when one dies.

Everyone here has given such great suggestions..I would start with the most simple things first.

For one...does your charger/computer provide enough output amps to properly charge it?

Also did you try another chord? Maybe the one they sent you has a short in it.

After that I would try to get another 18650 locally and try it. (While I was in contact with davinci about a replacement)

If none of thoservice things worked id start to suspect the device.

Then it would be hard reset and if nothing...service the IQ
