I hope I am posting this in the correct place.
I received my new DaVinci IQ mid-day yesterday.
Purchased direct from DaVinci.
I am a complete novice to vaping.
Prior to receiving the IQ, I studied the PDF Owner's Manual,
read all the FAQs on the website.
I purchased a second battery from DaVinci
on the same order with the new IQ.
I would have purchased the DaVinci external charger,
but it was out of stock.
So I purchased a
Nitecore Intellicharger New i2-T420170620 to charge batteries.
Out of the box, the battery in the IQ was fully charged,
the spare battery was depleted according to the external charger.
Placed the spare battery in the external charger and set it aside to top up.
Connected the app (iPhone 7+, iOS 10.3.3) with no issue.
Loaded up the oven, my first session was quite pleasing.
Cleared and re-loaded the oven,
an abbreviated second session was satisfactory.
Re-loaded a third time, performance seemed to diminish,
so I suspected the battery was running low.
The LED battery charge display indicated 1/2 charge at this point.
By this time, the spare battery had been on the charger for 10 hours
and showed as fully charged on the charger LED display.
Now to my problem.
After swapping in the fully charged spare battery,
the IQ will not power up.
Returned to the original battery, which was not dead when I removed it.
Still will not power up.
I am keenly aware of battery polarity and am certain that
a) the positive terminal is up when inserted
b) I have never inserted it with incorrect orientation.
Inspected the battery chamber under bright light,
appears pristine, no foreign material that
might interfere with the negative contact visible.
I also quickly learned of the finicky nature of the battery cover latch.
After latching the battery cover, with top cover still open,
I shake the unit upside down to pop out the flavor chamber,
just to confirm the battery cover is securely latched.
Attempted a factory reset on each battery.
Still can not get the IQ to power up.
Any suggestions?
