@GoldenBud: I believe that on one occasion Troy combusted at 30watts using a Tubo.
@Verax: Thank you.

I'm also very curious if any Tubo user has tried NFE Team's Artic Fox, instead of the Tubo firmware & GUI program? The NFE Toolkit has an excellent Windows & Mac firmware installer GUI (unfortunately no Linux version). I do recall that some users installed the NFE Toolkit GUI program in order to load non-Artic Fox firmware, e.g. sur_my_evic, onto their mods.

@TastyCakeWasTasty:
Instagram @420_vapezone & on his youtube review of the Tubo (www.420vapezone.com). I do not know how to find the particular sesh on Instagram, my app does not seem to retain his very lengthy seshes. His Instagram bio only shows the short clips that run in the ribbon at the top of the Android Instagram app.

impossibro on 30w unless the hit was very long like 40 seconds?
60w maybe?

Troy hits his vapes thru a water piece very very hard! I thought it was 30-35 watts, but it was some time ago now. If I get the chance to ask him, I will update.

I am very wary of using wattage mode (except for carts) because of my & others' experiences using the Sai. People were blowing their ceramic coils rated at 40-45watts using wattage mode. I use TC, set at TCR 317, 30 watts, 0.53 Ohms, 330F-380 F on the full ceramic coil with Ti bucket on a 80watt Cuboid mini, AF firmware, just to make certain I don't blow the coil!

In tetrax you'll use around 140-180 TCR
60W-70W with 2 batteries or maybe 50W with one battery, even 55W
temp around 360F maybe if u chase flavors

@GoldenBud: Excellent, thanks. I'll dial those values in when I get my TetraX in a few weeks time, hopefully sooner. Yes, I do prefer lower temps, for example, on my Mighty where I almost never go above 370F. Thanks again.

Do you think you'll be using it as a pseudo desktop with a water piece?

Or do you want to literally carry it around while using it?
Little of both but mainly the former though I'd like to be able to pick it up and hit it reclined. Also not sure if I'll mainly be water or dry through an extended path.

didn't find TETRAx vid, just a Tetra Dual (Same heater..)

*I think he overpacked this bowl :cool::rofl:
There’s a short clip of him hitting the TETRAx on his Instagram (420vapezone). There’s also a user on reddit (nasdri253) who has a short clip of his TETRAx through a bong.

Guys please dont use the TetraX in wattage mod, the FJ software makes things 10 times more awesome,i appreciate is so much,that i think it should be MANDATORY to use it.
It doesnt exactly compares but it is like you are using your volcano hybrid/digital as it is classic.. :D.. + i suggest to dig in the TUBO thread start and see what is the heater made of and how it looks.Coils are long but arent high mass and glowing can happen , and since they are not user replaceable ,and this glowing might cause wear and tear,which creates nano particles which is probably it is not good for health. Save yourself the trouble and get a mod that can run the software ,it protects you from glowing coils + boost the functions 10 fold.
If you have trouble installing the software you can ask for help,but it is not rocket science.,First thing i would looks for is that some cables are just charge cables and not data cables,so if you pc doesnt detect your mod ,you can try a different cable :). Maybe @funkyjunky could offer some mods with preloaded software at his shop so people can pair them with their tetraX.
WismecRX300 and CUboid 200w are both solid choices i have tested, the evics never did it for me tried both the single and fual one,chips overheat way faster.,

So I ended up picking up a cuboid 200 for whenever my tetra arrives, what are your favorite settings to use on the Tubo firmware?

@Abysmal Vapor: Excellent info, thanks!
All my regulated mods are loaded with Artic Fox firmware using NFE Tools. Do you know how well AF would work on the TetraX atty? Do you know what advantage Tubo firmware might have over AF? Thank you.

Hey guys ! I familiar with NFE tools but havent used their software, i have messed with it just to install tubo software and to monitor the temp graphs in real time during vaping. Really fun to watch and get high at the same time.
FJ software is fine tuned for the heater. It is very responsive and detects your draw,shooting high watts only during the draw and not before it.
While you are in wattage mod you can shoot power to the coil when you are not drawing and this will make it glow which is bad.
FJ software turns the tubo into a very precise tools and with little to no fiddling you can get the temps displayed pretty close to reality,which is somethign very few vapes can offer. The coil itself functions as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resistance_thermometer and also at the same time is the heater which gives a really good accuracy/responsiveness,while many other vaping devices just measure the temp at a certain point in the airpath/otside the airpath.
"RTDs, which have higher accuracy and repeatability, are slowly replacing thermocouples in industrial applications below 600 °C.""
The low mass of the tubo/tetra heater ,even further benefits its fast reaction to temp shifts and also reflects very little heat to the exterior .
My favorite way to use the TUBO is in cruise mod. I turn it on wait 30 seconds from cold and then just start vaping. I prefer doing a small preheat because it saves you from needing ultra high wattage to compensate the temp drop. I have reached up to 200w drain (for fractions of a second maybe but still) from cold start on my RX300,instant vapor indeed but not great for battery life ;)
Another thing i feel is happening with the tubo software is that is trying to calculate and tune temp few times a second so you can see in the fram of second going from 0 to XXX watts.
It is quite visible when preheat is done that the watt drain is much more stable,so i guess it also benefits a better performance especially with less powerfull mods.

That's my thing, I have a DNA75C, but if the tetra works best with Joyetech/Wismec flashed mods, maybe I'd be better off just going for a Tubo. The Tetra form factor seems appealing for water rips, but I'm wondering if it would feel clunky when used natively as a two handed device.

I am quite sure FJ software works better than DNA boards for his heater,but maybe he can confirm that too,i dont recall him recommending them sofar.
@invertedisdead
Well most of the weight is in mod and batteries . The heater section is really lightweight,i found it much more comfortable handling it that way,cause heater is around 0.1 kg, also the modpart acting as an anchor while laying on the desk gives me a safer overall feeling :).
Wismec RX with 4 batteries is like 0.3 - 0.4 kg :D,lol...

I’m looking forward to using mine on the go lol. I have an eVic vTwo mini (tiny, tiny thing) waiting and I’ve ordered my TETRA with a nub cooler and a rubber band to hold it all together :rockon:

@Abysmal Vapor that was really informative, thank you! Super super excited to get mine to pair with the Cuboid 200 I ordered as a dual at-home and portable vape.

Weird thought, but does anyone make something like a 19mm rubber insert to put where the stems go? That seems like it would make it a lot safer to carry around as nothing would be able to get inside the hole and possibly break the glass while travelling.

Searching for 18650 batteries for the Cuboid 200watt mod for the TetraX atty:

@KeroZen on the FC Tubo Evic/Dual thread recommends Sony VTC5A/2600/25amp, Sony VTC5D/2800/25amp, & Sony VTC6A/?, but not the VTC5/20amp or VTC6/15amp. (I could not track down any Sony VTC6A batteries on the recommended sites.)

Of these, the Sony VTC5D appears to be the winner (approx $7):
Sony VTC5D: 2800mAh, 25Amps (flat top, unregulated).

So @KeroZen appears to be recommending the higher amp batteries, the 25amp ones, which makes perfect sense.
Does any one have any thoughts or recommendations about these or other batteries for the Tubo?
Also, how many should one purchase: 3 or 6 for the Cuboid 200watt mod?
