Tetra P80

I vastly prefer the tank to the bendy spiked. It adds some restriction which I could probably do without, but it offers vastly superior cooling. I also dig the compact size for when I’m bringing my tp80 someplace.

E: apparently I vastly overuse the word vastly, too.

I'll see what he says. Does anyone like the tank stem? I'm getting the bendy spiked, is it worth getting both?

The tank has much more draw restriction, but is more compact, and may cool better... You just need to use the code add to order so the shipping disappears, you may want to hurry to make sure he doesn't send it without the stems! Should be fine though

I use the p80 exclusively for 1 year. This is my first portable vaporizer and I couldn't have started vaping any better lol.

The p80 was all I wanted. It works like the first day without any drop in performance. And it still looks new and quite compact for the performance it delivers.
It's a steam engine once you learn the right techniques.
It's perfect to be sipped with short stems and the p80 shines with a piece of glass, it hits really hard if wanted lol
It gives me incredible effects thanks to its perfect extraction of grass and resin.
So much better than combustion on every level.
Now I want to get other vaporizers, know other new signatures and experiences. I will always keep my p80 and I warmly congratulate Ralph on his great work and the beautiful Tetra P80 he built me

Yeah, I still reach for my tp80 the most after more than a year of use. It’s not as instant on demand as I imagine some other vapes are: I find it works best with a warm up first, so I almost always use w2c mode. But that is instant enough for me, and it produces very even avb that seems to thoroughly and fully extract. The only vape I have that does a better job is my woodscents, but it’s also maybe half the size of a basket screen in the tp80.

Edit: to be clear, I don’t mean the woodscents is some kind of “better” vape. I just meant in terms of an even extraction.

I rely on my TP80 very much, pretty much exclusively through water, quick one hitters at high temp, so simple and efficient, super consistent and still so beautiful to behold!

dabs at 465F with the tetra is something else.. (0.05gr herb bedding, 30s preheat)

That's not even that high really, but I haven't done convection dabbing in a long long time since I got proper banger with recycler... And I haven't mixed with herbs in even longer!

Has anyone experience using a 18-14mm adapter, with 14mm basked screens for microdosing?

There's no reason to do this, limiting the path that much is a waste of the wider heater, it is much better to just load a very shallow basket screen at the edge of the stem, tiny amount, same amount that would fill a 14 mm basket or less, cover screen and tamp

no experience here because I haven't found any 14mm basket screens ever other than DDave which doesn't ship to my country, but I had seen Troy's video about it and it works (tubo video, as you said 18m/14f adapter inside the tetra/tubo, then 14mm male stem)
That's not even that high really
slow draw, really slow
@Shit Snacks I experience a connection between how good the herb is getting grinded in the BCG and between how high I can vape with the tetra in high temps, always with water tho, Tank is good up to 435F imho...
like, if nothing left in the plate when i grind, and it looks good and fluffy, usually it will support temps like 445F-455F
but if it's not alright, and some left, maybe it has more moist to it, even 435F will give a hotspot or so..

I think this might be more personal preference, as I use a 18 to 14 adapter and like it because it does reduce the air flow (acts kind of like training wheels for those that haven’t mastered vaping). With the P80 wide open, I can struggle to get the air flow right, but I’m not a pro, like many others on FC.

I think you're confused by the question, I too always use an 18 to 14 WPA with my tetra, 18 male goes into the tetra, then 14 for whatever water piece, yes the restriction makes it milk a little quicker than when I do 18 to 18... but the question at hand was what if you put a reducer in the tetra itself, and then use a 14-14 WPA with a 14 mm basket screen... Does that make sense?

It seems like he has 14mm basket and some stem.. If he talks about airflow etc
14mm male WPA is easy to get, but baskets..

@Frosch5 I've never tried that either, I would also just pack less in an 18mm basket screen. Its not going to hurt anything if you want to try it, you just might run at very different temps than a lot of us.

@games-loaves0t I don't think there's really any "pro" vapers . But especially for the TP80 (and any good temp-controlled design) it doesn't really matter. You just adjust the temp. If I inhale e.g. much slower than you, I'll probably think 420 is very well done while you think 460 is very well done.

Haha did you realize it was two different people though? One person asked about the 14 mm baskets, and another person was saying a 14 mm WPA taper connection to fix the airflow (as opposed to 18 to 18)

Yeah there are a lot of variables with the stems you are using, how you draw, the glass you are using, and the temperature settings... On top of how you are loading, there is a way to do everything! With a little more restriction in your WPA and glass pieces, it means faster milking with the TP80, usually a good match since tetra has such wide open air flow naturally

becaus I saw the 14mm basket screens at DDave
if you're a microdoser take it, idk how to lock 14f/18m adapter into the tetra, afaik there's an o-ring that can lock it, otherwise be careful using it upside down
i really want to use it too, will try to talk to ddave for shipping

yes sir :) its on the way now!
Thanks for the answers, I will try microdosing with the 18mm basket screens now. I was just wondering, becaus I saw the 14mm basket screens at DDave.
Dope! Glad he's getting some traction on that batch, I'm still waiting on getting a response on my custom discussion. Patience is a virtue (they say)

Maybe a tiny drop of reclaim to glue the adapter in. Not the cleanest solution, but it should be strong enough, i had that accidentally happen before
