Tempest, Anvil, Dani Fusion 2 vs TM2/Venty/Solo 3/Bowle 2, etc.?

Hi,

What would be the advantage of a Tempest/Anvil/Dani Fusion 2 if I already have something like the Tinymight 2?

I see people gushing over them, which is probably understandable if they come from a DynaVap (I've never tried one), but I think I've also seen people with other very well-regarded vapes saying they're the best.

Thanks

they can be full cleaning without worries. They don’t depend on batteries except if you use IH, but when you are charging the batteries you can vape with torch). When they get hot cause back to back heat ups you dont worry about hot batteries. You can limit your consume a lot since, even if they can be reheated easily, you use to let them cool down. There are relative small torches with a good gas tank which last more than a tm battery.

Of course there are advantages on the tinymight and another electrics too.

Well, I don't know if I'd lump Tempest (ball vape, convection), Anvil (Copper thermal mass, convection/conduction) and Fusion (extra metal thermal mass, convection/conduction) in the same category but they have similarities in that they're designed to retain heat for (potentially) multiple draws, or they can clear a bowl in one or two big hits.

They're for people in general looking for joint/blunt type experience. They take about 30-50 sec to heat. They're very portable and indestructible and they're generally more powerful than Dynavaps (bigger bowl, more mass).

I believe they can hit as hard (roughly in the same league) as the top portables out there but I'm guessing most people get them because they like the ruggedness and the joint/blunt feel.

Edit: I own a Stunner just for reference.

Personally, I like the ritual of microdosing with them, even though I prefer the XL bowls. They don't dry me out as bad either.

I was using the TM2 daily for a while, but the Tempest/Dani Fusion/Convector win the reach test more often now. Not to say I don't use the TM2.

I understand from what has been said here that a DynaVap, Tempest, Anvil, and Dani Fusion 2 all have different characteristics. I’ve not used any of them but would like to pick up something in this general style. I’d like to use something like an induction heater, not a torch, as the heat source. Low maintenance/cleaning is preferable. It doesn’t need to have a big bowl, but some capacity for dosage flexibility would be good. It would be good for it to do a reasonable job of cooling the vapor. And, I’d like it to be effective. Does anyone have suggestions for which ones I might take a closer look at? Thanks for any comments!

I think trying a Dynavap M7 or M+ might be a good place to start. They're relatively inexpensive at around $100. Since you mentioned using an IH (my preference too) you'll be wanting to pick up something like the iSpire Wand which is very popular and known to work well. It also works for non-Dyna solutions should you choose to go in that direction.

Dynavaps are a very proven and refined vape so it's a great entry into the space of this type of vape. They hit pretty hard and can be used in many different ways using a huge ecosystem of add-ons. Low maintenance. Virtually indestructible and you can microdose with them as well. They even handle hash and concentrates.

Pranayama; of a sort.
I like manual vapes for the "ritual" first and foremost, I like the way you fill, heat and use them. I find them to be effective, efficient and more satisfying than any of the battery powered vapes I have tried to date.

In addition (although its something that is always argued about) I find that I need something with a good level of conduction to get the more sedate / relaxing effects from the material. I find that using a pure convection system, the feelings are more stimulating and I end up going through a lot of cannabis trying to get the effects I am looking for; the more sedate and relaxing feelings. This is the experience I had with the TM2, its a powerful device, but it lives on the shelf because I can't really get the effect from it that I want.

As much as I have moved off Dinovaps and replaced them with something else, I agree with Tigole that the Dynavap M7 is probably a good place to start; I wish the M7 was my first Dynavap :)

Yeah they are pretty different and people are different so it all varies as usual, every little aspect is different, a lot of these aren't even so similar as was said above, You know when you change one variable in the design of a vape it can alter the experience as well, different use cases different signatures etc.

At least speaking for the Anvil: It has a completely different vibe compared to the TM. The Anvil is definitely more conduction-oriented, and you don't have to work for the hits at all, unlike with the Tinymight, which requires technique. With the Anvil, you just heat it and rip it however you want.

There's a time and place for them all; variety is the spice of life!

That being said, I probably use the Anvil the most out of any flower vape!

I’m sorry to be a little delayed in responding. Thanks to all of you for writing with your thoughts and suggestions! It is all very helpful, giving me just the right kind of information to go on as I worked to figure out which direction to take. I’m excited to report that I have ordered an M 7 and an Ispire Wand, and they should be here soon. I’m really looking forward to using these things. You’ve all been great and have helped to expedite the process…! Hahah! (Btw, when I looked into them, the others on this vape list look quite intriguing as well….)

I got an Anvil maybe 6 months after I got my TM2 and I virtually always reach for the Anvil. The last time I used the TM2 was a few months ago out of guilt, it was good, but the Anvil hits harder. It is also lower maintenance, doesn't require batteries and less fragile.

If someone has the Tempest and the Solo 3... how do their vapor profiles differ? The Solo 3 should have more conduction I assume?

You described them well, I own them all, even the Stunner which for me is a rough version of the Tempest which I don't have and I'm waiting for it to come out on sale, but I think it's the same system

First was a Pink stem with silver mouthpiece due to ordering towards going out of stock ,got theBlue with blue mouthpiece and unused-The Stunner is a can’t wear it out kinda device . Do not have A Tempest . Have DynaVaps A Thermal Accumulator,Dani with stainless stem And now an Anvil on the Way after reading all the positives in comparison with other Thermal Extraction Devices. Cheers

You ever use the Fusion? I got the Dani Fusion and its just about the only vape I use now. I got the TM1.5 and the flower pot among many other vapes. The reason why I like the Fusion the best is because it is about the smoothest vape to use, and i still get better hits than them all, since it be so smooth on the throat. I do think the dynavap has a better tasting to it but wish they would have made a bigger chamber much sooner instead of going even smaller. The Anvil seems like the only other real competitor to the Fusion, though I'm open to suggestions.

I haven't tried the Fusion but the successor to the Anvil, the Tornado, has incredibly smooth and powerful hits and also a large bowl. It's the best TED I own right now and you can get a full OHE in around 20sec only using the Wand.

I also have the new CeramoXL on order from Camouflet. Heard really good things about the ConvectorXL from them and now the new CeramoXL made of zirconia looks great.

If you run out of batteries and have a jet lighter handy. Or if you prefer a conduction extraction compared to convection on the TM or TM2. Plus in someways more portable but then you obviously need a het lighter or a battery powered IH which kind of throws out the advantages of it being battery free but also allows a more even and controllable heat up.

Vestratto have a new vape out now called the Tornado. It's well good. It's quickly become my favourite vape. It definitely hits different to any other vape i currently have and seems to get me there on a lot less. It's unique feature is it's like a sublimator vaporizer and gasifies the vapour. I can't test the gasification but I do know it sure hits well.

I've heard that the stunner is one of the best for flavour, what's your verdict on it as you sure know a fair bit about the subject.

There are a lot of advantages, and differences generally but if I were to try and strip it back to the most notable from a utlitarian perspective it would be a marked difference in your perceived high and the medicinal effects you receive from your herb (depending on which vaporizer you select to complement the TM2 of course!).

Your Tinymight 2 extracts through convection and thus delivers a pure convection high.. It's personal taste but if you are looking for a distinct point of difference when acquiring a second vaporizer I would strongly recommend you go with a vaporizer that uses additional conduction along with convection to extract the desirables from your herb. So, just my opinion here, not the Tempest as a second vape initially as its more convection leaning than the other options you listed.. you are likely to have less points of difference in effects from your herb than you would with a different choice. As other posters have rather eloquently explained, when conduction is a larger part of or the entirety of the means of extracting the cannabinoids from your material many, many users report feeling different effects. Vapingyogi explained this very well IMHO. If you have a medical condition such as chronic pain, insomnia, etc. you may find that a vape which utilises conduction will relieve a larger amount of pain and help you off to sleep with less herbal material than a pure convection vape like the TM2.
Vaping for 20+ years, Vapingyogis reported experience of effects (and ritual!) has also been 100% my experience.

TLDR I get more pain relief, sleep assistance and anxiety reduction from a smaller amount of material when conduction is in the extraction mix. I get a more stony, warm blanket effects profile.

BUT I might want a more crispy, clean, alert and energetic effect in the morning in the initial stages of a long hike for example. This would be a great time to use a convection forward vape like your TM2 to achieve this. Later in the night I might be sore from walking all day, worried about work with critters and campmates keeping me awake.. what do you know its conduction forward vape time ;-)

So that in a nutshell is the advantage of having more than one device, just make sure your second device has notable points of difference from the first.

As some other posters have already stated, it you can stretch your budget I would highly, highly highly ;-) recommend the Tornado over any of the initial options in your first post. It incorporates more conduction heating to extract your desirables. It has a very different signature to the TM2, its very efficient with any amount of herb you throw at it and the vapor is very smooth at higher temperatures. No 40 second pranayama convection inhales to completely extract a bowl with the Tornado, its straight into thick vapor.. one can clear a bowl almost as easily as with a ballvape and a glass rig. I've used and owned a lot of vapes. I sold some vapes when I got the Nado and friends have also done the same. It fulflls a medical users needs really nicely IMHO. A convection leaning vape (your TM2 as an example) and the nado really nicely covers most users needs. I use CXL (convection-centric) and Tornado (conduction-centric) heads on a stem and cooling system I cobbled together 95% of the time. 360 style ball vape for serious pain relief sleepy time outside of that.

In the shortish term, try and get your hands on a tornado. I don't think you'll be disappointed and for the time being if you didn't like it I think you could sell it for what you paid for it without taking a loss. A few other medical patients have tried hard to buy mine from me after trying it.. but they can pry it from my cold, dead hands. For the moment at least its my one ring to rule them all.. my PRECIOUS :rofl:LMAO I hope you find your happy vaping place friend 🤞🌈

Yep. Sure does. Already recommended it.

I really like the convection flavor from the Stunner but I can't really compare it to the Tempest/Anvil/Fusion because I don't own them. I imagine the vape signature would be similar to the Tempest as they're both heavily convection biased and use the same materials whereas the Anvil and Fusion are more hybrid convection/conduction and use different materials.

Since getting the Tornado I don't think any other TED compares right now. I'll wait to see if the CeramoXL from Camouflet I have on order can compete.

It would be an interesting comparison, but it seems that there are few similarities between the two. I don't have a Tornado but everything I've read about it extolls its unique micro vapor droplet tech. The Camouflet XL is a wide open convection device, very quick to heat and cool.

Yeah, the usage on the two is quite different and I will be using both with the Wand. The Tornado can do one heat extractions (OHE) but can also be used in a way to get multiple (more flavorful) hits with some reheating.

The CXL or CeramoXL seems to also be able to do OHE but its forte is mainly a quick heat-up/cool down process that lends itself to multiple short re-heats (as you mention) due to the nature of the standard titanium cap. The new Super Capacitor cap has more thermal mass and is stainless so they have all the bases covered too if you favor OHE.

What impresses me the most about these two is their efficiency. You can heat both of them and be vaping in around 20sec with the Wand while most other TEDs require roughly double that time. Should be an interesting matchup!
