Tafée Bowle

I'm loving my Bowle too! I found two ways to hit it now that I like. If I'm in a hurry, I'll start at 4 for the first hit. Normally I find 4 a bit roasty but for the first hit, it's really nice to warm up the bowl from cold and it tastes great. Then I'll finish the bowl at 3 with long draws and maybe a last hit at 4.

If I want a nice sipping session. I'll start at 1 and work my way up to 2 for most of the session. You can fully extract a bowl on level 2 preserving the great taste the whole time. It's nice for tasting new strains.

Yeah this is good advice. I should've thanked you for it before as I've been careful to clear my hits.

I started doing this, too (when I remember!), after reading your post. Never dawned on me before (as someone who has only seen water pieces used in videos!) — but makes sense.

One thing I do find a bit fiddly is the ceramic pots.

I actually find the pots’ design brilliant. The rim makes handling VERY easy and it stays relatively cool (compared to the main body).

I’ve never used the Potter/Potter+ though. I use way too little per load!

Wish list:
  • A good case and/or sleeve is on my list next. I wonder how compact one could be and what good ideas people will come up with.

I’ve been looking at stowage options, too. Because I have the cup stored away, I’m looking at stowing the puck and stems separated, but next to each other (flat) — which should allow for many more options — even smaller hard sided (pelican style) cases would work.

Well just had a frightening experience with my TB2. I took the unit off the charging cable, turned it on to clear out a bowl, and instead of the blue light around the base I saw an orange one, and the unit refused to stop heating. It got very hot, and eventually turned itself off, but was very concerning. Waiting for it to cool and reaching out for a warranty.

If it was getting too hot and you took notice, why didn't you try turning it off & then turning it back on after a while? If something goes into thermal runaway never let it go.

Many times devices will reset themselves upon power up. Is orange light mentioned in the manual? It may have gone into some funky mode inadvertently. What happens when you go to turn it on now?

There may be some type of reset that can be initiated by the user if you knew what that was. I had a similar problem with my PAX and it would never got to Ready. There is a hidden reset action that you can take with PAX Plus and that resolved the problem for me.

The unit would not turn off, of course I attempted to turn it off, I could have made that clearer though. None of the buttons were responsive. The unit cannot be currently turned on, I think my unit is fully dead now.

I gave tafee another go after the issues with the first bowle and then with the replacement (which I ended up returning) and this latest one is not working at all

This is the 3rd series 2 I have that has issues

Shows 5 lights when plugged in but completely unresponsive otherwise. I have tried the reset process with nothing. And have never used anything other than the cable supplied. Never been dropped and always handled gently

Going through warranty with vapefiend again so they can repair or replace…
Royal Mail collected on the 31st but still hasn’t show hasn’t shown as collected.
Was a new guy that said he’d never collected before and rang his manager for help so I’m concerned on that end aswell, luckily I made him fill out a collection card which he signed and left his details but it should have showed something at least

All in all a poor show! none of the tafee bowle series 2s have lasted longer than 10 weeks

I also have my Bowle serviced twice by them. I would not try to use the unit and contact them. Top notch customer service in my opinion. They will pay to ship both ways and quick turn around. Orange light?

I forgot to mention I purchased directly from Tafee.

Sad story, indeed.
I think in addition to your warranty procedure with Vapfiend, you should have concurrent conversation with "support" at Tafee.
Belt and suspenders approach.
Yea I think I will do this cover both bases.

I was hesitant to contact tafee as they have just ignored my last few emails when my original purchases was faulty. They offered my discount from the Canada site when I told them that was pointless as I wouldn’t buy for their site as I’m in the uk they refused to respond and ignored my further emails when I enquired further about a return to them…

I was really hesitant to repurchase the bowle from the encounter with tafee. After having been sent a faulty first unit. Then sent a used and damaged replacement I was refunded by vapefiend.

Saw the issues seemed to be resolved but clearly not

Just a bad experience all round

I was hoping for a straight swap from vapefiend but I can see them trying to have this sent off

Really sorry to hear about your experience.

You mention that the buttons are unresponsive but does it respond to the hard reset procedure?
  • unplug from charger
  • click both buttons simultaneously 5 times in rapid succession
  • plug back into charger

No response, tried leaving it charging for a while and then attempted again and no go.

That sucks. Definitely sounds like you'll need support from Tafee. Hope it all works out 🤞

Wow. Sucks to see this too. I had heard nothing but good things about the series 2 until this. Hope one of Tafee or Vapefiend takes care of you.

Thank you! I’m hoping vapefiend will get this sorted. They have been decent with thing like this in the past.

Just a bit frustrating, when it works, it is a nice vape but I baby it enough as it is and just gonna have the worry it’s gonna go again…

Sorry i think i slightly misunderstood your original post. Does this unit have removable batteries? Are they potentially fried?

Does sound bad. Good luck with Tafée.
