Tafée Bowle

Anyone else wish they had a cover of some sort for the Tafee stem bottom so you can travel/put away with it in 2 pieces with full pot?

I have no idea how it would be fashioned, without adding too much bulk. Maybe something that clips on top of the base?

Anyone have any hacks ( @ChooChooCharlie ) or solutions ( @Delta3DStudios ) or ideas?

(If this has already been discussed and I forgot, please scold me for not doing my due diligence search, but I’m just plain lazy tonight 🥱)
I’ve always wanted them to looking in a collapsible stem where the part where you put the pot in fold in

Well I said I was done but VAS got the best of me! A bowle (II) is now in my possession. TLDR: NO regrets whatsoever!

This didn’t appeal to me for some reason a few months back but now I’m kicking myself for not considering it. IMO this is a MUCH more refined experience than any DHV I’ve ever used. And the best vapor experience BY FAR. I can’t underestimate how unbelievably cool, satisfying, and convenient the vapor is!

Have just a few questions as I’m already considering the upgraded metal potter:

1. Does the metal potter stay together fairly well when closed? My biggest gripe by far with the potter + is that it’s very easy to accident come open. I’ve already fumbled it a few times for this reason. I’m not looking for it to survive a drop and stay closed or anything, just to be more resistant to opening.
2. Does any make or has found a convenient pouch/carrying case/etc to hold the potter (and maybe a small tool like a brush or pick)? I would love to have an option to keep it somewhat contained and protected. If not I’ll search for something on Etsy/amazon. Does or would @Duba make anything like this?!

Really, really enjoying the TB2. My only minor gripe is that the pots don’t interface well with the reload (from MAD heaters). I love my reload so much, but deblowing and filling the pots is just too inconvenient with it sadly :( as this will be getting the bulk of my use, I’m happy to use the potter & and a dedicated debowler but very sad to see my lovely reload take a back seat.

As far as VAS - good news is that this has inspired me to sell off 2 other vapes and a bunch of accessories so in the end it’s a win against VAS :) will still be keeping a few cherished manual vapes for variety and fun (Dynavap, vapman, tempest) but I can tell already this will easily be my daily driver

Was thinking about this idea a bit more today. The potter fits in the cup with a little room to spare. Maybe a softly molded cylinder with something like microfiber on the outside (or anything soft enough to not scratch the acrylic) that holds the potter at the bottom, with a little spare room for small pick and brush on top and then a little drawstring or button closure on the top. Then you’ve got everything you need ready to go right in the cup (or not if in the cup if that’s your thing). Little cord or something on top to easily pull it out.

Edit: might be too much but possibly a short little canister around the size of the potter for debowling into? It would stack on top of the potter.

The Potter has fairly strong magnets, never managed to open it by accident so far.

Can’t help with the pouch as Bowle is my home device where I store all my stuff in lockable Stashlogix hard case.

On the other hand I am using Reload to debowl pots – first I use a wooden poker to get the ABV out and then brush the remaining dust. In fact, I use this combo for all my vapes.

thanks, how many charge cycles is it rated for?
I believe there is no official statement from Tafeé but it shouldn’t be different from standard Li-pol batteries which are usually rated for 300-500 cycles before capacity drop, although it depends on how you treat it.

My OG Bowle is still usable without any issues but there probably is a small drop after more than two years of daily usage.

Stubby stem: does it make sense to buy it if you already have the short stem that is sent with the TB? Is a difference really noticeable, maybe a little more flavor, etc., or is it just a matter of convenience given the shorter stem length?

Minimal difference in terms of flavor and cooling, IMO. I favored the stubby mostly due to aesthetics.

Stubby makes it more portable, it’s worth it. Plus free with code: Troyandjerry

Do you think they may be able to put glass in the inner stems? Or even make a glass stem?

So I went to turn on my Bowle today and nothing happened. I charged it all the way up and it still won't turn on. I have had it back since April when I sent it in for a service. It's been in use every day since and working great. Not sure if I remember how to reboot, but it has to be on to do that? Not sure if I can live without this vape 😥

do the lights light up when you plug it in the charger?

Yes, the lights light up when on the charger. Fully charged.
I think what happened to me is now happened to you. From what I understood from Tafee is that a safety lock has been done to prevent and further damage to the unit. Did you have your Tafee plugged in overnight? Or for a long period of time?

Just received a new v2. Is there meant to be a charger in the cardboard tube somewhere? There's a grey cable at the bottom but no charger there, or anywhere.

No, to both questions. I just busted out my Tinymight 2.
I’d just email Tafee. I was in the same boat.. I’ve been spoiled with this 1 sec heat up.. my TM2 barely scratch that itch. Thankfully I had the OG Tafee.

Charging block is not included and it is recommended

I got a reply from Vapefiend saying that it sounds like Tafee may have included an older manual or quickstart guide; as the five blue LEDs on the Series 2 will not go out when charge is completed and they also no longer include a US mains adapter as the Series 2 is USB-C not micro USB. It is advisable to use a mains adapter of 2A output or more.

So looks like I'm good to go..

I have both the Original Tafee Bowle, and the new Series II.
I find many small differences, but nothing stands out more than the new extended battery life.

Troy (Troy and Jerry Podcast), reports that he can finish 25 pots (or 72 hits) before a recharge is needed. Others have reported similar results.

I can only get a maximum of (8) pots (or 49 hits) completed before a recharge is a must.

Actually, according to Tafee, you should recharge when you are down to LED 2, for maximum battery health.
However, I really wanted to see if I could complete at a minimum (8) pots, which is the total holding capacity of the Series II Potter.
In order to complete (8) pots, I needed to go all the way down to one LED remaining on battery life.

I’m wondering how many hits everyone with a Series II Bowle can get per charge.

The only thing I can think of for the vast difference in number of pots/hits… is the power level, and “duration” of hit.
Below are the results of two tests I ran; keeping all variables as measured and consistent as possible.

Number of Hits & Pots before recharge TESTs

My goal was to get a full 8 pots/sessions per charge.

Everyone has different vape preferences regarding temperature and what a “spent pot” would be,
Some prefer a light roast before dispensing the pot, and others prefer a much darker roast, or fuller extraction.
Therefore, I thought it best to indicate the amount of “hits” I can get per charge, as well as the number of completed pots, along with power level and duration of hit.
  • All pots filled with .1gm of herb
  • All hits are on Power Level/LED “3”
  • All hits are ten seconds in duration (green lights) followed by continued inhalation to clear stem.
Tracked (2) Full Tests, which were based on a full charge, until 8 pots were completed.
The following are the number of ten second “hits” provided at each Battery Indicator Level.

Battery Level 5
20 hits (16)

Battery Level 4 (quickly drops through level 4, no idea why. Consistently happens)
2 hits (4)

Battery Level 3
12 hits (11)

Battery Level 2
10 hits (10)

Battery Level 1
5 hits (6)

Plugged into charger at this point as I don’t want to fully drain the battery.

RESULTS:
  • Total Pots: 8 pots
  • Test One - Total 10 second Hits: 49
  • Test Two – Total 10 second Hits: 47

Anybody willing to run a similar test and report your results?

Sweet Baby Jesus! A wave of VAS overtook me after stalking the Bowle for a while now and I just pulled the trigger. 😱🤯🤑😵

Damn you VAS! Is no one safe from your clutches?

I already feel I've brushed up against portable vaporizer greatness having bought the Solo3 and Angus Enhanced. They're both incredible modern vapes but this guy... this guy.... I just don't know. He looks too good to be true.

For the price I'm fully hoping it will leap to the top of my portables. 🤞

I felt the same but have not been disappointed. The only thing I wish I did was order the upgraded bowle + potter package from the jump :)

That sounds comforting.... 🤔except I didn't order the upgraded package either 😒

If the Bowle is as good as I'm seeing in videos, the potter will be a happy afterthought for me. I have good grinders and the bowls seem easy to scoop and load.

Anyone have ideas for a nice case/potter carrier?
