Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

Money sent vape inbound woooooo

That torch and a similar style propane both avaliable locally from my nations home depo (Bunnings for you Aussies) so my worry about having to fuck ass around with a whole new torch scene shouldn't be such a worry. I need to buy some more micros in bulk for my vapcap but the supreme and torch and bong will not leave the room so shouldn't need too many back ups.

So I went ahead & just bought a Vapocane. I know it's just a simple adapter, but I've been wanting an all glass vape like the Vaponic (mainly all glass) or the Vapolution 2 (they're having a super sale on the Vapo 3, & they're no prices listed for the Vapo 2; are they discontinuing it ?), so this should serve me well until I grab one of those. And from reading @Stu & @lazylathe 's experiences, it seems pretty much plug & play. No jacking around w/ screen distances. Plus, I just wanna pimp out my Sup. @nosmoking posted this link for anyone else interested in the same concept but a lot cheaper.
If your working with 18mm or have a 14mmFemale to 18mmMale adapter then one of these is what I prefer to use as it has a screen in it already and it allows for larger loads. I have about a half dozen or so of these and they rock the convection aspect of the Supreme more than any other adapters I have tried.

A few questions for you Supreme heads if I could. Loving the pics of people heating up their block. Where do you guys like to heat your block ? I think (?) I remember reading @lazylathe saying he likes to heat the front b/c it retains heat better.

I'm only using 1 torch, so would it be beneficial to heat the other side of the block half way through to provide a better heat sink, than just heating the one side ?

@Stu, if I could pick your brain for a quick sec. I know you use(d) the Bernzo torch. Is it necessary to use premium butane (ala, the Bricks) or should I be fine using the Bernzo fuel. I've been using the torch for other things, and so far, it's worked fine w/ no sputtering.

Any & all help/suggestions are welcomed & appreciated. Almost forgot, checked tracking again. It should be here tomorrow or Friday. Yes sir!

Probably not practical, but I want to see someone wrap a gigantic electric heating coil around the supreme for fast torchless desktop operation.

If you search this thread there are some crazy pics of some interesting non-torch electric ideas. Rumour is that the inventor himself might have something on the go for in the future! I do believe that it will require a PID though, but that's just a guess of course! :brow:

Oh its no rumor ;)
Hoping for the 2018, rest assured he's taking his time on this one ...getting it right like the v3!
Didn't think about the pid. ..

Ed has provided me with a picture of a projected Supreme model… A 120V vape.
He says that he can make it if he believes people will want it.
Due to extremely high responsibilities in his life, he has not had time to come to the website to learn if Vaporists would feel that it's a good idea.
Description:
It can safely stay connected to the wall indefinitely (at the factory set vaporization temp 315F) and the user can pull it off and take 4-5 draws to finish a personal bowl.
It takes 3 mins to heat up. The heat retention will be even greater than the SV3.
Same heating element, bowl design and attachments as SV3. He has told me to feel free to post the picture below on FC.

Ed himself is having problems finding time to participate in the FC Supreme thread, and he worries about not being able to respond adequately due to time restraints.
I have told him as a personal friend that I would do my best to keep the users informed about these developments, and keep him up to date on important questions that may arise….. and also provide him with both positive and negative feedback.
Ed hopes that user feedback will be of a positive nature.

PLEASE note.

This is at the moment a concept.
I am posting the concept and image as a favor to Ed, so he can determine if this
would be desirable IN THE FUTURE.
At this time the Supreme 3 is His newest unit, and as you have read, it is "The Bomb"
The Supreme 3 is the only available Supreme, so I am not suggesting that anyone hold off to wait for the Electrical Supreme.
The image above and information I presented are in developmental stages.

lazylathe

Almost there...
@Morty

The vapocane is a neat vape in itself and i would recommend experimenting with it as well!
It is plug and play, drop in a bowl, drop in herb and apply heated S3 and inhale...

As far as heating the block i just used one torch pointed at the middle side of the block.
I moved the torch around but in the end just aimed it at the middle and left it there.

As has been mentioned already, the Bernzo fuel should do just fine.

Like lazylathe, I just heat the center of one side.

I usually only heat one at a time though. :p

That above is old. Much has changed since! ;) But I can't say more than that unfortunately.
While the post is old, that does not mean things are not moving in that direction.
I converse with Ed regularly, and he is still working on this project.
The only thing impeding progress at this time, is working and supporting his family as he finishes developing his projected device.
In my opinion, taking his time, and doing it right is better than devising an Indiegogo project, and begging for our money with promises of "percs".
Speaking of which out of 7 Indiegogo projects that I have kept track of, only one has born fruit of the promised product!
I think we just need to be patient a little longer!

Thanks @lazylathe, @Stu, & @vapirtoo! Really appreciate it. And while I'm giving out the thanks', thanks to all the SV3 vets (inc. @shaolinmilk). It was your posts, videos & enthusiasm that really drew me into this thread & to this vape (along w/ seeing your vape signatures - past & present). You guys really know your shit & are a wonderful bunch to learn from. I'm not really a video guy, but once I receive it, I'll try & post a video.

(How cool is it that V3 version of the Sup thread was started by @Vitolo.

The short answer. Very very very very very very cool.)

Yes, there are some DIY pics, as a very keen member went on a mission back in the day with some heaters and such, but I don't think it was a success in the end.

From what I know and have seen, it's going to be alot simpler than we think! Simple is good!

When I did the DIY with the 4x50W ceramic heaters it took about 2 minutes to heat up. Problem was the unsafe standing as the vaporizer was not well balanced anymore and that it could overshoot in temperture too fast. At the end I went back to the propane torch.
To progress with the DIY you could pair the heater with a simple PID like the REX-100. Heat up time would be then around 4 minutes I guess.
$10 for the heaters and $12 for the PID plus some electrical connection work if someone wants to try that...

BEST. VAPE. EVER. Nuff said!

And i'm the biggest vapour and vaporizer snob out there.

Bro, what a dead-on and fine custom title under your avatar this would be! ;)

Electrification of the Supreme?

I don't think that a temp controlled heating is necessary. Just a heating element with an ON/Off switch.
An internal heat cartridge might work just a induction coil wrapped around the heating block like a sleeve would be a lot faster. I think so fast you'ld need no control unit just a view on the increasing temp and switching off by time. Keep it simple!

BTW what's about a simple insulation cover for the heating block to hold working temp longer stable?

I have been meaning to write a bit about my experience with this vape, just haven't gotten around to it until now. I'm gonna break it into categories, much easier to write.

First a little background on my personal vaping experience before this. I started with a mflb about 1.5 years ago. Last September I upgraded to a boundless cfx. At this point I would rarely smoke anymore as I became accustomed to the taste and smell. About 6 months ago my friends and I purchased a cloud Evo. I used that most days at night and really couldn't be happier with it. The thing is once I got my supreme in a few weeks ago I haven't even given the Evo a second thought. It's just that good. Now let's talk about the vape itself

Design
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that's what they say right? Behold the Supreme V3 in action and you will see the beauty of this ~5 inch monster. If I was just shown a picture I don't think I'd ever guess what it even is. It's just that obscure looking. My first reaction when I opened my mailbox was disbelief on how it fit inside a small USPS box (with the j-hook!). It was much smaller than my expectation of it, which is a bonus to me. After a using it I could not get over how beautifully simple this device is (and just how). There are essentially four parts to it. The bowl, the heating block/tube, the temp gauge, and the handle. Less parts means less of a chance for things to break. As much as I like glass, the aluminum is stronger and much safer for me as I don't always trust myself with glass. The only changes I made to the actual design was adding a grip cushion and a heating block cover. Both of which any user could make. I will post pics when I get back home. My brother also took the liberty of adding some electrical tape under the wires to prevent any chaffing.

Using the S3
The process of using the supreme can definitely be intimidating the first few times you use it. It was a process of having to get my torch ready, fill the bowls and make sure I wasn't touching anything I was going to burn myself on (took me a burn or two to figure it all out...). After about a half a week of use it's become quicker and easier than my Evo. Although, not in the sense of being able to take a hit whenever like the Evo is able to provide with it's electrical heating. This doesn't really matter when it comes to the supreme though. During a session I'll typically only use one bowl (I don't pack it, but I do grind). I use my propane torch to heat it up to usually around ~185-195 with the bowl inserted and take a large hit. Collect my thoughts that seem to get lost as I exhale and heat it up again. This time I heat it to 205ish and take a large final hit until the vapors thinned out considerable. At this point the herb is just about black and I can feel confident that I got everything out of it. I let the device cool down for around 30 seconds (keeping time isn't my strong suit after using the S3)and throw my cover on. It's then all set to put away.

Effects
Nothing I've used had really compared to this thing. The vapor comes through the glass piece in thick white clouds, but the actual hit is extremely smooth. Sometimes I find my chest gets feels a bit hot, but a little water fixes that. This thing really blasts you off with effects that are felt immediately. The Evo rarely had those effects with me, yet the S3 consistently does with the smallest amount of herb. In terms of taste it is definitely more pronounced than my other vapes. I won't go into taste much more just because of my lack of experience with it and I tend not to think about it too much when using it.

All in all I think this is an amazing device. If you have heard about it chances are you know about this thread which is a great wealth of information. It may not be the prettiest vape on the market, but it's performance is one of a kind. If you're on the fence just jump to the S3 side already. For the price it can't be beat. For torches I use Coleman camping propane tanks with my map5 torch on it. I may purchase a butane for when I want to reheat it after taking a hit, but it's definitely not necessary. I will add pictures and maybe a bit more tomorrow.

Thanks Ed for a great device and thank all you guys for making such a great thread.

It has arrived! Sucks I have to work tonight. At least it gives me a reason to bust ass & get out early.

First impressions having not used it yet. It's small. I mean, you know it's small from the pictures & videos, but dang, it's small (not a bad thing IMO). And pulling out the alu stem I can see how it could cause a little grinding. The 9mm Vapo 2 stems fit like they were made for it.

1st hit tonight I'm thinking, 160C & inserting the stem half way through heat up. It's really here.

Got 4 g's of some choice testing material ready to roll once she arrives.

Well, those 4 g's are long gone. But it's ok, cause...I got 14 more! Two different strains even (I know, I know, but I live in prohibition land), Mob Boss & Tropical Punch. The latter is fuckin' trichome heavy, while the former smells out of this world. It should be fun to combine them. Woo-hoo!!! :leaf:
