Discontinued Sublimator XLR

Strange vid. No comment to the new device. Just some words to describe changes.
But no one said the 3.0 is better.

The only informations are:
- modified design of the now smaller handle with a better stand on the Atomizer (no changes)
- construction of the heater seems to be the same with lightly modified design and
- new connection (Mini XLR)
- Adapter for connecting the older monkey controller available.
- New (analog) Monkey Controller with 1,2,3 h timer and a vibrating 5' alarm before shut down.

I think this is a little bit disappointing.... i hoped for a significantly smaller sublimator with a compact digital Controller with temp reading and programmable timer, making it a little bit family and living room friendly (right now, i think the sub 2 is more of a workshop / Mancave Vape).
The new Controller could also be able to control an additional e-nail Coil, that would be great and a bit what Hex Nail try to do but commercially probably not a smart move.

We will see how this compares to the new Herborizer TI and the Errlectric Herb-Nail, these three have quite some similarities.

Anyway, I'll only buy the new Apollo ti + Atomizer ti and drive them with the Hex-Nail and a nice tool.
What does the actual MC + PS cost? 210$? Probably the new one will be more expansive. And the Hex Nail? 360$. Therefore you have a beautiful and hopefully well working dic and it can fire a regular nail too. So what?

@Hogni that would be without a doubt kind of a dream setup and at the very bleeding Edge of high class Paraphernalia

I d love to see some Pics and reviews, if this configuration works flawless even the Price would be ok... GO FOR IT ;-)

Just waiting for my Liger & Co. Waiting for reviews of the HexNail. Hope it will stay very interesting. First I'll give it a chance in combi with my Liger and hope my friend who permanentely brings me along american stuff will be in the US later this year again for courier servicing regarding the Sublimator parts.

Anyone knows a good glassblower in Germany who is working for a reasonable price?

Would like to let build a customized ss base for the Sub in combination with a piece of glass similar to the cold wall but smaller and not with a firmly attached mp but with a joint for attachable single mps or whips and a kind of beer glass handle .
Cold wall is much to high IMO. Dont like to stand up and crane my neck for vaping. What a uncomfortable bs...at least I'm to old for such rituals.
Cooling the glass piece with a homebrew..or a Gin Tonic... thats quality of living IMO.

The cold wall glass is basically a Dewar Condensor. You can buy them through lab glass companies in a lot of sizes. The 45/50 joint the Sublimator uses is nice, but it's not as common in lab glass and the pieces tend to be enormous/expensive.

@Hogni just a quick shot: Ehle does Custom work but is rather costly. Try Frank "Steak" Fleischer, he is on instagram, works halftime as scientific glasblower and half time rigs / art - could be perfect for your Project.

I bought some really nice Pendants from him for a very reasonable Price. In a hurry right now, i can send you contact information in the Evening if you wish.

@brucee10 Thank you very much, Sir!

Yeah, a 45/50 joint should it be.

Most dewars I have seen have to less content for a nice beer ;-)

But I think (hope?) it should be possible to get a nice one for 100-150.

@Doktor Dub, Dank dir! Very interested in contact datas!

I just called Sublimator and the 3.0 stuff is all in stock now, although the website is a little confusing. I learned the following information:
- the connectors are totally changed, and should be a lot better and more secure, 1 piece design. I had an old connector where the internal wiring got all messed up within 8 or 9 months, and while PV will fix the old one for me for cost of shipping, this sounds like a nice upgrade.
- the heads have changed, but the old heads will be compatible with the new connections.
- the atomizers have stayed the same.
- there are new stands coming, but I don't think they have the new stands finished yet.
- the monkey controller has changed, and you need the new monkey for the new connector
- the power supply is the same
- no way to upgrade the old connector or controller to the new, from what I heard but the old heads should work (I only asked about the nail though, so idk about the apollo), and the atomizers and power supply remain compatible.

So if you're like me, and have an existing sublimator 2.0, you'll need are the new nail heating device (https://sublimator.ca/product/titanium-nail-heating-device/) (note that the picture is not updated here, but they should have it for order now), and the new monkey controller (https://sublimator.ca/product/titanium-nail-heating-device/).

If anyone knows yet if the hex nail controller will work with the xlr 3.0, let me know, since I'm thinking of skipping the new monkey controller and just getting the hex, if that will work.

After all I've understand in the MM-vid Enrico talked about an adapter they intend to offer to make the Sub 2.0 heaters compatible to the new MC!?

Up to now no reaction from HexNail to my Sub 3.0 announcement in the HN-Thread. But would be pretty silly making the HN compatible to drive the 2.0 and not the - newer - 3.0.

Guess there has somebody to give his 3.0 as a loan to HN for further experiments?

Go ahead volunteers!

EDIT: Does anyone know about a regular and repeated discount on BF, 420 etc at sublimator.ca?

And how much is the discount?

The cold wall is to tall with that long neck. What I do is put a silicone tube down that long neck.
Now you can sit down and enjoy.

I would do so too! What shall you do otherwise?

Nothing against you in no way but I generally think its a little bit strange to get a really nice piece of glass which is to tall and lower it for comfortable using with a improvised solution. But that's the only way to work with in a comfortable manner.
The whole cold wall thing is a nice thought but impractically - and pretty expansive.

So why not adopting a good thought and developing a better, more personalized and comfortable versatile thing out of it for the same or even lower price?

We'll see it. It isnt under top 5 of my VAS (I've just entered the VapCap-Lego-train, there is a LOT to do ;)) but hope still to realize it sometime in 2017.

I know it`s not the best thing. To have to do with the price of it. The long neck is not user friendly.
Yes it`s great if standing. But if you have bought a cold wall this works great.
His is how I use the cold wall. I guess you could cut the neck off. But again why should you have to.
The end of the cold wall should have the same end as there Sublimator Kryogenic Condenser

Why shoud I customize an existing device if I can let me built a similar one to my own specifications? May be much cheaper.

I only like the idea of construction behind not the device itself.
I'll go to a glass blower, talk to him I need a customized stable deware condenser, nearly 20 cm high, the inner bowl around 500 ml, with a 45/50 male joint to the bottom and at the upper side 2 x 18 mm female joints fixed with strong connections in opposite position.

So I can relaxed use it with a shorter mouthpiece and/or a whip, alone or as a session device for two people at the same time. Aside of this I have two handles for use it as a glass.

It would be a pity to have a fine ice-cooled Gin Tonic inside and wouldnt be able to drink it comfortably after - or during - vaping ;)

I can't believe how dead this thread is! The Sublimator is the most underrated vape out there?

I couldn't find the thread for the Sublimator ELIMINATOR.... is that to be discussed here?

Anymore questions?

Use 'search' and you'll be smarter

And here a special one - this device seems not to be very popular. I can understand. Expensive piece of steel or ti, dangerous in handling, unwieldy and bulky...

May be part of a survival kit? Black out?

Yeah, I really wanted an Eliminator top to go with my existing Sub, but no one would sell just that part. I think my black out survival kit will have a Supreme V3 in it instead. I like the accuracy of the thermometer.

I may be able to send in my sub 3.0 heating device (enail or apollo if i get one) when I receive my pre ordered hex nail + liger or dnail.

Also, yes there are 15% off codes for sublimator.ca you can find online.

Prior to purchasing my sub I was watching a few of marijuanamans live fb streams of him to see the functionality of the nail and found a 15% off code in one of his video descriptions. Im not home right now but when I am, I can search for the link.

Also, if you do a quick search for the #sublimator hashtag on instagram and search through a few pictures you will be able to find a few sublimator sales reps that have 15% discount codes in their pics or description. :)

@Hogni does this mean you're buying one? lol

Thanks for the shortcuts....I have alot of reading to do! I can't believe it's taken me THIS long to discover this awesome beast of a biogassification mass extraction device!

I consider both the Sub (and Sup3) to be like incinerators! They obliterate anything you throw in them like a blast furnace! Yet they produce the smoothest tastiest most potent vapour!

I wonder how the Sub does with unground like the Sup3...... guess it's time to test!

Hi @biohacker No way man! I'm just waiting for a pairing HexNail - Sub Apollo and CCA Liger 3.0.

But I'm very interested in a comparision between Sub/D-Nail Lotus Flower/New Vape Flower Pot/Herborizer Ti.

May be one of them is an alternative to the Sub?

@SoDelicious Thanks a lot for your advices!
I'm sure Ava and Liz would be very interested in getting your new device for optimizing the HexNail and checking the new cable connections.
