I was told by a retailer that usually stocks the Sub, that there are manufacturing issues, and it would be quite a long wait. I don't know how true that is, but given the apparent stock issues it does seem likely.

Perhaps Planet Vape can confirm?

Where can I get one, that does dry herb, oil, hash, etc. I am confused by all the different models. Please provide a model if not a link.

I have the Apollo heater head (titanium). It's mainly for flowers, but has holes where you can poke through concentrates. You can also do both at the same time

There's also the Dabmaster head, which I believe does both but is more suited to concentrates. I don't have this one though.

Finally, I think there's a nail heating head which just does oil, I can't remember the name though.

Good luck trying to find a unit, it seems most retailers are out of stock, except for the Eliminator model. Which requires heating with a blow torch.

Anyone know how sublimator.ca is doing. Are they gonna come out with more stock anytime soon. Hope to make a purchase as soon as possible. Need to get to subbinin soon.

CanoVet,
Hey everybody! Long time lurker, first time poster here. I ordered a Dabmaster Adapt-A-Kit from Sulimator.ca last Friday and it still hasn't shipped yet. I intentionally ordered from them because they didn't say anything about stock issues...

Now after reading this page I'm starting to think I'm going to be waiting a long time? I don't want to e-mail them and start complaining or being annoying... but god damn, I can't keep smoking these bowls. I'm gagging after every few hits, I hate it!!!

Oh also, the dabmaster was a good choice for primarily herb right? I will be doing concentrates here and there with friends so that's why I went with it over the apollo. But, correct me if I'm wrong, I thought the dabmaster functions literally just as well as the apollo does with dry herb - except it has the side lip for dabs too.

I'd email and inquire just be polite.;)

The way I see it is as written above;

Apollo for herbs>concentrates

Dabmaster for concentrates>herbs

I'm say 90% flower 10% concentrates so I went for the apollo ti. I had heard heat up/down times differ yadda ya. The one thing though with the apollo and oil is it hasn't got much room to sit in those holes, so it can run around a bit. Doesn't bother me much technique can avoid it, and it works wonders with flowers. I Can't give you any feedback on the dabmaster but im sure it will work great with both flowers and oils. I'm happy I chose the apollo but I'd also consider buying the dabmaster one day. Its all good.

Double deckers ahhhhh, I mean cmon best fucking vape ever.

Thanks for the response man! Actually I didn't even have to email them, today I received a shipping confirmation email from the Canada post :D! I can't wait to try a vaporizer from Canada - my goal is to hit one of every country. S&B - Germany, VXL and FF - USA, Sub - Canada, (too many to count) - China, ...

And I'm really hoping the dabmaster works equally as good as the apollo for herbs. The reason I went with it was because the design seemed identical to the apollo except for the wider base and lip for dabbing - I imagine the functionality is the same when using herb primarily??

I am a flower power man and will be using it for that most of the time, but I knew that dabbing in the holes would be nearly impossible for me on the Apollo. Plus I know it will be harder to get my friends to try it if they have to put the dabber in the holes too, as we're all used to just laying the dab on a flat surface like most nails. I kind of figured the dabmaster would be the only feasible way to actually be able to dab out of this piece...

I have the dabmaster, from what I know the apollo does in fact work better for flowers, but dabmaster is still very powerful. But even with the dabmaster i suggest dabbing into those holes, It'll function a lot better, the flat edge around the holes is really just there to catch any stuff dripping off. Dabbing into the holes is really not that complex imo, i'm sure you'll be able to handle it :)

Has anyone tried using a IR thermometer gun with the Sublimator? I got one the other day as I was keen to see what sort of ranges the Sub was capable of, and I wanted to make sure I was going below 400'F. Anyway, I found it really difficult to get a consistent result. The bottom half of the bowl and atomizer were far lower that the top part of the heater, I'm talking like 200 degrees difference if not more.

So I'm wondering the best place to point the IR gun to get an accurate reading.

I use mine all the time with the sub. I get accurate enough readings but the readings vary where you aim it. As long as I have 60-80c on the top part of the atomizer, and say 190-200c+ measured just below/on the join of the 2 bits of the apollo head I know its good to go and equilibrium is perfect.

I just waited until the sub had been on for ages to get my first measurements now I know them I can check with the ir and see if its warmed up properly and good to go.

My ir actually sits next to my setup I use it that much, handy when you miss a reset and have to wait for it to heat up again. I know exactly when im gonna get a proper hit out of it.

After reading this I've decided to purchase an IR thermometer gun too. i'm supposed to be getting the dabmaster tomorrow or wednesday, but i'm assuming i'd point the IR at the same spot you're talking about on the apollo. By any chance could you elaborate a little more on what spot you mean when you say just below the joint of the 2 bits? are you talking about the bottom-most part of it, the piece that's thinner than the rest of it?

thanks

So I need to put an IR on the list with the welding gloves when I buy this thing right, I wonder if there's anything else I need other than a huge bottle of aloe?

Well they're not essential items, but certainly handy to have around. I've only had to use the welding gloves once, when I couldn't unscrew the atomizer without heating it first.
As for the IR gun, I was just interested in the ranges in can do, but you can work it out by trial and error. Colour of the ABV is also a good indicator, first hit of the day is a sandy yellow at level 3 on the dial, and just before bed it's pretty much black at a 5 or 6.

Does anyone have a problem with the threads on the atomizer/bowl by the way? I find after about a month of use, the atomizer can't be fully tightened, it get's progressively worse until the bowl just spins on top.
I think the female threads of the bowl get clogged with oil, and they're very hard to clean. I soak both parts in ISO once a week, but I think I need some kind of tool to scrape out the oil. Just wondered if you anyone had any suggestions, as I don't really want to have to buy a new atomizer every month.

You can't accurately measure the Sub with an IR gun without adjusting for emissivity. Metals reflect infrared in proportion to how polished the surface is. Try this experiment: bring water to a boil in a stainless steel pot, then point your IR gun at the surface. Since a SS pot is shiny it reflects IR better than it emits it, so the reading will be much lower than 100°C/212°F.
