Hi guys! Funny to see how the news from France are seen by an american comic!
It's a true question: why the governement has arrested Dieudonné (the comedian) and, in the other hand, defend the freedom of speech?
I think it wasn't very clever to arrest him, and I don't think he will stay in jail for more than a few days...
But I see a difference between this man and journalists from Charlie Hebdo. I explain:
Dieudonné has been in difficulty with the french justice a lot of times, because of his anti semetic position, who is going very far from humour: he has supported Youssouf Fofana, who has killed and tortured a young men because he was jew. To say "I'm feeling Charlie Coulibaly" (the name of one of the killer) is, imo, very borderline. And I think this comedian is not making a joke here... It's his true feeling...
Charlie Hebdo is a satire, may be bitter sometimes, not funny each time, it's true.
Dieudonné is calling for hate... It's not the same thing.
What would happen in the States if someone supports the men who drive the plane who crashed in the twin towers?
