Very reasonably priced alternative to the tami ----> http://skunkpharmresearch.com/ They have instructions on how to make what's called a Terpenator, and links to buy them, along with a multitude of info on cannabis, extracts, etc. Click, read, learn, re-produce
I highly suggest reading every article on this website, especially those pertaining to concentrates, etc.

Ok. I just received the oil slick DUO pads from amazon. $11 free shipping. They look realllllly nice and I can't wait to use them but MAN! These pads are tiny. About 3' x 4.5'. Postcard size. I'm sure ill be able to make good use of them but just want to give a heads up to peeps thinking its this huge pair of pads. It's not.

Lmfao I know exactly what you mean I was at a friends house today showing him the persei and somehow started talking about winterizing bho with ethanol. i got the same kind of look that happens when I am explaining something related to my job (hvac) i.e. an airflow problem and mention fluid dynamics of air, heat transfer and refrigeration, ......

MightyVac metallic hand pump kits is what you want ! the only one that reaches really 29 psi and keeps them for more then 10 mn + with a vacuum chamber that can cop with < to 8 -10 g. of errls!
@smokum, 12 vac for that load is a little overdo IMO...at some point you are just oxydizing your oil with more and more tiny oxygene bubbles, right? I always stop at 5 for average 3gr of final product !
EDIT: read me right, not saying you did anything wrong or that lowered the quality of your product, just trying to determine where is the limit between efficiency/productivity and the added quality value it brings to the final product! My self, by security, used to do sometimes 8 or 9 vacs but the experience has shown me the product doesn't change that much after the 5th vac...so maybe you can save some time/energy in the process, that's all! Cheers!

i actually have an extra of those mityvac. was my first level gear. worked great. just got my oil slicks from that ebay post. thanks again to FLKswat and smokum! this set is great. ball came with logoed rubber band to keep it together and the jar to hold it (wasn't sure they'd come w/set). it has two of the small pads goat pussy got, the ball and a very large pad for spraying. so large that i'm thinking of cutting out a perfect circle to wedge into my tami and i'd still have over a third of it untouched. decisions, decisions.....

Just felt like taking the vacs to the max for shit n giggles..... I managed 12 until I was only raising tiny bubbles with no substance rise, and I also started off not fully hot water purged just to see what would happen with using less heat to remain molten (which after the 4th purge need to be hit with a heat gun mildly for the remaining pulls anyways).
Frankly, I don't really notice that much of a difference in final between 4 and 12 pulls to be honest, other than it was starting to budder.
In other words........ I'm playing and just trying different things for my own sakes seeing that I wasn't pulling finger/hand/arm cramps using a hand pump any more.

I wouldn't blast into hot water as the butane might not seperate with a large surface area of water to diffuse into. I like warm pyrex with hot water bath underneath. I don't know how hard it would be to evap all the water out of the oil, but would certainly float on top. I got a set of the slick pads, need a chance to try them out! cheers
I will level with you here. I had an oops that ended with oil in my water... Yes you can do it strait into water, yes it will purge, but your going to have a giant mess trying to get ur oil back out. The added water in ur oil will also casuse accelerated oxidization killing ur strength and it will never hard set to glass, it will always be a little tacky and it will sizzle and boil on ur ti and a boiling water spot doesnt taste so good on ti or quartz

I personally never (and still don't) understand the need or want to actually spray direct into water when the process of a separate dish of hot water purge works just fine
