Smoke VS vapor : couch locking

I've also noticed this same phenomenon with the "couch-lock"
Vaping is more effective and you end up with high cannabinoids levels of things like THC levels in the blood.
Also when vaping I think people tend to manage the dose better, taking a few hits rather than smoking for longer sessions and getting baked, which I find tends to happen if smoking joints.
Maybe this could be partly why vaping is less likely to induce the "couch-lock" experience?

I'm also sure strain makes a difference, and weed has changed a lot in the 20+ years or so I've been smoking it, I'm sure the stuff I had back when I was in Uni made me more sleepy than the stuff I smoke or vape now.
