Made some BHO blasting directly into ethanol. Thats the only way I'll do it as a non vac owner. I'm always happy with the results when I use this method, but holy shit the flavor and smell of this one. 3 strain mix, old dried out buds too.

I've been trying a lot of new techniques to improve. I find color the biggest challenge. I think its pretty difficult to get light color out of trim EVER, and its nearly impossible to get light color out of older buds. Which is a serious setback for me haha.

Ethanol hash is surprisingly easy to make. Just have to not rush it and have the correct materials.

I still can't get over the fact that the cheapo Ronson butane at every walgreens ever is one of the cleanest sources of canned butane in the USA...

That stuff is potent, hella potent, I was immobilized for a a few hours, I wasnt paralyzed by any means but sure as hell didnt feel like doing anything at all! I am a get it done kinda guy, I dont sit still often for very long, I think I will only do that stuff every once in a while.

It can also make your tolerance shoot up if you aren't careful.

You're right, there are no mercaptans. Must have gotten myself confused. However, according to this link, Ronson has some pretty high PPM's compared to other brands that were tested.

I was blown away when I saw SkyHighLer's results too. I was under the impression that Ronson is total crap.

Both show Lucienne leaving very low residue. At $50 a case on Amazon I think that'll be my next butane purchase.

Big Lucienne fan here. Like MileHighLife said, it's cheap, and test well. People just seem to ignore Lucienne though, which is great because it keeps it cheap for me!

Pretty much anything that says 99.999% pure is actually the same company as Lucienne. I get "stok fire" or "stok fyre" or something like that. Same thing, its just what my local headshop carries.

I don't have enough bud to blast to justify buying a case at a time yet.

Question... I was talking to someone who just purchased a pretty pricey closed loop system to blast with. He was telling me that he "distills" his butane to remove contaminants, mystery oil, etc. before he puts it into the system.

Now I didn't get to ask how he does this exactly, but i was wondering if anyone here does the same or have heard of people doing this?

Yes this can be done. I was reading about Tamissium extractors and they said you can clean your butane with it. IIRC, you basically run a load but put activated carbon crystals in the extraction area and then when you transfer your 'tane from the main tank back to the recovery tank, you have a chance to leave behind impurities as well.
