RezBlock /Cranberry Extract

Assuming its safe, would you vape through anything other than water if it offered some benefit?

Ok can you explain what I would do? I have an Anova Sous Vide machine.

Wow, really? That's awesome! :)

Put my Hydratube in a ziplock? Get air out? Put water, dish soap and PBW in the ziplock with it? Then rinse thoroughly.

Okay, a ziplock should work - 'n yeah, you would fill it with your hardware and cleaning solution. Then put it in a water bath along with your Anova. That way you will keep the cleaning solution (and perhaps more importantly all the stuff you are trying to remove from your hardware) away from your Anova.

Although I tend to put my hardware (and cleaning solution) in an 8 qt container, and then put the 8 qt container in a 12 qt container with clean water and the heater/circulator like this:

Wow, sous vide cleaning bubblers. Truly have seen it all. I have one, will try soon. Oh and just a reminder to you guys about washing out your bongs after at most a few session or days. I let my FC UFO go for 4 days, just forgot to empty it and got white mold spores growing under the perc growing all along the inside base and up the walls. Wasn't thick but I knew what it was. Tried simple green, did nothing. Tried some weak low end iOS with salt, got some out but had to resort to a bleach soak. Have to get it all out, then dish soap to finish.

Yeah, I rinse whatever I am using with hot water every day, so I rarely have to do a serious cleaning. When I do it is usually PBW.

It certainly does start molding up quick with the BCCE I use. By day 2 I can see a bit.

Back when I combusted I sometime went 2 weeks. That taste would likely make me vomit after two plus years of vaping...

I would just remind everyone that using a little citric acid, aka sour salt, in your vaping medium will stop that icky growth for a long while. Citric acid is the "sour power" you find on sour candies. Its a natural food preservative and is quite safe and inexpensive. I have found through experiment that the sour flavor in no way competes with the flavors of your vapor. You just need enough to lower the PH in your cran/water mix to about 3 or 4.

And citric acid is often available in the bulk food section of your grocery store, where it is pretty affordable. I know my local Whole Foods has it.

I haven't tried this yet, and I have been meaning to. In truth, however, since I started vaping I am much more sensitive to taste and smell when consuming so I would likely want to change my water every day anyway. :)

The pinkish film that developed in my hydra-tube after some rezblock had been left in there and dried up, has finally started to begin flaking off; probably due to excess use.
I want to get some Powdered brewery wash to knock it out but I don't know exactly where to get it. I believe there is a beer and wine making supplies store nearby I could try, I don't imagine home depot, lowes or any of the other basic stores would carry it.

Cybrguys link works or you can go to a local Beer Supply House.

Thanks for the cleaning info you have passed on to the rest of us.

@t-dub or anyone else, what ratios are you using - Water:Cranberry Extract:Citric Acid in your water pieces?

It pretty much depends on the volume of your glass.

For me, in my old HydraCirc Hydratube, I'd place about 3 drops. In my Mobius Ion Matrix, I find 5-7 drops works about right.

Experiment, and see what works for you. There is a diminishing return, the more drops you add and I've found adding too many drops will cause the stacking in my Mobius to reach right up to the mouthpiece...so, less can be more in this case.

I use about 1 drop for every 10ml.

I'm assuming you guys are talking about the cranberry extract. How about the citric acid?

I just want to say that it is really fun to see all of the videos different people upload here with vapor shots coming from bubblers with "pink" water. Rezblock was first, but it was green, then red. I figured it out as quickly as I could, thinking people might be receptive, but I had no idea that it would turn into what it has. I am thankful to you all who have participated, experimented, read, posted, and helped this idea come to fruition. There are just too many to thank, I don't know where to begin.

This thread though has pretty much run its course it seems, lots of repetition, and I suppose I will have to make a resource thingy so that folks will have easy access to a short, concise bit of information on the subject. Thanks again to everyone for being open to new ideas, believing, understanding and implementing science in the hope of better vaping for all . . . :peace:

Edit: I will probably be saying something similar in the PBW thread some time soon.
