Recyclers with Vaporizers?

Hey guys,

I'm curious about something. Most of the time I see a recycler in use, it's for BHO. Hence, almost all recyclers have a 14mm male joint standard.

Anyone here use their recyclers with a vape? For me, I've only use a little one with my EVO, so it enevr got much vape use because it was so small. But for people with bigger recyclers, do you like how they perform with a vaporizer?

IMO, there's really no difference between a recycler and any other water pipe...

The water splashes around a bit differently, and can be more suited for one thing or another, but at the end of the day all it's doing is passing vapor through water.

IMO small vs large is a much bigger factor than recycler vs non-recycler.

I personally don't consider a recycler particularly special in and of itself.

It's all about the overall function of the piece.

I have a really Bitchin EFS incycler, but at the end of the day it is really quite similar in function to my other Efs tube which is a very similar setup but without the incycler part.
I probably use those 2 about the same amount each.

My möbius clear matrix is my hands down "goddammit everyone MUST own one of these" favourite piece I own.

For me, it strikes the perfect balance of size, diffusion, and drag (for a vaping piece, the ion is preferable for oils Imo, though they are both incredibly similar in function)

Some people want/need a super sweet vortex on their recyclers.
I don't really care too much about that though as it doesn't really affect the hit too much.

IMO the best way to think about a recycler is to consider the recycler section a splash guard - a highly functional splashguard that can help prolong water contact a bit, but still, a splashguard...

I have 2 pieces that the vortex actually makes a huge difference. I have my Doughboy Klein Hydratube, and my Distilled Glass Double Recycler. They both spin the water so fast it literally spins the vapor causing some of the coolest hits you'll experience. Now i have other recyclers some vortex and others don't,but the ones that do vortex you can't feel the cool like those 2. I will say the vortex on those 2 is practically a
category F5!!

I have to side with @Frederick McGuire on this one. I for one, never noticed a huge difference between pieces like my Fillacello Recycler from Distilled Glass and some other comparable piece. A fast spinning vortex is certainly visually pleasing, but I don't feel it's doing anything extra to the vapor. At the point it's spinning, the vapor is separated from the water.

I wish we could do some real double blind studies with pieces like this. See how much is placebo, and what is actual.

I'd love to pick up another Mobius Clear Matrix, I loved that piece. Should never have sold it.



But back to the OP, I used to use a large volume recycler (see link in sig) with my EVO. Worked fantastic, but I couldn't say it did anything that my Clear Matrix couldn't do. It's just nice to have some variety from time to time.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, most recyclers I've seen around here don't recycle. They make that nice spinny vortex thing everybody is after and that's about it. Fancy splashguard, nothing else.

Does recycler help with conditioning the vapor further? We can argue about that all day. What I can say is that my Bird and my Cory recycler subjectively hit very different from my SoL Double Lace Disc or Crystal Fog gridded inline to honeycomb. To me the hits are tastier but a bit rougher on the throat than my high diffusion pieces.

I have 11recyclers. 6 actually vortex. Only 2 can i truly feel a cooling effect. The klein hydratube is a 6 slit inline perc. I get the tastiest smoothest coolest hits imaginable from it. You can literally see vapor spinning before it shoots directly into your mouth. My daily driver(I have 3 daily drivers). My double is a piece i purchased from @BoogerMan from Distilled Glass. It has 2 10 slit inline percs. It spins the vapor in two huge funnels before it enters in your mouth. Extremely huge flavorful smooth hits. Both of these pieces hold a
tub of water. All of my recyclers(with proper water levels) recycle streams of water from the bottom of the piece to the top and back to the bottom. YMMV

I have a Corycycler, and that thing hits smooth with a sweet vortex to trip on.

I have a very similar opinion to @Cannabis Connoisseur (nice taste in glass IMO). My Doughboy recycler is my favorite hydratube by far. The flavor and diffusion are a great balance. My Distilled glass recycler is my favorite non-hydratube piece by far as well. Admittedly, I've never tried a Möbius piece, though, only Chinese knockoffs.

I am a big fan of supersweet vortex, it looks pretty - but I gotta agree with my friend Frederick here. Function wise, I like a lot of other pipes better than the recyclers I've used (including my pyrology recycler which I have dabbed on the past year or so).

One thing I find is that I prefer slightly bigger cans on my dab rigs than what most oil pieces have, so that bigger hits can be drawn through effortlessly.

My Kevin Murray rig fills that space nicely, having a great sized can (about 5" tall and 2.5-4" in diameter before the mouthpiece), minimal water with good diffusion (but not too much). I get my hits through so much more effortlessly with this piece than smaller oil rigs I have used in the past as my daily drivers.
