While I definitely believe that artists should be paid fairly for their work I have to agree with a lot of the sentiment here. Frankly a lot of people in the glass community are pretty arrogant and snobbish, as well as being pretty poor at business. Not a good combo, and not one I prefer to support with my money. The way people scoff at the cheap china glass kinda makes me laugh though. Reminds me of big auto in detroit reacting to cheap japanese cars being imported. That stance worked out great for them.
At least it makes it even easier to support the good guys out there. I don't mind a slight premium to know I am dealing with stand up folks.

when an "artist" gets pissy about someone coping the simplest of ideas... thats sad... cause they can do so much more and simply got called out on how cheaply they "could" be selling their fritts or domes or bangers... totally dilutes the respect. worry about that $10000 rig that RECYCLES and is 1 of a kind and let the accessories go... let people copy the easy stuff and if u want and can get big buyers.. focus on them! someone else can fill your shoes... not like they dont already.

I've seen quave's kleins sell for well over $5k so when you pay $160 for a banger you are paying for his time, quality and expertise. Haven't a bunch of the China bangers had severe quality issues? I don't blame him for being upset. Of course there is the issue of someone undercutting him but he isn't hurting for demand even at 160 a piece. The bigger issue is when people resell them making very little effort, if any, to differentiate them from a quave. This does affect him and his reputation. I believe there is a market at both ends of the spectrum as long as resellers are honest.

Everybody has been unpatriotic for years(I mean "buying" things), that's one of the main reasons organized labor is almost non-existent in this country and wages have been so stagnant while corporate profits are skyrocketing. If YOU don't value your work, who will, the Corporation? That is why I try to buy American when I can. Not because I think 'murica is the best, but how can I expect my kids to make decent, living wages one day, if we don't value American labor. I could of bought some cheap ass washer and dryer made who knows where for cheap. BUT, we chose to buy from a US manufacturer in Wisconsin, Speed Queen.
We have been conditioned in this country to believe that we aren't "worth" anything, that it's OK to be paid shite while CEOs and VPs run companies into the ground and rob em blind, all while the American brothers and sisters step on each others necks for a .50 an hour raise. Reagan started fucking organized labor and it's gone down hill(along with wages and benefits for the worker) ever since.

Not the place for this kinda commie talk, I know. Nothing against @farscaper, just started me thinking bro. i hope you don't think i am belittling you or anything like that.

LOL, yes that piece was made for me and ordered through the Lion's Den. However, Evan forgot to put opals in the plinko rods so he is making another for me. This one will be sold so its available. You think this baby is nice, you should see the Plinko I grabbed last week. A colab between Pyro and Taylor Sims. I have not seen a better Plinko and if I knew of this one I wouldn't have ordered the other one

Even though I know Evan personally I try to go through a shop if I made my original connection through them. I do that out of respect. The owner of the Lion's Den is a personal friend too. They have really helped Pyro, Taylor Sims and Surley grow their market.

Yes I was amazed when I heard that. He did study under some heavy weights also. Popo was one I know. Popo doesn't do much pipes these days so many don't know him. He does pure glass art now. Lamps, shades etc. That said he applies himself very well, works hard and has tremendous talent. Got to respect that.

don't think its available anymore. They move quick. However, it pretty straight forward to do another if you do want one in the future.

36-hole perc bubbles into the vortex recycler.
this certainly wasn't my first setup, but it's by far one of the nicest I've ever used letalone personally owned. so pleased with being able to skip the butane and not pause the movie/game/conversation while everyone takes turns on the dabs. there are of course more elaborate rigs with multiple percs n chambers for ice, etc etc. but at what point does that accomplish anything more than just an even smoother hit? I'm not losing anything in there, am I?

it's hard to figure out what is reality and what is just theory when it comes to dab recycling.
is it possible that THC is lost by not using (so-to-speak) 'direct injection' of the vapor? too many bubbles??

I've heard good arguments on both sides.
all I know is my dabs are large and smooth and still pretty tasty... but where do we go from here?
