recommend a device for concentrates?

I am asking this question for a friend who uses mostly concentrates. what is the best device for concentrates? he is looking more for a portable device but desk top devices are welcomed too. I did do a little reading into it and found a thread that mentioned about coils getting so hot so hot there is a possibility of the coils releasing micro particles into the vapor, I think he would like to avoid that.

I struggle at the term "best". How much does he want to spend? On the low end, and still works great - a pen-style portable might be good: say, a Yocan Evolve Plus. You can get ceramic or coil.

You may have a hard time finding portables that don’t get their coils too hot since fast high heat is difficult to avoid if you’re trying to heat up from room temperature very quickly, but there are good desktops that don’t have that issue.

It’s on the high end, but the NewVape D-Cup has been getting good reviews. There’s some chance you could break the dish if you’re not careful with it, the coil and e-nail controller may need replacing eventually, but the rest is Titanium and should outlast us all. :)

They also have the FlowerPot (especially the VRod version) which does have the disadvantages of a smaller (but still good sized) dish and more hot air coming through, but it does give you the ability to vaporize flower and concentrates with the same device - even at the same time if you want to.

If he wants something in between this high end gear and the low end pens and stuff, I don’t have experience with them but a decent quality quartz banger with an e-nail coil shouldn’t be too expensive and should give very good performance too. @710Coils here is one guy who could set you up with that kind of thing. :)

Hard to beat the price of quartz banger and glass, plus smooth hits and compatibility across the board, very clean. Question is do they wanna use a torch or enail. For portable I think any sort of quartz bucket bottom heater atomizer on a MOD is the best choice, there are a few options. I'd avoid titanium buckets if flavor is important. Downside to savoring the flavor off quartz, a little more work to clean but nothing bad so long as you stay on top of it!

I'm not a concentrate guy but my Carta works great. I like it better than my EVO for concentrates.

For portable, the new Divine Tribe Quartz Quest v4 is absolutely outstanding, pairs very well with a hydrotube/hydratube but works very well without as well, and runs very well on an Arctic Fox mod such as a Pico 75 or even better on a DNA device such as the Paranormal DNA250C.

For desktop, I think the 710 coils stuff is absolutely amazing, but if glass breakage scares you, then I think the recommendation above of the D-Cup is a good one as well!

Really a lot of good options though, it's a good time to be into vaping concentrates :)

not an issue if you use them with a mod box with low wattage or temp control, and most pen vapes comes with a multi setting battery now.
V4 by Divine Tribe is a winner imho!

I’ve been happy with my Pax 3, but I’m not a frequent user nor am I an expert so take my good experience in that context.

Banger & torch/enail coil, with a small recycler & bubble cap...accept no substitute.

Another vote for the DCup. Simple to clean, full desktop power, and with a sapphire dish it can get really low temps and great flavour while keeping all the clouds.

Highly recommended and well worth the money.

Is recycling all that? I’ve never used one, can’t extrapolate....

Yeah, you're probably right. Recyclers are pretty and fun, but some may be of the opinion that a simple single-hole downsten in a bubbler is superior for the flavor department, and they are most likely correct.

Other than commercially available vape pens I've not found a portable I really like-I've tried to like the DaBox by Vivant but it really never did it for me.

On the desktop front I've loved using the Ditanium desktop enail and convection vape. In fact I started my day with a stacked dab using CBD flower in the hand piece and dabbing a nice hybrid. It's the smoothest vapor I've ever gotten either through a whip or the whip into a water piece. Great flavor, great extraction and a breeze to maintain.

How can I be right when I don’t know anything about it? :D

My problem is that my wife is flower girl, and there nothing in the budget for getting concentrate, or for getting enough extra for pressing...most of my ‘concentrate’ turns out to be reclaim from pipes and grinder washes. By the end of a quarter z I’ve already iso-washed all the pipes etc & re-evaporated at least twice. The other side of my problem is where I live - our housemate owns the house, and is freaked right TF out by dabs or any of this “new gear”. No arguing, so no glass. So I’m still pretty inexperienced and uncertain about it...and the rigs, which I don’t get to use unless she goes away, which is rare.

Being bereft of supply these last six months hasn’t been fun...I envy those who can just ‘go get some’

While I do think the Dcup and Liger are both neat, interesting devices... calling them "best" is kinda messed up... No offense to owners/enthusiasts of either, but man... That is a lot of metal in the airpath.

A simple banger+rig is the cheapest easiest way to get a high-end concentrate consumption device... A nice @710Coils setup will easily rival (if not best) a Liger/Dcup setup... for a much lower entry price. I am sure Sapphire and Ruby may taste better, but that's a lot of money that you could potentially break in seconds due to thermal shock...

Bangers (whether torched or used with an enail) also have an ALL GLASS VAPOR PATH.

It's almost insulting if you're spending top dollar on high-end concentrates to burn them, or vape them off of metal/a device with metal airpath...

To each their own of course...

The Puffco Peak only gets an exclusion for me due to how easy it is to clean/maintain the vapor path, and how it is mostly all glass. There's maybe 1inch of high-quality platinum silicone, which is currently necessary considering the devices design.

I'm not going to say the Peak is the best or most fair-priced item on the market, but I have had nothing but great experiences with mine, and have retired my enail setup for now (since >6months ago...lol) since upgrading my Peak to a quartz dish.
