Recently used vapes and vapes to look forward to!

I have pretty much used everything on my set up recently.

My most used items, I guess I would say they are my favorites would be: Universal Baller, WoodWynd, IO Hornet, and the Vong
There really aren't any vapes I am looking at, however, there are a lot of accessories I would like to have for the vapes I do have.

You'll never regret a roasty. Actually that's not true. You'll regret not getting the other one you liked as well, so deffo buy them both if you're torn between the two. They're as gently relaxing as the Vapman, and lend themselves to long languorous sessions. I prefer not to do clouds with them but gently toast away the flavour, until the stoney roasty starts coming through. In fact you've inspired me to hit mine right now
I'm not sure what you mean about "the other one" ?
But yeah I've heard some good reviews of the Roasty, so probably pick one up soon, may even order one now 😂 I've had a tab open on my phone for ages

I used to do the opposite. Avoid buying the vapes I really want because they're a bit more expensive, by buy a ton of other vapes that mildly interest me. Which ends up being more expensive.

Ive been doing the opposite of what I used to do this time around and my wallet is upset but recovers and im more satisfied.

Beautiful setup. How are you finding the Universal Baller?

So far I am liking the UB a lot. If I am going to use a typical size bowl and a bong, the UB is my fav. I am really looking forward to trying it out wired and trying out the fritted disc again with it wired too.
When I can afford it I would like to get the stainless steel conversion kit and compare them.
I am really happy with it and can't wait to try more accessories.

I wasn't really convinced by my UB wirelessly.
I like it so much more when it's wired; it's a real beast.
But after much discussion on Troy's Discord group, I pre-ordered the SS housing to use it wirelessly, with other accessories.
After my experience with the Hornet, I think SS is better suited to providing better performance for a wireless baller than titanium.

After extensive testing, I personally prefer the high airflow disc.

I like to have vapes and grinder stations in different places in the house. My garage setup is a couple of Dynavaps with The Caldron Induction Heater plugged in. Great for a couple of rips when I'm working on my motorcycles. In my bedroom which leads to the back covered patio my Mighty + lives on my nightstand. I charge it with the S&B supercharger. My favorite vape for laying in bed by the way. During the day it's out on the patio table poolside. It's great for passing around and company always love it. I use it with the stock cooling unit and have two so it's always usable. The Tinymight 2 is also used poolside but not with glass, stock titanium or Ed's Tnt bocote wood stem. By the front door were I keep my keys, I have vapes and cases depending where I'm going and doing. Mostly my Crafty +, H.R. Fury Edge ready to go. Often take both with doob tubes. I like two smaller vapes instead of the Mighty +. Easy to carry and load. Stealth and all day vaping without charging. Also great for day long motorcycle trips. For 2 thru 21 day motorcycle adventures, offroad camping and stays at the cabin I also carry a charger. My Iolite with a can of butane in my First Aid Kit. Going upstairs, I'll start in the kitchen we're my Tafee Bowle 2 is my goto vaporizer. I've had it over a year (SN # 001JA019) and don't believe I could live without it! Easy of use, instant heat and that battery always has me reaching vs TM2. Not a big fan of the cup or grinder though. Living room my Rouge 2 and Legecy Pro for sipping on the couch. In the dining room my Nugsmasher Mini, Puffco Proxy and Firefly 2+. In the grow room my Ariza Extreme Q runs 24-7 with the whip setup. Always there when I need back relief tending to plants. Looking to upgrade to a log vape for that room, still researching wireless ball vapes. I look forward to receiving the Legacy Pro 2 I ordered back in April. I also want to try a portable handmade wood vape like a Firewood. 🌱😎

I have been using a Vapman and Musa pretty consistently for almost two weeks. I usually switch it up more frequently, but have been pretty busy recently. Plus I didn’t really mind, because both are absolute winners.
Looking forward to my Toad arriving as soon as Dan finishes up for my Nomad brethren. Shout out to all those folks for hanging in there!

What's that beast of a j-hook? Looks awesome!

I've been using my Heat Island for single-hit microdoses with the 2.5" GonG roasting tube. Tempest V2 is my go-to for longer solo sessions. Venty (with 8mm adapter, wood MVS, and spinning components) for on-the-go and passing around.

I currently have a ZX (first desktop ball vape!) and AVLP 2 on order. I'm mildly curious about the Tiodw UB knockoff (though it'd probably be overkill for my consumption levels), and I'm on the list for a GTR (I assume it'll be a year or two before my name comes up).

Great thread BTW!

I believe that's the Xeric from Cloud Connoisseur if I'm not mistaken. A very awesome hook.

def recommend the zx. I've expanded my ball vapes to include lots of conduction types to play with. Even with some crazy VAS going this last year I don't have a single other desktop convection device besides some CC glass diffuser bowls and the io hornet stinger bowl. All have failed the reach test spectacularly. I thought about the new CH Aether but its best case scenario is to be a zx with a larger bowl. Wireless totally tempts me as the zx is my only wired ball vape. So I ordered an extra zx heater and am making a wireless one

I have a DaBuddha vape with the baller upgrade but outside of this heavy hitter, I don't own a true desktop ball vape that functions with a PID yet.

The ZX has been at the top of my list due to the reverence it receives on this forum and the zirconia design but I've been watching the space a bit and the Universal Baller intrigues me a lot as well. When I do take the leap to grab my first ballvape, I want to shoot for the moon.

I am not familiar with the ZX. I am seriously considering investing in the Aether though.

Fantastic 14mm zirconia ball vape with top flavor and effects, a perfect little one-hitter.

I have the zx and the flowerkettle. The flowerkettle is made to destroy you. The zx leaves me wondering if I recently ate something because im medicated and forgot i just vaped. Don't get me wrong the flowerkettle is quite good on flavor. But the zx is excellent

Well, I know @ColdAssistant love's their UB, like top tier. AFAIK an Aether is a made in the USA titanium version of the UB presumably with better machining. My hesitation is that while glass is great for flavor, it's actually an insulator and that's not really what one wants between the coil and the balls.

I have never tried a UB / Aether, but it looks to me like the best it could ever hope for taste wise or performance wise would be to match a phase3 vape. Metal shield + glass liner is a two part solution to try to get the strength and taste properties that exist in zirconia without the need for lots of thickness.

For using at home (where I almost always consume my herbs):
have been completely satisfied with an Enano XL with JoDa stems... would love to get at least another one or two of them to have them all plugged-in around my home... but not really in my plans soon to get one. If I did, it would either be another Enano XL or a GTR or a Couchlog CL.

For outdoor/away-from-home use (almost never my use case):
I have an ArGo that serves fairly well as long as I pack correctly and not a single one of stem holes clogs even a bit. But Ive been meaning to get a better portable for some time now... a Bowle or TM2 were my top choices, but the Frolic, Solo 3 or the ALPV 2 might be good options for me too.

Yeah those glass stems are tricky. Maybe you could try a small regular metal screen on top to prevent the glass holes from clogging.

WPA only
I only vape at home, every other day on average, always outside on a (private) covered porch. Unless it's in use, my gear is stored in a cabinet. I have a construction worker style metal lunchbox that contains my Lobo, extra batteries, dosage caps, measuring spoons, a WPA, rolling tray (for filling caps), and small amounts of a half dozen different strains. It's a great kit .... basically a mobile weed bar that never leaves my property.

My Ruby Twist stays in a carpenter toolbox along with accessories that I use with it (e.g., microdose bowl, power strip, measuring spoons, etc.). Because the Lobo is so much easier to set up and put back away, that's what I use 90%+ percent of the time. The Ruby Twist comes out every 6 weeks or so and is a more special indulgence. It's fantastic, of course, but it'd significantly increase my tolerance if I used it routinely.

TM2 is still down. I got it back from being fixed and the only thing they changed is the battery cover doesn’t screw down, so it’s an ornamental brick (waste of money!)

FATx, Lobo, Mighty+ and Tafee Bowle are getting me by.

AVLP2 is on preorder, but I don’t know that I’m necessarily excited by it, it was just too cheap to walk away.

I really haven’t seen much in the works to get excited about. Venty scares my because of the returns, especially after this experience with the TM2 so I’ll probably skip that. I still have a dog and cat that make me question the safety of a Ball vape. Log vapes seem a waste since they don’t have the hits of the ball vapes apparently. I might get a Solo 3, but once again, I wouldn’t say I’m excited by it, as much as I don’t have an Arizer portable in the collection.

I think with the headaches folks have had with the Venty, and my headache with TM, my next vape will be purchased with a heavy preference for reliability. Spending weeks trying to get an expensive medical device fixed, especially one as expensive as these devices, isn’t worth it.

You might reconsider logs if you havent tried them personally. I have most recently owned an enano xl. Based on that experience alone I consider logs to be the 80% ball vape solution. My zx benched my log and i sold it, but if i hadnt wanted to try ball vapes the log was great for ohe of the amount i wanted to use

I have both, and honestly, you really can’t go wrong with either one.
I’ve shared my detailed opinion comparing the two in the P3 thread.

If flavor is your priority, the ZX easily wins over my UB. It’s also more versatile, and I find it truly exceptional with Moroccan hash.

The UB has the advantage of being modular and compatible with a wide range of bowls. My favorite is the micro-dosing bowl with a glass screen.
It doesn’t clog, unlike all the others I’ve tested before.
By the way, new injector inserts in 14 mm and 18 mm are currently in the works, so the UB is about to get even more impressive!

To sum it up, I use the ZX daily because I prioritize flavor over raw power. The flavors are more intense and, more importantly, they linger much longer than with the UB, where the terpenes fade quicker due to its higher power.
The UB is the one I use on weekends or when I have guests over.

I really love both, but if I had to keep only one, it would clearly be my ZX.

I recently acquired a Ruby Twist (had been using a Flowerpot (?) B0 for my ball vape).
Outside of it being considered an 'entry level' ball vape, I dunno why it doesn't get much mention on this site (I did search).

The 'fan shaped' section of the underbelly really does distribute air across the entire load. VERY even extraction; I never have a 'oh, I didn't get the maximum out of that load' (and I don't go all the way to 'crispy' (near / at pyrolization), although I could.

The downside of the thing (for me) is the limited load size. Only the matrix (Ti) bowl is recommended for heat soaking, and according to VGoodiez, the only other bowl that will fit / approved (that I don't have) is the Ed's TNT version. Which looks like it really doesn't hold that much more.

But the Twist is good enough for me that if they released a version compatible with more standard bowl sizes (and glass is fine; I don't break it)... I'd buy the updated version.

Now to jump to my next acquisition (maybe I'll use part of my upcoming tax refund to offset) is the new Tafee Bowle (sp?). I hear such great things about it, but if I wanted to pay $400 for a vape, I'd be looking at 'german enginEERing' with something from S&B. But that goes with the same reason I've never owned a BMW. No offense to Germany; my 'mutt' pedigree says I have some heritage, there. I do wish Japan was more forgiving with cannabis; I'd love to see what they do with TEDs, comparing their automotive prowess against Germany's (and I don't wish to take this off-topic with 'who builds the best cars for the $')

I've used this site (among others) to pick out 'best of breed' for the type of vape I want (hot stick, battery portable, corded). And for the most part, the recs have been spot-on, once the learning curves have been accomplished. I know we're all looking for 'something better', 'new', etc. -- but once I have something that works and is reliable for a particular use condition, I stick with it. The one thing I'd get involved with 'new' is if a vendor offered me a pre-release device for eval / recommendation for improvements. That, I'd love to do. Even if I had to pay for it (because my goal isn't to get 'free shit'... it's to get my hands on the current / upcoming ne plus ultra of devices, to make them work better.
