If you have an Amzn account, there must be SOMETHING accessible, at least to get started.
Reciprocated: If YOU find something even-handed (or, at least, strives for accuracy), let me know. If you have a Kindle account, and we can still lend books between members, that might be an option -?
(on edit: Lending libraries (electronic conduits) are even cheaper, and 'free' is good, especially when it comes to newlywed Jeff and his brown nosing ass. Waiting for the day the government presents me with a list of prior purchases. Should be fun!)
Will do. It's hard to find a completely objective treatise on the subject. I'm sure there out there - just have to keep searching.

You literally lived through the
entire Cold War. What the fuck do you think that cost? What the fuck do you think the Vietnam War was?
Actually the Cold war and Vietnam War was primarily due to fighting against communism while Socialism was definitely a part of it. But then, isn't socialism part of every communist country? BTW - these two examples do not constitute your claim of "around the world"
Here are some facts:
- North Vietnam was a communist republic led by Ho Chi Minh.
- War broke out between the North and South. From 1958 onwards, the South came under increasing attacks from communists in South Vietnam itself. They were called the National Liberation Front (NLF). Not the National Socialist Front (the last sentence here are my words).
- The Domino Theory. This was the belief that if one country fell to communism, it was likely that the neighboring one would also fall – similar to a row of dominoes falling over.
The above was taken directly from a publication from the BBC. I've looked at other sources that say the same.
The Cold War was a period of global geopolitical rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union and their respective allies, the capitalist Western Bloc and
communist Eastern Bloc, which began in the aftermath of the Second World War and ended with the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Wikipedia
The cost of the war was astounding, and I think, most agree. And since you asked the cost my research indicates estimates ranging from around $110 billion to about $160 billion. Just think what our country could have done with that amount of money.

Sorry, Bazinga, but this is a mic drop. Maybe the shortest best post he's written, in my time here.
Don't be so quick to drop the mic. Just because Dr. Florduh states something doesn't mean its true. Same goes for me. Read my post above It contains facts. The conflicts he states happened primarily due to stopping and preventing communism. Feel free to prove me wrong.
Also sorry for his perjorative (cause I know it bugs you.) I'm closer to your age than his, and I'm not offended, at least.
Okay, maybe. Here goes. Do you remember the TV show Sky King? Don't google it. Either your familiar with it or your not. Trivia questions about the show: What was the name of the plane? What was his niece's name? Interesting that I can remember this not not what I had for breakfast !!
Yeah, I'm old !
Hey Florduh. As soon I as finish the last one you recommended (quite an eye opener). I'd like to read the Devil's Chessboard. I already know that Allen Dulles was a POS. Also you stated "I was just mad that someone didn't remember what the Cold War was". I know you weren't referring to me. I did it fact, live through that stupidity. I've studied it (not intensely) and learned that the silliness was to due to ill fated attempt eliminate to eliminate communism.
I know you are all tired of this. But here goes:
Show me 1, just one, country that is fully socialistic and while it forces it's wealthy to share their wealth (notwithstanding taxes).
