Back in the late 70's and early 80's I ran the 5k and 10k frequently. I was first introduced to the sport by organizing a 5k walk/jog charity function to benefit Oxfam. I later found out that I was good at running these distances by having to outrun the football team which was looking to beat me up at every opportunity. I had to live at school so I was there all the time providing ample opportunities for ambush.Anyway, after running for a long period of time at a steady pace, My legs felt like the found a set gear and were running almost independent of my upper brain functions.
Did not have to focus on how I was running and the upper half of my body felt like it could pivot and the feet would correct themselves independently. It felt kinds freaky. But a friend knew about the phenom beforehand and asked me if I experienced that lizard brain kicking into cruise control and I mentioned the difference between that and the runner's high most folks are familer with. My drive to go further is a whole other subject.
Tomorrow is an ex girlfriend of mine's 40th birthday. Would it be wrong to buy her four D cell batteries & tell her I figured she could use them?
I always thought your genes would say you were @EnchantreI feel guilty
...but, what they did say, and this might be weird, is I'm significantly Neanderthal.I always thought your genes would say you were @Enchantre
Neanderthal genes are "Native American" genes if you follow the logic, that proves Neanderthal tools were found along a known migratory path which entered North America at that time in history......is I'm significantly Neanderthal.
It's more like having a base-level identity, Vitolo. I've never, ever "belonged" to anyone. To a real family.Neanderthal genes are "Native American" genes if you follow the logic, that proves Neanderthal tools were found along a known migratory path which entered North America at that time in history.
@Enchantre .... More Native than a Native American Indian... which mixed gene pools and evolved later.
Read why so much Neanderthal Genes are in American Indian gene pool.

If being Native and having a long and interesting history is of importance to you.... you just hit the Jackpot!
You belong to us, as well as to the Family of ManI've never, ever "belonged" to anyone.
I understand.To a real family
