I have to admit, I don't fully grasp the game. But even less so if it's played in a stadium. The guy did appear to hit the hell out of that ball or what ever. :tup:

He has a bit of a reputation for doing that. This picture is from the approximate location the ball landed & he hit it from the top of the sandy rectangle (pitch).

I had a mate from Bermuda back in the day. Big cricket fan. He said matches took entire weekends. Those folks hang out in that stadium all weekend long?

Btw he said a lot of other crazy shit too.

There are three kinds of cricket played currently.

T20 is 20 overs of 6 x bowls per over (120 deliveries) per side & each side plays one innings so it takes around 3 hours to play. Gaining in popularity every year & very exciting. Think home run derby kind of slogging & like a teenagers first time it is over quickly.

One day cricket is 50 overs per side (300 deliveries) & each side plays one innings so it takes around 7 hours to complete a game. Losing popularity compared to T20 & will likely be extinct within 20 years. Perfect for a BBQ & heavy drinking.

The real deal is Test Match cricket. Played over 5 days at a minimum over rate of 90 overs per day (540 deliveries per day). Each side can play up to 2 innings each (if required) & it is not uncommon for a test Match to be drawn after 5 days of play nor is it unusual for a player to bat for 8+ hours as they are not limited by time usually. It is played in the summer sun so temperatures are anywhere from 80-110 degrees & unbelievably hard.

Local club cricket will often be played over 2 days though & yes cricketers & their fans do love to party.

It is also said a Test Match is a test of a marriage as I know I have had more than a few relationships strained by cricket. Yes it does need to be on in the car & yes it has to be on TV in the background at a minimum at home. That is how summer works.

A game that rewards patience & keeping focused so you can make split second decisions like this catch of the year taken inside .6 seconds.


Interesting factoid: the first Australian team to play outside Australia was an Aboriginal team who toured England in 1868. Cricket, a sport where a man is judged by his catching, bowling & batting ability not his skin colour or religion.

It's well past time to get rid of my 55/45 poly-toxic blend boxer shorts.

I'm quite picky about brand and style, & these fit the criteria.

Not sure about the pattern, it's called florida keys ;)

I hope I like them, then I'm done!

What's with the thong underwear? I personally can't understand that, anyway for comfort, male or female. I can see wearing them when wanting to be sexy in the bedroom. What about these @grokit? They are made with cotton I'm sure - didn't check for toxic fabric. This man has shapely legs, it looks like a woman's leg. Oooh magic silk waiste band at the top.

I know this guy obviously waxes his legs. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Each to their own way of living is what I say. The thong underwear for women I never did quite get into the fashion for out and about. Not very comfortable. The low jeans and the thong underwear look horrible. I don't see as much of that anymore. It just looks slutty - not classy whatsoever.

Just got back from a root canal, over an hour in the chair, thinking to myself, "I'd rather have root canal than sitting here -- hey -- wait a minute, this isn't fair!" No GH tonight, just the smooth open draw stylings from the S&B team. Can't forget the vodka. Would have mixed well with pain killers I didn't get.

I went 100% cotton about 15 years ago.
Blennds are bad feeling to me.
I just got 8 pairs (I guess half a lifetime) of THESE.
Stafford is my favorite cotton boxer.

I've been a jockey fan for years, but if I ever need more I may look into those!

I just bought a half-dozen long-sleeved cotton t-shirts for similar reasons. For me it's not just a bad feeling, although I wouldn't rule that out; it's more about multi-year acute reactions from my (poly) surgical mesh that I'm just figuring out. Four hanes beefy-t's direct, and a couple of russell athletics from amazon.

I haven't shopped at jcp in decades, and never heard of stafford :shrug:
I thought it may have been a house brand, but they seem to be sold elsewhere.

The reason I bought so many pairs was to qualify for free shipping;
with their 5% one-day discount applied I got my jockeys down to $3.75 each :)
