It says 100% quartz. I'm not starting on conspiracy theories...
If it had an opaque thick bottom i'd be pulling the trigger and torching the absolute fuck out of it, just to SEE if it fractures one day! Because regardless, in my hands it's only a matter of TIME before it fractures ANYWAYS!

I've almost picked one of those up on dhgate a bunch of times. At first I liked the idea of letting it do all the work moving everything around, but after using different bubble caps for a while I like having some control. I have an easier time keeping stuff off the walls and I remember reading a post recently where someone said that happens with those.

Yeah, that's my experience with it. It's great at what it does, but causes the oil to climb the walls of my banger really-fucking-fast. Does huge, quick rips very well but not really the type if you're wanting to savor those low-temp dabs, imo.

@superdang9000 just curious if the full opaque is something I should consider? I'd even love just 5mm sidewalls of opaque like the puck.. Just trying to create my own VAS problems

@biohacker So far I really like the function of it. It has a nice, deep dish and beveled edge. But, the one I got isn't polished very well or something. It gets visibly dirty quickly and doesn't come off as easily using my normal methods. Even after a Simple Green hot bath last night, it still looks sort of dingy around the lower walls and floor. The performance is there, I'm just not sure I want to deal with the extra work to have consistently clean dabs.
My SiC insert just came yesterday so I'm playing around with that right now. Could be an interesting combo with the full opaque...

Wow, thanks for the article! I suspect that is what's happening here, or at least part of the equation. I'm unsure about foreign contaminants, as I don't really have anything to test that, but the quality and density of cells on this one (from what I understand) leaves something to be desired. To be honest, I half-expected this, since the opaque nature makes it much easier to mask imperfections. I can't be sure, but I think they may have even done a partial sandblasting to the outer walls to help mask even more.
It does make me wonder if ponying up more $$ for a higher quality banger might be worth it, after all. But, if this insert works out, I'll probably go back to not fretting about it.
That said, I think there is some real potential to a well made all-opaque banger.I don't torch my bangers, in fact I don't think I even own a torch anymore.

Well there is your solution to a spotless clean banger or insert in seconds, but to each their own.

Greek does the same thing as 710 coils where he inspects every banger that comes through. He even does tests where he drops them down the stairs on his instagram. Thanks for turning me on to greekglass. I've been wanting to order a low cost glass q-tip/iso station that had the iso tube in the center, instead of on the side. I think I shall be ordering the one they have for sale soon...

@Ramahs The credit must go to @pghjd as he referred me to them! I'm still amazed at how affordable GGS prices are and those qtip/iso creations are absolutely gorgeous!
I'm just curious for all you dabheads out there though, do most/many of you actually use ISO on a hot nail rather than distilled water? Just wondering if this is something I should try... I used to have success with distilled water with my D-nail SiC halo, but with my opaque quartz a wet q-tip doesn't do anything more than a dry.

Do u use Dc Cleaner in a hot banger? Ive only used it as a soaker and its amazing! Keeps my Sapphire dish looking new
Ive been eyeing up greekglass now since catching up with this thread a few days ago and it looks too good to be true tbh
I really want to order a ruby and sapphire insert but at same time i feel like something has to be up for prices to be that good, I dunno

I've only ever used iso. I've heard of people using distilled water as an alternative, but I've never tried it.

Just got my half-opaque banger from GGS. Shipping was pretty quick and they threw in what looks like a 6mm ruby sphere. I'll reserve judgement until I've used it a few times, but the quality already looks to be an order of magnitude better than the full opaque I grabbed from DHGate.
edit: my SiC dish fits nice and snug in there now too.

Does anyone NOT use a terp pearl? I wasn't satisfied with oil going up the sides of my insert, using a single clear quartz pearl, so I took it out and noticed that without it, I can pretty much keep 99% of it on the floor with my "manual bubble cap", and get better flavour. Maybe the ruby pearl will be better, maybe not.
