To sum it up, the campaign had gathered enough money to get things started (moving to a better workshop and getting the materials for one batch to fulfil the backers and their website orders. The campaign was over and things were confirmed to be in motion and then IGG refunded everybody their money...

It can now be pre-ordered again from their website and with this code (QB10) it should be at the same price as during the campaign, I've reordered mine after IGG refunded me, and while it's not guaranteed I'll get it in October, I've been told they'll do their best to make it so.

I was about to place an order for the beech one, but the shipping costs really scare me off. 19€ within the EU? That can't be true... Can't justify buying it for a total of 78€ for a grinder - I know, a really cool one - but it's the shipping costs that are ruining it for me. @QB-GON Will there be any other options?? Like DHL? That should not be more than 13€?

Still wanting this.

I had the same problem and mentioned it but it seems shipping costs from Greece are a pain... I'm just ignoring them on this one...or trying to convince myself it's a whole and that I'm supporting someone trying to get something new done!

Yeah, I get what you're saying. But for me, this has already been priced in. This ruins the total price. It's just too much for me after all.

So far we set up our machinery to an industrial space where we can work, last week we got our first batch of wooden sliced blocks from one of our ex-supplier. He did a very sloppy job, costing us a lot of extra time as we will have to quality check all pieces. For the ones we can work with we will have to add a phase in our line and most likely have to discard most as they are unrepeatable and they don’t represent the quality we want for our product.


We hope that people will understand all these difficulties we have to overcome and we are really sorry to announce that shipping will be delayed to January 2017.


PS. We are sending an automated e-mail to all our clients every time we post a new update. Make sure you check your spam folder.

I guess that's the normal price vs early bird. I know there's a discount code somewhere, I think I've mentioned it on the previous page.

Edit: yup, try QB10 that should give you the same price as during the campaign.

That is what I have been feeling (and saying publicly) since page one of this thread.

After watching the videos repeatedly I have decided not to get involved with this.

I must be honest... I am concerned.
It is supposed to be a working prototype.
The videos... all 3 are using video magic...
grinders do not float on fingertips.... come apart with no hands to expose their "innards"..
Yes real hands take it apart and re-assemble (with help of video editing to make it smooth where needed), but where is the demo?
Where is a real time unedited video of the grinder in use?

OK so I decided I'd risk the dosh on this.

I made my purchase towards the end of last year and waited patiently until the end of January 2017.

I heard nothing, saw nothing, checked inbox, junk mail and that place where spare change and odd socks tend to collect. Zilch.

So I sent @QB-GON an email to info@qb-gon.com on the 29.01.17.

A couple of days went by without a response so I went on their website and filled out the online form asking where they were up to with the order and if they had any updates (01.02.17).

Still no response.

I decided to leave it a few more days but was starting to feel like the game was up.

On 06.02.17 I filed a paypal refund request.

Today 07.02.17 I got my PayPal refund and a message from Michael stating that they are still proceeding with production and that they will update everyone once they have a delivery estimate.

Had I received Michaels e-mail before raising the paypal refund I would have probably just stuck it out.

Just thought you guys might like an update.

Thanks for the heads up... I think you did the right thing. Let's see, if it will come eventually. Not that stoked anymore about this, after having a discussion with a fellow member on wooden grinders and all the hustle that comes with it. Hope material will not have contact with the wooden parts/shell ..it's gonna get sticky and will gunk up fast making operation everything but a breeze. Cleaning wood is not too cool too... Well, we will see (or not).

It all began with a huge post and dozens of images (some on the original post now have broken links, showing the images and posts are not being kept up with) in May 2016... just shy of a year.
@vapen00b ...about the wood.... while the varnish used on this (YES VARNISH!!!) it is claimed to be non-toxic. It's lack of toxicity does not preclude the risk of wood getting "gunked up" as you say... but, varnish is Varnish, toxic or not... and I do not want to inhales particles of non-toxic varnish.
