Well after 2 full days with my Puffit and 6 bowl sessions. The plasticy taste has diminished but its faintly still there. I even tried wiping things down with ISO. It did help with the plasticy taste a little. I would like to try an ISO soaked pipe cleaner and run it trough the vapor path. But I'm not sure if i can do that until Discreet Vape says it's ok to do so. If you look down into the bowl you can see the silicone tube. I think if you popped the screen out you could then send a pipe cleaner down into the vapor path and out the other end. I was even thinking about unscrewing the three phillips head screws that are holding the Puffit together. I will wait to see what they have to say about cleaning the vapor path first before i void my warranty.
When i first recieved mine i checked the battery status and it was in the green. Right after my first bowl it was in the orange. I never charged it completly when i first got it i was too anxious to try it out. They do say that 80% charged will give you a green light. So maybe that 1 % drop to 79% triggers the orange light. Below 40 or 45% triggers the red light. That could be the reason.
It's hard to tell how many bowls you can get out of one charge since I'm always topping it off after each bowl. I always have it at setting 7 or 8 and i don't see you getting more than 2 sessions out of one charge on either of the 2 settings. IMO i don't think anything below 6 does anything else but increase the battery life. If you leave it at 6 you could probably get 3 sessions out of one charge. But then the hits aren't as good.
The Puffit wont be replacing my daily driver which is my original iolite. But just like the iolite, Whisper, or Davinci sometimes i don't have the 20 or 10 minutes to devote to it. The Puffit is perfect at my job for its stealth. When i just need to take a few quick hits to keep me going. I can save the rest for later if i get too busy to get back to it. The other units i would more than often just leave it burning until i got back to it. Which was wasting a lot of my herb.
I would be giving the Puffit a 9 out of 10 if it wasn't for the plasticy taste. But right now i will be giving this an 8 out of 10.
