Puffco PLUS

I was helping my buddy with his MMJ booth at the secret cup this weekend and the booth next to us were selling Puffco pens. Never heard of them before but I was in the need of a new pen so ...

I have to say they are very nice.

The one I have is all gunmetal grey and it's all split meal from drip tip to battery.

The wax chamber is one of the biggest I have used and it is all ceramic. It also has a titanium wire as well as a ceramic rod for a wick and boast 3 temp settings.

I don't have much info on them beyond that and they are in the process if updating the website.

I paid $60 for one but I believe the are selling for 7o a piece or somewhere around there.

They were running a special 2 for $100 when I left.

Seems like a solid product so far.
I dabbed out of it all day on a charge and it worked flawless every time. Also seems very easy to clean/wipe down.

Anybody have $0.02 to add? Opinions, experiences, ect.?

Here is a link the the new website. Apparently they aren't for public sale yet. They also are called the Puffco pro now. Apparently this is a new model but I don't know the difference between it and the original.

I broke my heating chamber yesterday cleaning it (my fault). Snapped the ceramic rod. Emailed them and they should be sending me a new one out today.

I miss it already. :(

They sent me not only 2 replacement chambers with tips but a whole new pen kit so now I have an extra case, battery, charger, and 3 extra coils.

These guys so far are awesome with CS.

Hi, I just saw the Puffco Pro in a shop. Any additional impressions since you first posted? I was thinking about this or an Omicron Lite.

I love mine. It works flawlessly and has awesome battery life. I prefer to use the lowest temp setting (green) and it works well. Very large chamber and great taste since it is all ceramic/Ti. I would order extra coils though. I'm on my third since August.

The first one was replaced free because of a defect but I broke the second myself. They average a month or 2 depending on use. I am a pretty heavy user.

Not sure what to expect from their customer service. I left them 2 messages over the last month via the Contact Us function on their site and both messages have gone unanswered. Essentially, my question was whether their 3 temp settings were the equivalent of regulated voltages and if so, what?

I do have to admit the pens look nice, though.

I emailed directly when I had issues:

chelsea@puffco.com

And as a follow up, I got the oil cartridge from my dispensary and it worked fine with the battery.

I'm curious about the voltage/temp settings myself. All I know is they are high, med, low. I usually run on low and have had no problems so far.

Thanks to the suggestion from @rsqemt911, I contacted Puffco directly and got a quick reply. For those interested, here are the voltage equivalents:

Green - 3.6 v
Medium - 3.9 v
Red - 4.2 v

Bonus: they gave a discount coupon for FC. Here's the quote:

Also, we love the fuck combustion community but are afraid to post because we haven't gone through the approval process yet. In the mean time, feel free to spread this coupon which we'll keep active until january 1st 2015. "FC15" for 15% off.

I told her to join up back in September.
So what do the voltage differences mean? I know temp but I don't know how it translates.

Disclaimer first, I'm not an electrical engineer, but here's my understanding:

Short version: higher voltage = hotter and faster drain on your battery.

I wanted to know because I wanted to see if I could switch out carts/batteries with W9tech hardware. I'm totally new to concentrates and pens and wanted to minimize purchases.

So, in my case, w9tech has a Kiss carts rated at 3.7v. I could use the Puffco battery and Kiss cart (with an adapter), safely on the low setting. I could probably get away with using medium, too, but too high of a voltage would prematurely burn out a cart.

Hope that was along the lines of what you were looking for.

Ok cool. I use the puffco coils for wax but I have pre-filled oil carts from
My dispensary. I've been using the low setting no problem but have tried it on higher as well but didn't notice much difference.

Doo you like the puffco atomizer better than the kiss? It looks like a deeper chamber. Are the coils at the bottom of chamber? Can I load .3 gram and not have to refill it all day (that is my daily medication)? How does it taste when the cart is close to empty (does it taste like burnt wax)?

Thanks for the input. The website is clean, giving me more trust (even though I have no idea)

i love the atomizer yes better than the kiss, it has a huge chamber i load around .5g and take it on my 12 hour day the cart can start to taste like burnt wax if the oil gets heated and cooled plenty of times you shouldnt have an issue on green or blue
the website it great and roger the owner is a cool dude

Great Scott!
I ordered one. For $30 for just an atty, hopefully it lasts a while for me or works better than the others.

Right now I pay $10 at my local headshop for a dual ceramic wick titanium coil atty. Not a bad deal and the dual coil RIPS.

This has the deep ceramic chamber though, so that is something I want to try. Plus the higher capacity sounds great.

Thanks FooFoo for the discount. Just bought the whole pen even though I have pens with 510. I just want to experience low, medium and high. I have learned to use the right drawing technique to get the difference effects but am curious to see how this performs.

Love the deep atty. I don't know why more don't do this. If I have crumble, I always lose some when trying to place in shallow atty.

Yea. I think that is inevitable with vape pens. As it starts to accumulate the impurities, it needs a cleaning or you that burnt taste. If I want to avoid, just throw more in, saturating it.

When I get home I have a small scraper tool I use to clean the chamber out CAREFULLY and I dab it in my rig.

I really do love this pen. It blows away the W9 Kiss IMO. The large all ceramic bowl tastes better, lasts longer, and is easier to use.

I would consider buying another full pen. This time I only bought the atty since I have a 510 battery already, but who knows I might get a full pen after the holidays just because I'm so impressed with it.

i just bought my second puffco, i agree they are better than my w9 products (omicron v2.5, persei, original herc, not sr-xx)
my first was a beta unit which i still have but the new version is much better, darker finish and improved atomizer.
they are coming out with a 5 storage nonstick silicone cloud shaped like their logo im pretty excited about in january.
What makes me like this more is ease of use and customer sercice.
Ive had issues with all my w9 tech products at one time or another and it seems to me its on purpose because they want you to buy nexts weeks new model or attachment..

Still haven't used mine because I got vas and bought a bunch of vaporizers. I like the dark ceramic kiss globes but like the puffco deep dish. Plus the website is done so nicely. Your marketing team is genius. It got me to buy a pen because of the website. Now I got to use it and try it out. Is there a manual on using the different temp settings and other functions?

It's really easy:
5clicks turns it on/off.
4clicks changes temp:
Green-low
Blue-med
Red-high

Thanks. Got to give it a try tonight. What would you say the ideal amount is for loading? I can load .5 but don't want the shatter to taste bad because it keeps getting heated (and exposure to the elements over time). Do you guys like throwing a chunk in or layg?
