Howdy folks! I got some time in on the Proto2 I built for my wife’s new truck today, but I may give her Proto1 instead. The contest prize will be VERY similar to what I have been showing here. However, we need some entries else there might not be a reason for me to build another Proto2 car charger… (3-Likes and 0-entries => Not A Good Sign!)
Since the Linear Tech Demo PCB doesn’t have typical PCB edge mounting holes, how did I mount it in the box? I used the power sockets of the board as a mounting means. Using screws and nuts I created two mounting posts on the box lid to rest the PCBA on. These are the GND sockets so no voltage is exposed to the outside cover. The board is then secured with more nuts creating terminal posts for the wires on ring lugs. From here the cables are simply routed to the outside through a small hole in the box wall.
@MileHighLife – Have you tried your Voltagekeeper(s) to power your PNP for long hauls? It looks interesting, especially all the LED gages…
And how is your battery replacement holding?
@Burnttoast22 – Excellent work man! When you get the black, expect me to bug you about a PayPal transfer. Or might I interest you in a Proto2 Car Charger in an exchange? That way no money is involved and neither of us get busted on the forum…
My friends, don’t combust your life away…
