Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

@TherealVaporblunt and @Engineering I'm having a giant concern tonight. I was using some shatter in my fmj with my pinpro on the highest setting. Well this is what I saw after finishing the session. This was after one 8 minute session.
QHdr47m.jpg

At first I thought it was oil build up but, upon further inspection I realized it's not. It is however a perfect melted groove in my pong creating a lip now trapping my screen in the pong. All I can figure is that the lip of the fmj either sits that tight to the pong or it's pulled up to the pong when being hit. Either way it's absolutely unacceptable to be inhaling melted plastic. Please look into this immediately.

Edit: see the spot where it isn't melted on the right side of my pic? That's where the notch is on the fmj for airflow.
I had/am having the same problem.

The melted PonG does not make me comfortable, especially considering I use setting 4 quite a lot. I've not used setting 5, the fmj or the PonG yet, now I'm scared to.

Just pulled the trigger on one of those 50$ wt's. Went through theyoyokid1 so I get that sucker with a quickness! I had one of the original blasted ones before then sold it to another member and regretted it ever since. Couldn't pass on the kick ass sale!
Did theyoyokid give you the discount?

Is the melted PONG the one that came with the WT or the PNPRO? I thought the one that came with the PNPRO was made of PES and sold black. I think TRVB should make just one high temp version to eliminate any confusion.

Go back one page and look at the picture, it's clearly a black plastic PonG.

Yeah, I seen that, It looks translucent black. I thought the PES version was Solid black, that's why I was asking.

Edit: Maybe This will help

They are not mutually exclusive. We changed the material on the PONG/MP for the PRO due to increased heat settings. It is possible to get the PN PONG/MP melty if you use with the PRO. You can, however, use the PRO PONG/MP on the PN without issue.

(The pieces look identical, but if you were to weigh a PRO MP vs a PN, you would find it weighs slightly more ;) )

Greetings,

I intended to purchase an Ascent like many others but found the wait too long and the quality issues a final deal breaker. I wasn't very happy with the original DaVinci either but do wish the company better days ahead. Went for the PNP instead and I am certainly glad I did.

Wanted to share my way of getting big, beautiful clouds with this little guy. Like others, I fill the bullet, shake it until the flowers settle then lighty tap it down with the end of a Bic pen. I then place a small screen on top of the herb before inserting the bullet. (Just cut down a bigger screen and made a slight dome out of it). You might be able to use a very small glass screen as well. This added screen helps prevent any pieces from flying up into your MP screen effectively blocking a bit of the airflow.

I find that using the MP tip helps add a bit of resistance to the draw thus creating bigger clouds. My experience anyway.

Another huge 'thank you' to all the members at fuckcombustion.com. It was your good advice that led me to buying the PNP. It is currently getting used more than my Solo...and that is saying a lot.

Happy Vaping!

Yes, it's the pong that came with my pro. Yes, it is translucent black. If they are supposed to be solid then mine came with the wrong one.

I "thought" the pro version was solid black PES, but According to engineering's post they look the same but weigh different.

To be honest, it looks solid black. If you hold it up to a light you can, however, see that it is somewhat translucent.

Just know that the clear PonG is the old one (not to be used with the new PNP) and the black PonG is the new one that is to be used with the new PNP.

I thought there was a black version that was available for the regular PN that was not made of PES. I get myself in trouble when I "think" too much...

Ha! Yes, I tend to think too much as well. ...then I go hit my PNP and all thinking ceases!

2 issues

1) I might have an issue with a burn piece like V&C. Used it yesterday outside with one bullet and wanted to get everything out of it, so I bumped it to 4. I remember the part where the screen and PonG meet were smooth when I ran my finger on it. Now it is rough and jagged. I also boiled clean the PonG last night, so it was either the 4 setting or the boiling.

2) Also, there is a "clearer" (less dark than the rest of the PonG) discoloration on the inside of the cavity where the screen is, creating a very fine arc on the upper lip (when screen up). Thought it was water, but it is still there in the morning after drying. Will try to get a photo up later.
OK, while looking at this issue and thinking, I THINK what is happening is that when using the PNP, I do not hold it completely straight up. I hold it in my left hand at an angle to my lips, so my head is looking straight forward or slightly down, not straight down. The LEDs are facing me, so as to block the light (stealth). So in this position, if you take off the PonG, the screen is at an angle. The top edge where the PonG and screen meet, that is where the discoloration is. Could it be because of the angle I hold it at, and the hot air that rises while I pull the air. Constant steady pulling at a temp 4. In my head, I think that when hot air compresses, it creates a higher temperature as well, thus making that particular area of the PonG hotter than the temp level setting it is at.

note: oh, never used setting 5 yet w/ FMJ; only to do a burn-off before first use w/o bullet or MP.

Same exact issues here. Posted a pic a couple pages back. Does the discoloration in yours look similar to mine?

I used mine on level 5 for a full cycle with the fmj a while back, don't remember which mouthpiece I was using but neither seem melted/damaged. I do find it interesting how the screen is recessed on the mouthpiece and flush on the pong. @Engineering, what is the reason for this difference?

I have used both mouthpieces on level 4 a few times without issue as well.

edit: also somebody asked about transporting a packed bullet, so I'm re-posting this. It works perfectly for one with the fmj below it as a spacer.

I just purchased one of the hydra tubes. Has anyone ever had water leak out the bottom joint? I just want to make sure normal draws wont cause ANY water to leave from the bottom.
My first one was defective. I posted about it here http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/pinnacle-pro.10651/page-26#post-457648

Water dripped directly into my new Pro. However the unit seems to be functioning OK and VB replaced the water attachment very quickly. Alls well that ends well, but I would test your water attachment before mounting it.

has anyone found something to put the spare bullet in so flowers wont spill out so you can put it in your pocket or something? Too medicated from using my pn pro with my new worked simba matrix mini tube to think of a fix

I actually use one of these: http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10006865&N=&Ntt=pill

It's pretty low tech, but I've just been stuffing a little ball of paper towel in the top of the bullet, to stop the flowers from spilling out. Then I put it in my little pill container, which goes in my purse. It's not the greatest system, but it works for me!

Follow up to my malfunctioning PNP. TRVB will be sending me a replacement unit soon - hassle free customer service is one reason I bought direct. Looking forward to PNP'ing again and my WT is supposed to arrive this week.

For a travel bullet, I went super low tech and just covered the top with tin foil and stuck it in my jean's coin pocket. Worked fine.

The screen is pushed down to keep the bullet from rattling as much, otherwise it makes no difference.

As far as the PONG goes, the units that are melting seem to be PC instead of PES. It's possible that the wrong piece got put in your box, contact TRVB to get a proper replacement.

Are there translucent black PC pongs as well?
I thought the clear ones were PC and the translucent black ones were PES.
