Yes, the issues will still happen. What do they want an endless replacement cycle(warranty limited obviously)? lol
It's still better than I was expecting. I thought I was going to be SOL and have to use the PONG as my mouthpiece. Once I get my replacement I'm just going to stick to herbs on level 2-3 and see how it goes. If I don't see any cracks for a while then it just can't withstand the high temps for errl.

Technically its vapor but UnderVape sounded weird
Its always good. From what I see though we should be able to use its max settings like intended. Unless they make a new revised Pinnacle that runs at temps the HW can support(no one will like it).

FWIW, I only had PonG issues from the times when I know the bullet lip was in contact with the PonG at high heat (which was down to me adding an NO2 screen to the bullet that curled round the bullets lip, making it just big enough to fit exactly the bottom of the PonG when the PnP was used upside down with my bong). Once I realised what was happening and adjusted my use, I had no more PonG issues, even with continued high heat use. I used the PonG for a few months, heavily, daily, up until last week, and only got the damage towards the start of use when I was still figuring my method out. No further damage has occured since the bullet lip no longer makes contact with the PonG plastic.

I wonder if any of the PonG damage is down to the screen in the PonG absorbing the heat from the bullet when its used upside down with bongs?

The bullet is going to be hot. Anything touching the bullet will get hot. If the screen is touching the bullet then it should get hot as well. Metal screen with plastic = gets hot and has potential to melt/warp and give off fumes. lol I think that calls for a revision.

hopefully they just make a glass mouth piece :p but i agree that using the PnP upsidedown in a bong is definitely going to cause the bullet to be hot against the screen/plastic mouthpiece or PonG. But also I am assuming that this piece is not meant to be used upsidedown continuously. I mean its rare someone would use it upsidedown normally, and the WT that they sell for it also uses it in the upright position. It's probably bad for your device to use it upside down.

I have been asked to address this topic:

We changed material to a higher temperature plastic when we released the PNP, as others have referred to. The melting point on this plastic is higher than the temperatures that are possible with the PNP. Now, we did see some reported issues at the beginning due to an accidental swap of the mouthpiece material, but have never been able to replicate the "melty" PONGS with the upgraded material.

That all said, we do understand that people have concerns with the plastic design, so we are working on a non-plastic air-path solution that will be available in the near future.

Intrigued! This is great to hear as this is what happend to my PonG in december, just a few weeks after purchase direct from VB. That ring is where an outer layer of plastic fell off.

@Engineering I'd also be intrigued to know what material you guys are considering for the non-plastic vapor path?

Thank God i love my pnp and don't wanna give it up. I hope it comes out soon because my pnp comes with me everywhere and my mp is cracking :( love this company just not the plastic pieces. I will definitely be buying a pinnacle 3(if made) because you guys rock.

Not going to work I'd say mate - I don't believe you can pull through the 3a that you need from a single usb port - however I wonder if you could add on an extra usb male end on wired up the same as the one on that one you listed and draw 3a by using both usb ports on that portable charger?

If the charger supplies 1.5 amps per usb, but not likely. I tried this attempt, few pages earlier, on many different usb chargers and none had enough amperage.

@Engineering
Make a car charger, replaceable battery, and a better pong and this thing would be in a class by itself, in my opinion.

Mine has a bunk battery though so a full charge only gets me one use on level 2 and dies while I'm heating it up to level 4, to finish the bullet.

How much water am I meant to put in my new PNP water tool and how do I pour the water in? No instructions in box!!! :-/

Do you guys expect your PnP's to last 2-3+ years? I'd really like one but reading about so many issues with a limited warranty makes me worried to spend so much for something that might crap out after 13 months. I'm not huge about the PAX and I've used it, but the 10 year warranty is what entices me about it

Just confirmed with OGB; unfortunately, he can't do a 14.5mm straight stem.

As such, I'm gonna go for the standard 14.5mm GONG adapter with 12mm (Diameter) by 10mm (Length) stem. Diameter is not quite the same as the inner stem on the PonG, but is close enough not to touch the bullet and the length is the same, so it will not require resizing the PonG, just fitting the mouthpiece through the plastic!

This will also sit perfectly on top of the white inner ring in the PNP chamber (which I suspect was engineered to minimise transfer of heat to the PonG ironically enough!). The glass GonG will still not touch the bullet at all.

Bad news is that it is gonna take 2 weeks to deliver to Australia. Ah well, I'm waiting on 2 other shipments of parts for it too! @emmdeemo do you know if the pinnacle microshower water tool fits on the end of the OGB adapter, or do you just use the mouthpiece you made on it's own?

Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I'm wondering if the glass is wedged in snug, and with heavy use, would it still be transfering too much heat to the PonG? The solution I've stumbled across here has the glass barely touching the PonG (and I think most of the time it doesnt actually touch the PonG at all), as its resting on the rubber o-ring. On the other hand, if I want it too, the glass can seal with the top of the bullet lip, which I know is still gonna be transfering a hell of a lot of heat. Still seems to stay cooler than the original PonG did tho.

Micro shower water tool? I'm confused by the question, sorry, probably too vaked :) Is that the same as the WT that comes with the PnP DLX kit? if so, that would be around 14.5mm surely, to fit a 14mm PonG eh? PonG and my DIY GonG from the OGB link I posted are the same bong connection size, if thats what you're asking?

Thankyou @Engineering I have just ordered lemon flavoured mouthpiece tips and the end of the first tip I have used has melted onto he mouthpiece adapter. Just got my second PonG and Mouthpiece and I only bought a brand new PNP a week ago.

Can I get some kinda warranty with these pieces when the new design comes out. I love the device otherwise, but I have gone and commissioned a glassblower to make a mouthpiece for my new vaporizer before I am even safe to use it! I have only owned the PNP for a week!

I have had one of the non-flavoured pnp mouthpiece tips melt in the same way after a day or two of getting the device, the lemon tip melted after half an hour's worth of cumulative use on level one! The other was more used on level 2. I have emailed David at TheVaporBlunt about my mouthpiece and pong melting a week or so ago with no reply!

I understand we are in the infancy of portable vaporizers, but it would be nice for us early-ish adopters of a retail product to be looked after when we've spent such good money on machines that we would love to use, but can't in many cases due to melting plastic.

I don't want to be a pain, but I am sure you can appreciate the position of myself and others who have experienced this melting problem!

Thanks!

I can lend partial support to the PonG claim so far. My new PonG arrived this morning, I have used it on every heat except level 5 without melting, only facing vertically but most importantly with cotton wool ball filter as you guys suggested. This is a far, far better idea than metal screens, which provide additional conduction heat and probably are not a good idea and as I and others have found, could limit clouds!

However, the original melting was from a hot piece of plant material from an unfiltered bullet (just filled loosely with plant material as per the instructions) blowing against the screen of the pong and getting stuck to it. I pulled the piece of hot plant material off alongside the piece of plastic underneath it. This piece smelt of burning and part of the melted plastic was on my finger. This was the day after I got the unit!

Cotton wool filter is a godsend. I want to thank all of you guys for your help in figuring out exactly how to get the most out of my vape in the week or two since I've had it! Can't wait to get an all glass vapor path, water tool already tastes so much better, can only imagine how much better a GonG will be!

@emmdeemo the microshower tool is indeed the PNWT, standard one with PINNACLE written diagonally up the side. Thankyou in particular for your readily provided information on the PNP!

Hoping TVB can help us all out of a jam with a glass mouthpiece or something that once and for all lets us use the PNP at all settings, which would be splendid!

I am not so sure anymore if I want my PNP to be in the mail today...
Exactly! Don't worry too much. In the meantime, make sure to use cotton wool in a ball at the end of your bullets (just inside the top, so as not to touch the screen on your mouthpiece/pong adapter and heat it up more. Also make sure you do not go over heat setting 3. Once a new mouthpiece is designed that relieves this problem (I really hope some kind of nice tasting glass!), it'll be an incredible vaporizer instead of just a great one with an Achilles heel. :)

I haven't had any kind of plastic failure, and unlike most FC'ers, I actually don't use cotton? Have many of you had the actual plastic melt on your mouthpieces/tips? I mean the thing sticks on reaaaaaaaally good whenever I use it [I really don't use the little tip thingy]- but that's all from reclaim/resin buildup in mine.. closest thing to melting I've seen is the actual lip around the screen, it's like- slightly warped
Maybe it's due to mine usually being used upside down in glass? I do know a lot of you use the PonG exclusively though which may lend to the problem as well..

Needless to say- a solution to this problem would greatly interest me :2c:

I stopped using cotton on the top of the bullet:
I now use a domed screen on top.
The domed metal screen ensures that the only contact of the MP's or the Pong's screen touches the domed screen and can no way touch the bullet.

Old set up:

--------- < metal screen
\*****/ < thin layer of cotton

|bkbkb| <bud kief mix
|kbkbk|
|bkbkb|
|kbkbk|
\bbbbb/ <bud only so no kief sticks to bullet screen

New set up:

/bkbkb\< domed metal screen
