Pinch Hitter by Vapvana

I will do so, thank you! Hehe... the whip costs more than the Mega Cube bong. :) C'est la vie.
It's soooo worth. I'm using my solo 3 with the mega globe flat earth without any water . Obviously not as hard hitting as a ball vape but I feel the whip genuinely transforms that device. It allows for truly maxing out the device with a strong inhale. Your not gonna out breathe the pinch hitter but you will be able to one inhale extract your entire bowl, easily if you heat soak. Its easily 2x maybe even 3x better than the included whip.

I've been enjoying my Pinch Hitter. I got a Ruby Twist at the same time (won't go into comparisons but I find them very comparable.)

Things I like:
  • The bowl is the perfect size for .05g. I have been measuring out .05g and it covers the space perfectly with a light pack.
  • I started at 560F. This was a fairly light roast for me. I've settled at 600 to 610 which provides an even dark roast.
  • The airflow is wide open with either the 14mm or 18mm glass attachment.
  • I haven't had any issues removing the glass attachments from the bowl.
Things I don't like:
  • I had to adjust the coil guard so I can see if the bowl is flush with the heater. It still requires me to hold it in place for best results.
  • At lower temps, like 560F, the edges weren't cooking as completely. Not sure why, but upping the temperature has helped.
  • The handle, while perfectly functional, isn't very aesthetically pleasing... I swapped it out for a wood one from Aliexpress which is much nicer but I need to find a way to better hold it in place.
Overall, I'd recommend it if you microdose and want to get the most out of small amounts. I am excited to see how and if it develops especially in comparison with the Ruby Twist which uses many of the same components, but has a different style heater head.

The Pinch Hitter Coil Guard (Early Adopter Replacement) are available. Ask in Vapvana site chat
if you have not been E-mailed with a $0.00 invoice for one.

The power went out during the Florida Helene hurricane. I had to default to my Dynavap B Helix tip
and Ispire SKC till the CCD got clogged. Then my RBT milaana 3, Splinter, Z and Roffu. Draw resistances
are higher. The skills put me to work as well as the cleanings. After a few hours I was on my BSS flame
powered vape just for the instant hits that are similar in intensity. The power came on, I resumed my
Pinch Hitting low draw resistance potent easy small puff pulls. I am back to the fast, toasty, and smack
me silly full effortless one hit wonders. I pimped out my coil handle with Tourna sticky real leather
grip tape :) It feels firmer when pressing on the bowl. The head stays put and the wire secured.

Why is this thing so large if it just vapes 0.1g? Even the handle is unnecessarily large.

Do you have intentions to improve the design?

When I compare my Pinch Hitter to other wired ball vapes with safety shields it seems right in line in terms of size. The only feature that does seem a little bulky is the handle. Vapvana has a nice collection of accessories, perhaps they could offer some customization there too, but as a low cost "entry" into the scene this thing strikes a near perfect balance.

how can we get this thread moved out of the "upcoming and unreleased" section?

Just report any of the posts with a comment like “device is released, could you move it out of the upcoming section?” and a mod will move it whenever they’re available.

Just got my pinch hitter and it's quickly become my favourite bowl. Don't get me wrong I love the glass bowl and the metal one works great too. But the hybrid pinch hitter is so small in comparison even to the metal bowl with the screen in the top position it looks about half the bowl size. The Ace works brilliantly on it and its a perfect size for quick one and done milky clouds. Haven't got round to testing the Screwball with it but I'm sure it'll work just aswell on that. Definitely recommend. Was a bit wary if I'd actually feel it as I'm used to the bigger bowls but it definitely does. Thinks it's just the right depth n size for very efficient one and done. I had a thought after reading about the sublimator and the Flower kettle.(think that's the name it's a Canadian manufactured ball type vape but it also has a specially designed heated bowl to make the vapour particles smaller. So the idea is use a stainless steel washer just the right size OD to fit inside the top o-ring on the pinch hitter with the washer having a fairly small opening I think a good size to try would be 2mm ID hole . And then just have the glass joint fitting into the bottom seal but just touching the washer. Or if you can't get one quite the right size so the OD just fits inside the seals you could use the glass to hold it tight against the bottom of the pinch hitter bowl. In the hope it may do a similar job and create enough of a vacuum to create smaller vapour particles. Just an idea. As the Tornado now has added heat into the mix I guess it maybe best to have the heater on the bowl for a few seconds to allow some conduction heat to get to the area under the washer underneath the bowl. I suppose if you used it a bit before trying it after cleaning washers properly you could use the condensed oil to help make the seal between the bottom of the bowl and the washer. Ps of your hybrid bowl is sticking just but the heater on it for a second or 2 and then just lightly wiggle the joint while gently pulling away from the metal bowl this should free any oil acting like glue when it's cold and hopefully avoid any broken glass joints. Oh when putting the glass joint into the hybrid bowl I find if I wipe tiny bit of water on the seals it slots in super easily.
Not sure I'll try this out or not if anyone else decides to and gets any noticeable results or has any better ideas lmk please.

Recommended Vape Supplies have it back in stock again and am pretty sure it will go out of stock again fast like the last few times it was in stock

I have noticed that my Pinch Hitter is no longer drawing air through the heater very well. It’s almost as if the unit is gummed up, but there’s no way that could happen since it’s so clean! I know there’s no herb or even vape resin in there!

Is it possible that the rubies need “stirred” or moved around? The unit no longer makes a shaking sound at all, the stones are kinda “locked”.

Please feel free to suggest a fix. I've never opened the bucket, but maybe I need to?

Thanks!

I had the same issue so I swapped the rubies for 3mm ruby balls and the improvement in airflow was noticeable. Also means I can run the PID hotter without worrying about combustion.

That sounds like a really extreme measure that changes the intended functionality of the vape?

I don't think running the PID hotter is either good or bad, it just means you're running it hotter (using more energy) to get the same result.

Thank you for affirming that I'm not the only person seeing this. The vape is still wonderful. I don't "require" more throughput. But it definitely did change, and I may experiment as you have. It looks like VGoodIEZ has a bag of 'em for about $15.

No change in functionality at all, still the perfect microdoser. I like open airflow and found the rubies stifled that somewhat. Swapping out the rubies took 2 minutes and I can change back anytime.

Intro Message

What's up FC!

Cal here, the founder of Vapvana. I'm excited to introduce the Pinch Hitter to y'all. After spending 10+ iterations refining our diffuser + bowl connection, we are excited to use that R&D to expand our ecosystem and offer a more affordable option to our flagship product - the Screwball.

Mr Cal Purchased The Pinch hitter over christmas > loving this , three days in many pretty damn good hits off a high tower from great white north, had two plenty's a classic arizer, and im now satisfied, very much so, it takes a bit of a learning curve I tend to draw on the hose while operating my computer and a bit of back pressure tosses the ABV all over my bubbler because the bowl is tiny.

I'm guessing sometime around/after Jan20. My reasoning...The "pre-order" Ace are suppose to start shipping that date. They include the sold out "blender". Just chasing a vague "distributor" angle.

Makes sense, appreciate the response! Loving my ace glass bowl, but def could use the double-sized screwball bowl. I wonder if any others currently on the market fit the ace.

I believe Jerry's review stated it fits all his 25's, but my memory is shady at best (on the good days)...he could have been talkin the hot hole

Maybe not the oldest, but possibly the fartiest!
Can the PID be used with a smart switch? Obviously the smart switch can turn the power off, but can the smart switch turn the power on?
