I also have the haze with the titanium and quartz insert. Flavor out of my haze is simply amazing it’s my go to when I want to straight chase flavor. I still fill a bag on the volcano straight to relax chill and chase flavor
I’d love to know what temp range, draw strenght etc to achieve those flavors outta my ZX but
I’m also less than 5-6 months in. I’ve tried 470-520 temp.
I don’t care at all for small loads, clearing bowls in one hit or the one hit extraction no cleanup hit.
I wanna know how to achieve great flavor.
I used a Volcano for many years.
I would say a Volcano and a ZX are very different in their purported approach.
Bag vapor is unique in that it is homogenized so you get a little flavor with each inhale; whereas the ZX was more-so meant to deliver one big, strong, concentrated blast of flavor. The Volcano is meant to replicate a joint smoking experience while the ZX is made to replicate a bong hit experience.
A powerful high surface area vape like the ZX at normal vaping temperatures is usually going to extract what I consider to be the "flavor" in the first inhalation, thus playing into this concept of one hit snaps to consistently achieve great flavor and effects. This perspective and pursuit comes partially from an effects/potency thread I made asking FC members their preferences, and the majority voted that a faster extraction led to more perceived potency/stronger effects.
Been thinking about this one for a while, wanted to take a poll to see what style of vaping FC members find is the most effective for them: slow drawn out sessions, or fast and heavy extraction? Or do you rely on both methods to help keep things fresh? I'm also really curious about microdosers...

As far as flavor, terpenes are the most volatile part of the plant and they evaporate before everything else.
80-90% of terpenes will evaporate before the plant is even dried.
Terpenes will even co-distill just with the water in the plant - like that terpy hit off an Arizer with no real visible vapor.
If you're looking to take a bunch of pulls off a ZX bowl, it's never really going to have that homogenized flavor like a bag vape.
That's exclusive to bag vapes. If you use a whip with the Volcano the homogenization is gone and the terpenes evaporate in one hit again.
Maybe if you load a massive bowl or if the flower is extremely good you might get one more flavor hit.
Terpene content overall seems down to me now compared to ~5 years ago with more and more giant commercial operations and less and less small batch curated.
Now I do read in other threads (even of devices I own) where people talk about getting flavor for 12 hits.
To me, at some point it becomes a bit imaginative - like a "beertender" describing an IPA I was drinking as having a "pineapple candy" flavor.
It all boils down to preferences - I often like to get all of the flavor in one inhalation so I can get the complete taste.
I don't like fractionating flavor out over multiple hits, to me it's like putting too much water in the lemonade.
Kinda sweet. Kinda sour. Kinda lemony.
A ZX is more like drinking straight lemonade concentrate. Ka-POW!
And like a 1911, you might have to reload more often
I’m all excited for new products. Figuring out what’s the next best opportunity that also makes money is important for Phase 3. I love the products and I only wish the word was getting out more and that we could get products faster. Keep up the Z-experience and enjoy.
Lovin’ the ZX here in Spain
I'm trying to work my way out of the extended delays but one issue is that there's only a small number of shops in the entire world that can build products like these Z's; it's super specialized - very few machine shops have these capabilities or equipment to produce these type of parts.
So there's interest here in finding ways to work with other materials to try and bring the downtime with other products down.
As always I sincerely appreciate the Z Tribe's enthusiasm and support as that means and helps a ton!
That's why they call him the Thermal Herbal Extraction Professor.
Don't forget I tenured under Dr. Herb Al Vaupe!
